working with EAD while i485 pending
Hi, I dont know if this is the correct forum, but upon receiving the EAD card, can i apply anywhere Even though my AOS is pending interview (in Houston...)?

I understand that having the EAD grants me permission to work in the US, but can employers ask about my immigration status when an offer is extended and then retract said offer?? or is the EAD only thing i need to work at a company like Shell?

Thanks so much

Receieved EAD
I got it yesterday on the 90th day. Thanks to USCIS for making this a horrible waiting experience and an awful customer support.
This forum was much helpful, good luck to everyone.

Tax changes after receiving EAD
Hello all,

I just received my EAD card yesterday and am wondering how taxes will change by that? I was on OPT so did not pay for Social Security and medicare taxes. Should I pay for all of them after getting EAD? Thanks a lot for anyone's help!

EAD Timeline (Based on I-485)
Hello everyone,

This forum was so much help to me as I was petitioning for my husband, so I wanted to share my experience with the EAD (from adjustment of status.)

11/24/2015 Received by USCIS at Chicago Lockbox
12/03/2015 Receipts of case acceptance received
12/28/2015 Biometrics appointment at local ASC
02/08/2016 We raised a service request on our account (the 76th day)
02/11/2016 Case status for I-765 and I-131 changed to "in processing" and will be mailed in three days.

We were worried that it would take longer than the 90 days, so we made an InfoPass appointment for the 91st day in hopes of receiving an interim EAD, and we began an inquiry with our senator after seeing on this forum that the senator/congressman can help a lot with expedite. We don't need any of that anymore and have cancelled it all, but those were the steps we were going to take.

Good luck to everyone!

EAD Card without Biometrics
I just want to share my experience and hopefully, get your feedback as to your personal experiences too.

December 10, 2015 - I sent my request through mail last December 10, 2015 via USPS
December 17 - received an MMS from USCIS that they received it

Unfortunately, I also received a mail about the confirmation with my mispelled name on it, so I tried to correct by calling their hotline last January. Then I tried to check the status but the agent said that it still has not update as of yet.

I was worried that my waiting time would exceed 90 days to get my EAD card and I have several employment opportunities waiting for me so I had to email [email protected] to expedite my concerns last Feb 1, and they responded to me the following day advising me to do some steps, but didn't follow it, as USCIS customer hotline agent advised me that it's in a case to case basis and I have to support my request with a strong validation that I badly need my EAD ASAP.

Feb. 10 - checked my status online and surprised when I got this message as:
On February 9, 2016, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number SRC1xxxxxxxxx , to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by March 10, 2016, please go to www.uscis.gov/e-request to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

the same day, I called the USCIS hotline and entered my receipt number, hearing the same status update that my new card will be mailed.

I didn't go through the Biometrics, so there's no fingerprint in it for sure. I was thinking that my SSN is the key as to why it has been processed in less than 3 months (hoping that it is). I am on an L2 spouse visa.

Anybody here who can share your opinion on this? I cannot say that I'm already confident about receiving mt EAD card in few days until I have it on hand, knowing that USCIS advised me that they have a volume of request and it might take more than 90 days to wait until my request will be processed.

EAD experience and issues
Hi Guys,

this website was very informative for me and my husband, so I wanted to share my experience so far with our applications.

I got my I-140 (EB1.1) approved in September 2015.
Nov 01/15 - Sent Adjustment of Status package (I765, I131, I485) for myself and my husband (who is a dependent).
Nov 05/15 - USCIS received the packages (Nebraska Center).
Nov 08/15 - Received the notices for all six forms
Dec 31/15 - No biometrics done so far, put in an online service request for Biometrics.
Jan 04/16 - Notice that they received the SR
Jan 08/16 - Notice with date for biometrics for me and my husband
Jan 18/16 - Biometrics done (both of us)
Jan 20/16 - First SR online (76th day) for EAD application for me and my husband
Jan 24/16 - Notice that we will get a response within 60 days as they are experiencing delays in processing applications.
Feb 03/16 - Second SR online (91 day; beyond regulatory timeframe and expedite) for EAD applications for me and my husband.
Feb 08/16 - One notice received for my husband saying that the decision will be made shortly. Nothing for my application
Feb 09/16 - Status for my husband's EAD and I131 changed to approved and the card is being produced. My status still says "Case been Received".

It is quite surprising that one person in the same family gets the EAD approved before the other. Also, I am the person who got the I140 approved and my husband is a dependant. It's really weird how things are handled. Anyone had similar experience? Please share your experience with us.
Good luck to all of you.

EAD being transferred to different offices
Hello All,

I filed my EAD on Nov 02, 2015, based on adjustment of status. Filing centre was Nebraska. it's been 100 days now. Within this time frame, my EAD has been transferred 3 times to different service centres. Has anyone in this forum encountered such an incident? I raised an SR on the 91st day. But the service I got was that an officer is working on my case, an I need to wait another 60 days.

L2 EAD experience with Nebraska SC and RFE
Hi guys,

I would like to share my expierence and help to prevent mistakes. My timeline:
Oct 7 2015- USCIS received notice
Dec 23 2015- SR of pending case on 75th day. Receive general answer that I should wait additional 60 days and than I should contact again. After my case was pending for 90 days, I called again, but representative explained that I should wait.
Jan 15 2016 my attorneys contacted tier 2 representative, another SR. Jan 24 receive an answer that I should receive decision or notice shortly
Jan 28 2016 (after my case was pending 113 days) status changed, that USCIS mailed me RFE.
Feb 9 2016 (after 12 days!!!) received RFE from USCIS, which stated that my photos were previously used and can not be used for EAD.
Feb 10 2016 will send new photos with priority mail.

So guys, make sure your photos are in compliance with I765 instructions, which state, that:
You must submit two identical color photographs of yourself taken within 30 days of filing your
application.

And photos for EAD can not be used on previously issued document!

Will update my expierence.
