L2 EAD
I am a first-time L2 EAD applicant

8th Oct - Sent forms to USCIS Nebraska Center
13th Oct - USCIS Received the forms
19th Oct - Received I797 notice
12th Jan raised SR as it was close to 90 days, received generic response - 60 more days
6th Mar - Raised SR as it was close to 146 days, received generic response - 60 more days
Same day contacted congressman office, they declined to help stating they dont encourage USCIS related cases anymore
9th Mar - request for expedite raised and rejected

10th Mar - today it is 150 days, case status is ' Case Received' from day one.
Booked an infopass appointment for 18th Mar.

Still waiting... with each passing day it is becoming very depressing for me..

L2 - EAD Experience
Hi everyone,

This forum helped me a lot so I would like to share my experience.

Context is L2 first time EAD. I arrived in the US at the end of October 2015 and applied for EAD on November 4 2015. I signed a contrat on mid November and tell to my employer I will be able to start mid February 2016.

November 4th 2015 - Sent all document to USCIS - Vermont Services
November 6th - All documents were received by USCIS
November 9th - I received the I797 form saying case was received

January 22 2016 - Day 75 - I sent an inquiry to have an update about my case
January 29 - I received an answer saying that I have to wait an additional 60 days. I started being worried for the timetable I gave to my future employer.
February 6th - Day 92 - I sent an inquiry for out of time processing
February 7th - I received the same answer as the previous inquiry - wait for an additional 60 days
February 9th - I booked an appointment at USCIS local office
February 12th - appointment - Useless, waste of time, they are unable to help you, and they do not deliver interim EAD anymore. I decided to contact congressman and CISombudsman explaining the situation and my future employer getting hungry
February 15th - I received a RFE additional evidence
February 19th - The status moved to RFE received
February 26th - I submited another inquiry for out of processing delay to USCIS and called both congressman and CISombudsman office to have an update - answers were that the are studying my case and will come back to me
February 29th - The status moved to We approved your form I765 and ordered your new card - same day I received an email from CISombudsman saying that USCIS has been contacted and will move
March 4th - Day 120 - EAD and approval notice on hand

I have tried to be as precise as possible, I did not mention calls to USCIS (I called them many times) because it is useless, they can not help you they know nothing they just repeat things you already know.
I do not have a lawyer I did it alone.
My employer is cool and patient, he has waited but these delays are very dangerous.
I would advise to contact congressman and CISombudsman asap after the 90 days.

All the best everyone

OPT RFE processing time
Hello all,

I applied for OPT based i-765 on Nov 2
- USCIS received on -> Nov 2 2015
- SR 1 -> Jan 15 2016
- SR 2 -> Jan 23 2016
- Received RFE (additional evidence) on -> Feb 3rd 2016
- Response to RFE received by USCIS -> Feb 12th 2016
- Infopass appointment -> March 2nd (Said case with officer)

USCIS said that they have reset the clock for 90 days on the response received. As far as I know the clock is only reset for initial evidence and not for additional evidence. I contacted Congressman office, they enquired and got the same response. I have a job offer waiting. What should I be doing next? How much time does it generally take for additional evidence RFE? They required my transcripts. Please help.

Response for service request
Its been over 90 days, and I got this for my service request today:

"Your case is currently assigned to an officer for adjudication. You should receive a notice of action* within 30 days.

*A notice of action may be in a form of Approval Notice, Denial Notice, Transfer Notice, Request for Evidence, or Notice of Intent to Deny."

Anyone got the same? What does this mean? I will get a reply in 30 days?

EAD
Hi All,

I got my EAD after 120 days.

I have a clarification.

On the EAD, its printed as "NOT VALID FOR REENTRY TO U.S".

Does that mean I can't visit my home country ??

If at all I go for visit, I have to apply for EAD again ??

If anyone knows, Please put some lights on it.

Thanks,

H4 EAD RFE received for already submitted documents
Hi,

I applied for H4 EAD based on approved I-140 form on Feb3rd.

On Feb 29th, i received an RFE from USCIS to submit proof for - Work authorization under the eligibility category (c)(26) filed in the form I-765.

I already submitted a copy of approved i-140 form and latest I-797 form when initially filed for EAD with all other documents to USCIS. Could anyone please help here as to what document i missed? Or shall i send the same copy of approved I-140 and latest I-797 again to USCIS?

Thanks!
