L2 EAD delay
Hi All,

Its been super frustrating waiting for USCIS to process my EAD. They received my application on Dec 22nd, 2015 and since then no change in status from case received (119 days today). The case went to Nebraska. I have raised 2 SRs (response was your application is in line to be reviewed, please wait and contact after 60 days). I wrote to the ombudsman (they sent an inquiry to USCIS, it has been 9 days and no response from USCIS yet) and sent a request to the local congressman (with an offer letter). Contacted the congressman office today and apparently the guy who follows up from USCIS is away on family emergency. Just my luck! Don't know any other avenues. I have a confirmed work opportunity that starts from next week, and a few others that are lined up and I could lose those as well. I am an independent consultant and can't afford to lose any opportunities because my work is seasonal. Anybody has ideas on what else can be done. This is super frustrating and unfair. Why the hell don't they just issue the work permit along with the L2 visas , could save us all time and grief!!

J2 ead card - Nebraska
Hi,

I just wanted to share my (very long) timeline because I found it very helpful to read everyone else's.

J2 renewal (but it's the same pile) ead card took 124 days by Nebraska Center

December 14 2015: case received
February 29 2016 (77 days): inquiry case status by phone and online application
March 21 2016: answer inquiry that I'm somewhere in line - no usefull information at all
April 8 2016 (118 days): ead card approved (this date is shown on the card but nobody could officially confirm that so I had to wait until I had the card) They told me it could take up to 60 days to produce and mail the card because of problems in that department. I was desperate... Luckily it didn't take that long anymore:
April 13 2016: card mailed
April 16 2016: card received

I go back to work tomorrow. My employer has been very understanding. I was home since March 2.

I could only apply for my renewal after receiving my new DS2019 which I could only apply for 90 days before the previous one expired, March 2.

Hang in there... You get it eventually, but it just takes forever and is very frustrating to know nothing at all about the expected timeline. I hope this helps a little bit.

My experience
Hello everyone,

This forum has been super useful, but reading everyone's experiences has shown me that all cases are very different and that each individual's situation is unique.

In any case, I wanted to show my own experience in obtaining my EAD on an L2 visa, which took in total 137 days (very frustrating and stressful process).

Here's the details:

11/30/2015 USCIS Received paper application package
12/2/2015 Acceptance Confirmation
12/10/2015 Notice Receipt
2/16/2016 Called to open a ticket
2/17/2016 Inquiry assigned to an officer
2/22/2016 Emailed Congressman
2/23/2016 Called to check on ticket. Asked to wait 30 days before calling again
3/4/2016 Alert to indicate that a RFE was mailed
3/7/2016 Received notification asking for evidence since my L2 supposedly expires on April 8 (PED).
3/8/2016 Called USCIS asking for clarification. Referred me to a Immigration Lawyer.
3/15/2016 USCIS Received Evidence
3/31/2016 Called USCIS to inquiry about my ticket. Recommended to email the Vermont Service Center directly
3/31/2016 Emailed Vermont Service Center
3/31/2016 Emailed Congressman
4/5/2016 Vermont Service Center responded asking to wait up to 60 days
4/6/2016 Contacted Ombudsman
4/11/2016 Case Updated. New Card is being produced
4/11/2016 Case Updated. EAD Approved.
4/13/2016 Case Updated. Card has been mailed
4/15/2016 Received EAD

Hope this helps.

EAD Delayed
I have my case pending since January 13 2016, I created an inquiry on March 16, they respond on March 26, saying that sorry but we are doing our best, and then I called 2 weeks later and they said, wait until the 3 months, i wait and called 2 days ago, and they said, we can not help you, you need to wait 30 days after your las inquiry.

I`m anxious, i don`t know what to do, I have a job offer since February 25, and changing the starting day since that day, i don`t think the company is willing to wait one more month.

According to what i learned here, i`m going to contact the Obundsman, but, i need to know if I do it through the format in the web page, or by e-mail? I appreciate your help

EAD
I have been watching this forum since January 2016 when I filed. Here is my timeline
I got married in March 2015 in the USA ( to US citizen) and returned home to the Island. Traveled to USA 3 times between March and November. Came back in November 2015. Decided to stay and file papers.

January 27 - Case received - Filed I765, I485, I130, I131
February 2 - NOA email
February 6 - Receipts in mail (4)
February 11- Notice to do biometrics
February 26 - Bio metrics done
March 14 - Status changed to Ready to schedule interview
April 11 - Status changed EAD approved
April 12 - EAD card mailed to you (day 74)
Should be in my hand any day now.

I am a serious faith person so at day 45 I started to apply for jobs. Had several offers most of which I declined as they were core sales jobs. I said God is a God of order he will not give me a job without having the requisite permit, so now that I have it my job is just days away.
Not worried about the GC, that will come too. Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. Wish you all the best.

FINALLY EAD APPROVED
It's been a crazy few weeks since I have been waiting for my EAD through AOS. USCIS finally approved my EAD, here is my timeline:

Got married to my wife (she's a USC) 12/10/15
Priority date 12/18/15
Went for biometrics 2/3/16
Opened up SR 3/18/16 (90 days)
Called local congressman and cis ombudsman and emailed them the job letter 4/6/16
Today got an email saying that the new card is being produced 4/12/16

Hopefully, GC interview is next. I would highly recommend if it's past 90 days, please contact your local congreassmen and cis ombudsman and expedite your case. Good luck to all :)

H4 EAD- when to apply?
Hi Everyone,

My husband is on sixth year of his H1 and I am on on H4. His sixth year will complete on Jul 22,2016 and maxout date is Aug 22,2016. His I-140 has filed on April 11,2016 on regular process. Also we have applied for h1 and H4 extension(regular) based on PERM approval(will get only one year extension).

So my question is, when can I apply for my h4 EAD:
Do I need to wait for my extension to be approved(it takes months to get approval)?
Can I appy for EAD beforehand when we receive the receipt notice for the I-140 form?
Do I need to wait till we get I-140 approval?
Can I apply it when hos 6th year completes(July 22,206)?
Can I apply it beforehand?
