How to get status of 221g Administrative Processing
Hi All,
I have attended my first H1B visa interview.
I had visa interview on Feb-16th in Chennai consulate. They have provided blue slip with 221g Administrative process (No documents required) and given back my passport also. I am checking the status in online which is showing "Administrative Processing" for last 10 days along with case created and updated date.

Is there any other way to contact them to get my status? I am wonder since they are not looking for any documents then why they have given 221g. It is kind of frustration for everyday.

Need help with stamping question
Here is the scenario:
I have my VISA stamp expired in 2015
Now, I have my H1B approved from July 28, 2018
I am traveling to India in 2 weeks and will be back on May 22, 2018
Now, question is when I goto consulate for VISA stamping, which Receipt number (ending with 7/28 or starting with 7/28) should I provide. I am worried because if I provide the one starting from 7/28, I won’t be able to enter USA on 5/22.
Or Do I get both VISA stamps?
I am sure one of you has this scenario.

VO then issued 221g and told me we need 2-3 days to process you case and he said nothing to worry about.
on 21-March-2018 Visa status changed to Issued from Administrative processing. Picked up on 23-March-2018.
If your employer had submitted right documents with your H1b petition, then no need to worry about 221g.

H1B and H4 visa approved: Mumbai:March 19 and 20
I had first H1B stamping interview at Mumbai on 19th and 20th March 2018.. I was on OPT for 2 and half years before.
Visa interview was for 6 minutes:
VO asked very basic questions:
where do you work ? How long you have been working ? annual salary ? when did you start your OPT ? What your company is doing ?
VO asked my wife about her status. What she was doing in USA? working non- working ?
Make sure you have all the docs ready. VO asked me only I 797 and passport but prepared for all the docs: RESUME/Offer letter is must::
I took following docs: might help you::
I-797
pay slips
bank statements
tax documents
USA lease/living address proof
MS/BE transcripts
passing certificates
Resume
10/12 graduate certificates
all I20s
EAD cards
SSN card
USA driver license
Lease documents
company original offer letter
company profile
letter describing your job responsibilities in company: signed by manager/HR
My visa status was admin processing for 3 business days and changed to issues today.
Advise:
when you go for interview in consulate, listen to other interview questions: I was asked similar questions which were being asked to other people there. That helped. While answering question dont be over confidence. Dont talk too loudly. Be humble. try not to fumble. Make sure to talk flawlessly.
Dont over answer any question, keep it short and to the point.

h1b visa stamp of indian citizen in South Korea
Interview : 6th feb 2018, got 221g green form to know more details on me (resume, travel history. invite letter)
doc submitted over email : 13th feb.
asked for status over email : March 1st, response, wait for update
response on 8th match: processing is done, submit passport
passport recevied by consulate on 12th match
asked for passport status on 20th march, case escalated asked to wait for 48hr.
received update that passport is ready with visa.
passport delivered on 23rd march

I applied for h1b visa and my case went into administrative processing.
When I try to track my case number at the ceac website, it says invalid case number.
However, when I use my application number, the website shows that the case is under administrative processing. Has this happened to anyone else? Why is my case number not being recognized?

Administrative processing after verbal approval - Mumbai
Hi,
This is regarding H1B visa stamping ( from F1 Visa)
I appeared for biometrics on 19th March and Interview on 20th March
Officer asked me straightforward question about designation, name of university from where I did MS and my current location.
He verbally mentioned that my Visa is approved and that he will keep my passport.
I was not given any slip or additional form.
I work for a well known software firm in Bay Area and very sure my work does not come under TAL.
The visa status on CEAC mentions "Administrative Processing". The case was last updated on 23rd March.
The passport status on US traveldocs mentions "Your passport is with consulate"
I see quite a few facing same situation in different consulates.
Anyone from Mumbai consulate facing same issue and went for interview in past few weeks?
Any share about similar situation is deeply appreciated.
