EAD based on pending i-485
Hi guys
PD is March 21st (i-485, i-130 and i-765)
NOA by mail April 1st
Filled i-131 on April 8th
BIO appointment received April 9th for April 21st
BIO successful walk-in on April 12th in SLC
i-131 approved April 26th
i-131 received May 2nd
RFE due to i-864 received May 2nd
Now my question is, will my i-765 be approved while my i-485 is stopped? USCIS says one should't affect the other, meanwhile a lot of people have not received their EADs while they didn't respond to the RFE.. Anyone with similar experiences please share with me?
I applied for EAD on January 15. I was told it will take up to 90 days to get the EAD. That is why I came with my wife, because 90 days or even earlier was okay for me to wait for.
Now it is already 120 days and on their webpage they are stating that they are already processing cases from February 16th. When our attorney called them, they are telling her that our application is still in line to be reviewed. The information we are getting here does not make any sense, how can my case not be reviewed yet but they are already reviewing cases from February 16th?
I applied for EAD on February 11th 2016 (vermont). After many SR, infopass visit & waiting for 90 days; I received a reply to my SR saying -
" The status of this service request is:
A review of our electronic records indicates that your Application for Employment Authorization (Form I-765) was approved and your Employment Authorization Document (EAD) is in production.
Please allow up to 30 days for processing and delivery of your new EAD."
But when I check the status online, it shows the same status as day 1 - application received.
I am really confused what exactly is the status???? Anyone is the same boat?
I have a job in hand & I might lose it if I dont get the EAD !
I recently received biometric appointment notice in the mail for two of my applications, i485 and i765 together. I was under the impression that biometric is not required for EAD. I hope it's normal. My employer is waiting for me but they won't wait for long. I hope I get my EAD by 75th day.
So I saw this thread and decided to share my experience this far.
-Sent in papers March 22, 2016
-i765 and i130 received on March 24
-i485 accepts finger print fee March 28
-i765 new card is being produced May 13
-1 hour later on May 13,2016.. i765 EAD case was approved.
- Now I'm just waiting. I heard I should get it in 7 days or max 10 days.
I urgently need my EAD to start my job from 1 june. I have till now raised 2 expedite request, which are denied. Also raised "approaching regulatory time frame" service request, which asked me to wait for next 60 days.
Vermont processing timelines, clearly states that they are at 18 january for L2 EAD.
My question is that I am completing my 90 days on 17 May, even knowing that vermont is at 18 january , should I raise request with Ombudsman and Congressman or I should wait for some more time?
Hello all. Thanks a lot everybody for sharing your experiences, because just like many people here, this forum is what keeps me sane while I have to wait.

Thanks again for sharing your experiences, and keep your mind always positive. I've started my process last July, and I know it's super painful to wait.
12/21/2015: Case was received)
4/7/2016: Service Request raised, got response, case is pending review. We will process in the order it is received.
5/4/2016: Wrote to Ombudsman, they wrote us back, they started another thread with USCIS to see whats happening.
Overall, really feeling low, that it takes more than 5 months to get an EAD. Then too, its renewal.
