H1B cleared after getting H4 stamping
Hi All,
My background: My husband and me came to India in Dec 2017 for visa stamping for H1B.
Both of us got 221g on our H1B. My husband got his visa issued on Feb1st 2018.

Now I have decided to convert for H4.
My question is:
What if i get my h4 stamping successfully and then I get an email that 221g is cleared and to submit passport
Can i submit my passport and get H1b stamped on it. Is it even valid?
What will happen to my h4 stamping that was done recently?

Anyone with similar experience? Any thoughts??

Successful H4 stamping after overstay
Hello, I am posting my wife`s H4 stamping experience after accidental overstay on her previous H4 visa.

This was my joint H1/H4 extension, we had the H4 stamped after marriage in Chennai and my company missed out on filing the H4 along with my H1 extension. When we realized the mistake it was already 17days of overstay, my wife immediately left the country and applied for the stamping via Dropbox. She was issued 221g to come to the interview after 3 days of administrative processing.

She went to stamping that Monday (Passport arrived previous thursday) she was asked a few routine questions about where she is going, how long she has lived in the US and so on. Nothing on Overstay.

VO said Visa is issued and the DS160 status changed to Issued the next day. She received the passport with VISA in a few days.

She had routine questions at POE and nothing related to Overstay.

We are really fortunate the way things ended it was three tension filled weeks.

Our company attorney (pretty reputed) helped us with decisions, also in terms of documentation they provided a letter explaining the overstay.

From whatever I have gathered from forums, it might be best approach to leave the country and go to home country to get a new stamp if the overstay is less than 180days, again this is my opinion and not legal advise.

H4 visa issued but H1b still under admin processing
Hello there ,

I’ve been working FT for a US firm since 8 years . I was on OPT and H1b with same company . I’m visiting my parents currently try . I submitted my documents for Dropbox on Feb 16 along with my wife’s H4. On Feb 21st my wife received an email that her passport is ready for pick up , but I didn’t receive one. I checked our visa status on Cracknell web site tonight and found that her visa (h4) is issued and mine (H1b) is still under admin processing. Can h4 be issued before having a decision on H1b. If any of you guys had the same experience before, can you let me know how long did it take for you to get status on your case.

Thank you
