I140/I485 and other applications was filed in dec 2016 under EB1 . we have recieved EAD . but today recieved RFE for I140.Still waiting for the mail though. Any ideas why RFE on I140 would be. Inputs would be great
My I140 has been approved (EB1 category) and my dependent has got the EAD card. However, my EAD card is still pending. I checked my online status almost 15 days ago and it said "Request for additional evidence has been mailed to you". I haven't received anything from them yet.
Is this normal for the mail to get delayed? How long (maximum) does it take for the RFE to arrive after the online status is updated?
I am worried because what if the letter has been misplaced and they are expecting a response from me while I am still waiting.
Did anyone experience such situation?
I would like to ask this: I received an RFE for gonorrhea and mailed the results last Thursday to TSC through USPS first class. I totally forgot to make it a certified mail but the USPS tracking said the packet was delivered last Monday, April 17th. Is it worrying that I had it mail without a signature receipt? Also, how long does it usually take for the USCIS to update the case to RFE response received.
After what felt like an eternal wait, on April 13th, USCIS approved my I-485. I say *almost* there because my kids and I have been approved by my wife got an RFE. Here's my timeline
Canadian citizen (ROW), EB-3, Texas processing center (TSC)
02-28-2014 filed for H1B (from TN since you can't apply for GC from TN)
04-29-2014 Received H-1B receipt notice from USCIS
07-22-2014 Received H-1B Cap Notify the Office approval notice from USCIS
11-11-2014 Start PERM/Labor certification process
09-22-2015 PERM/Labor certification filed
02-29-2016 PERM/Labor certification approved
04-20-2016 filed I-140
07-11-2016 I-140 approved
10-20-2016 Adjustment of status filed
11-18-2016 received biometric appointment
11-23-2016 received I-485 receipt
04-13-2017 I-485 approved
It's been a long process. Especially since I didn't include the false starts in 2011 and 2013, but after 8.5 years in the US, I finally feel a little bit more at ease with my future.
Silent reader with a question: My husband (primary) got his I-485 approved, but me and our 5 year old got issued a RFE. Anyone have a similar experience?
Also here is our timeline so far: (TSC)
Nov 2016: I-140 got approved (premium processing)
Dec 2016: I-484, I-131 filed for all, I-765 filed for me and the husband
Feb 2017: Biometrics done
Mar 2017: I-131 and I-765 approved for me and the husband, EAD/AP received
Apr 2017: I-484 for the husband approved
Apr 2017: Today: RFE for me and our 5 year old
This has been a long journey but it is finally over. All thanks be to GOD! The company I work for filed my PERM since 2015. Here is my timeline:
My priority date - September 30th 2015
I140 denied in May 2016, resubmitted and approved in November 2016.
Bio-metrics done on 2/7/2017
EAD and travel parole approved on 3/17/2017
I-485 approved on 4/4/2017
Just got card in the mail today. I live in Dallas and my lawyer filed at the TX office. Best wishes to everyone still waiting.
