h1b visa - 221g cleared
hi,

I have been following this thread for almost 3 months now and i wanted to share my husband's experience with his h1b visa stamping.

h1b visa 6th year extension [i140 approved ] - EVC model
he was eligible for drop box docs submission and submitted doc : 20 dec 2017
received his passport with blue slip 221g : 29 dec 2017
documents requested : original petition, employment agreement,SOW, employer and client contract docs including middle vendors, client letter in their letter head stating there is a vacancy for him, 2 years pay slips and w2.
he was asked to bring the above docs for an in person interview
he appeared for interview on 4 jan 2018
VO asked simple questions and asked for docs.
VO retained all docs except payslips and w2 and returned his passport back with another 221g blue slip saying he needs time to verify the documents.
My husband's client did not provide client letter so my husband submitted MSA, email exchange of vendor and client mentioning his employment start date ad that he has a long term position available, an email from his client side reporting manager stating that it is against client policy to pride client letter and he can be reached at to verify his employment or job position with his contact details.

after 6 weeks ,husband got an email from chennai consulate asking him to submit passport
passport submitted: 16 feb 2018
passport with visa stamping received: 23 feb 2018

 dont give up hope!!
all the very best and good luck to everyone waiting for visa stamping especially to those waiting on 221g clearance.

Average processing time for TAL applications
Hi

I think I'm being screened for TAL, based on the 221g documents I was asked to submit (resume/research/work experience/travel history, etc).
Does anyone know what's an average processing time when screened for TAL at New Delhi consulate? It's been over 4 weeks already for me.

Thank you.

dropbox experience
Feb 05 - Dropped passport at dropbox location for my H1b and spouse h4 renewal at chennai dropbox location
Feb 06 - Admin processing
Feb 08 - Both Passport returned, with 221g Blue slip attached to my passport only. 221g asked for in person interview at a given slot of 10-11Am at chennai consulate
Feb 12 - Me and my wife both went for the interview even though it did not specifically ask for spouse in 221g. One of the guys at the consulate had similar situation and did not get his spouse and the consulate pre screener guys asked him why he did nopt bring his spouse . Not sure if they let him continued with the interview or if he had to get his spouse.
Interview was easy and straight forward. Asked me about my job, salary , company (if i work for a client but told him I am a direct hire FT employee). VO did not ask my wife any question and visa was approved.
Passport arrived in few days for collection

H1B stamping delay more than 2 months
Hi All,

I would like to know anyone fall in the same bucket like me?

Submitted documents by drop box on 8th December 2017 @ Hyderabad consulate.

Case created : 11th Dec 2017.
Case last updated : 12th Dec 2017.

Didn't asked any additional documents since then and case last updated was also not changed after 12th Dec 2017.

My passports are still with them, i don't know why its tacking long process.

Called to consulate and emailed to them so many times, each time getting same the visa application is under processing at the Consulate. When additional administrative processing is required, the length of processing time will vary based on the circumstances of each case hence it cannot be expedited.

Please be assured that, once the processing is completed or if the Embassy needs further information, you will be contacted for the same.

Thank you.

221G blue after dropbox and 221G blue after consulate interview
Hi all,

I am sharing my recent VISA experience to see if anyone else is in the same condition so that we can communicate and get more updates.

I submitted my passport in dropbox on 1/24. Received it back with 221G blue slip on 2/2 asking to appear for VISA interview with client letter, Itinerary, VISA petition documents, contract between Contractor and client company, offer letter, employer's federal tax statements etc

Appeared for interview on 2/26(took 1 month to receive all the documents from employer).

VO asked few questions and gave me yellow slip and asked me to wait in lobby so that he will check the documents and get back to me. After sometime he called my name and handed my passport back with again a 221G blue slip and said no documents required from me and the application is under administrative processing and asked to check my mail for any further communications.

Is there anyone else in the same situation like mine?

H1b Stamping experience at Chennai consulate
Thank you all for sharing your experiences, they are really helpful.

Here is my H1B (EVC work model) stamping exp with timelines:

27-Dec-2017: Submitted drop box application with supporting documents at Cheannai VFS.
28-Dec-2018: Case created.
Later at some point status changed to "Administrative processing".
04-Jan-2018: My passport was sent back to VFC document collection center along with 221g.
Per 221g, I was asked to appear for interview in person with whole bunch of documentation (all most all the check boxes in the 221 g are tick marked).

I was able to arrange all the documents and appeared for interview at Chennai consulate on 12-Jan-2018 (took about a week to gather all the documentation, thanks to my petitioner).
Interview lost about 5-6 mins, and asked the following questions (not in exact order):
a) Who is the end client?
b) What is the work location?
c) Who is your petitioner?
d) What is your petitioner's business?
e) What is your title? Brief your duties?
f) What is your salary?
g) What is your highest education?
h) Show me your employment contract?
i) May i see your pay slips? What is the pay schedule? get paid once a month or twice a month?
j) How long have you been working with current employer? (its about an year)
In between these questions, VO was trying to find more information about my petitioner (not sure, in the web or may be in their database) and called another VO asking some information.

At the end, VO asked me for my updated resume and i gave her my resume.
She took a form and issued me 221g and told me that she wanted some time to go over my resume.

Case last updated: 13-Jan-2018 with Status "Administrative processing"

No update in case until 13-Feb-2018.

Finally on 16-Feb-2018: Case status changed to "Issued".

Took about 7 weeks starting Drop box document submission until VISA was issued.

Back in US on 25-Feb, not many questions during immigration.
What's your title? How long are you with current employer? Work location? Asked to show my original approved petition I797. That's all.

H1b renewal stuck in 221g
Hey all,

There's my h1b renewal experience at New Delhi Consulate:

Submitted drop box documents: January 16th, 2018
Passport returned with a slip to appear for the interview: January 30th, 2018
Interview at New Delhi embassy: January 31st, 2018. I was asked to submit various documents like research/resume/travel history/job offer letter etc.
Documents submitted for 221g: February 1st, 2018

Online status: Administrative Processing, last updated: January 31st, 2018.

I'm a FT employee working with the same employer (reputed hardware company Intel/Qcomm/Nvidia like) from the past 4 years.
This is my first h1b renewal. Didn't get 221g in for the first H1b stamping but got one for F1.

How long will this processing take? Is there anything I can do to expedite this? Anyone else in similar boat like me?

Thanks

Questions asked:

1. Marriage date ?
