day 117 Card Mailed / Vermont SC
Hi All,
Applied for EAD as spouse of E2 ( form I 765 + form G 1145 + 2 passport photos + all required docs )
Day 1 - December 11 2015 - request received at Vermont SC
Between Day 1 and Day 75 - I called USCIS to find out how to expedite my case but I had no option and couldn't get any updates from them
Day 5 - received Acceptance Confirmation and a Receipt Number . Case status "Received"
Day 76 - I called USCIS and asked for a SR ( again they can't provide any info about the case ) . They told me that I will receive an update in 30 days..
Day 80 - Contacted local congressman to check if they can find out more. After couple of days the congressman had an answer from USCIS that they will send an answer by Day 90.
Day 90 - no updates. Case still in status "received"
Day 91 - I called USCIS to open a new SR for "outside of normal processing time" + I contacted again local congressman and got an answer that they will solve my case
Day 100 - contacted CIS Ombudsman and explained the situation
Day 110 - received an email from CIS Ombudsman saying that they contacted Vermont SC
Day 115 - status changed from "Case received" to "Case approved"
Day 117 - status changed from "Case approved " to "Card mailed"

Now I'm waiting for the actual EAD card. My advice : contact local congressman from day 76 after you open a SR with USCIS call center + contact CIS Ombudsman starting day 91!

Thank you all that offered their support and shared useful info about this whole process.. This forum kept me sane :)

Good Luck !

3/28/2016- Day 103- InfoPass appointment- The officer asked me to send offer letter to help expedite the case
3/28/2016- Day 103- Contacted CIS Ombdusman and Congressman
3/29/2016- Day 104- Emailed all docs including offer letter to Congressman office
3/29/2016- Day 104- Raised another SR with expedite request...generic response
4/5/2016- Day111- CIS Omdusman notified that decision has been reached on the case and USCIS updated the case status as "New card is being produced"

Thanks for all the help that this forum provided. I would suggest anyone who has an urgency to contact CIS ombdusman and congreeman and explain the situation as clearly and precisely as possible.

Best of luck to everyone.

Family Based AOS
Hello everyone....ive always read people's post here ...and i found alot of them really helpful, so i thought i'd share mine too

PD 12/23/2015
Filed i485, i130,i765 together
01/05/2016----Application recieved
01/09/2016-----Notice for Biometric received
01/25/2016----Did Biometric
01/28/2016----Received RFE on i485 (The actual letter never got to me until after a month and several calls. Before it came, my wife already figured out what was probably asked for and it had been obtained )
03/07/2016 received the RFE in hand
03/08/2016 Replied the RFE express mail.
03/25/2016 i765 status changed to ''We ordered your new card..i had called them a day before and raised service request
03/29/2016 We mailed your new card
03/31/2016 Card was delivered....(Happy day)

However;
i485 still reads response received.

The wait can be really really frustrating, but its worth it all......Dont hesitate to call them once your date is approaching, When you talk to L2 officer, always make them give you a time frame to look forward to....
Facts according to USCIS staff
....The applications i130,i484,i765 are independent applications
.....RFE will not delay your process because they understand we need to work....

Apart from the RFE hitch, i would say its been a smooth journey...

Wish you all best of luck and will definitely share updates too...

Filed from Houston Texas
Lee's summit processing centre.

EAD Renewal
hi guys, one quick Q. I've an EAD expiring this year.

1. How sooner one can apply? Somewhere I read not before 90 days and some where I read 120 days. Any idea?

2. Which center I need to send it? How to find it. Previous time I had applied online and printed the location based on my address. Now I think we all have to apply paper based.

Please advise

Thanks!!

Waiting for EAD
Hello everyone,

My case was received on Feb 02, 2016. Later it was moved to other USCIS office on Feb 26, 2016. On March 18th, 2016, I received and update saying my case has been updated with my date of birth. Today, 30th March, 2016, I called to customer care service and asked "what does that mean". They told me it is fine and asked me to keep on waiting. At the time of recent update, in mail, it says it is a initial process of case.

Can anyone here, please let me know, how long does it take to receive my EAD card from the date of initial process?

Thanks in advance.

Waiting for EAD
Hi everyone,

My husband and I applied for an adjustment of status EAD for me (I'm currently on H4) as part of an EB-1 application. Our documents were received by USCIS on Dec. 23, 2015 but there has been absolutely no movement on my EAD. My application was transferred to the California Service Center from Nebraska and then was transferred back to Nebraska after I initiated a series of SRs after 75, then 90 days. I have contacted my congressman who has been very helpful but USCIS refused their expedite request. Today I received a SR response saying to wait the additional 60 days. I have a job offer that I need to accept before the end of April and at this point I'm worried that I won't be able to.

Is there anyone else out there who submitted for EAD in late Dec. 2015 who is still waiting for EAD? My husband has received his combo card and I received my AOS but my EAD seems stuck. The waiting is terrible but this forum has been helpful, so thank you.

Its been 140 days since my case was received,
I have a job offer to start at the end of May, and I'm starting to worry I will not get it by then
Any suggestions what to do? is it helpful to say you have an employer? how was your experience contacting Congressman or CISombudsman
