  • Hi all,
Does anyone had their asylum based green card processed by the national benefit center? I sent my application to the Dallas lockbox and receive my receipt today with case being processed by the benefit center. I am confused as my application should be at the Nebraska or Texas center. Please share your experience if you have gone through this. How did it work and how long did it take? Thank you

          • Hey guys,
I’m just curious if any applications have been approved in TSC less than 15months. Almost all I read here is more than 25months. If you heard or you know someone, can you share your thoughts/experiences?

                • Hello everyone,

I filed to renew my travel document a while ago in December while my green card was still pending. I have not heard anything from the uscis yet. I tried to get in touch with them via the phone and can't get to connect with a live agent. Any suggestion on how to get a hold of a uscis agent over the phone? Also, because my i-485 was still pending when i filed my i131, I did not submit a check with my application. Now that I have already received my gc, what should I expect? Will they ask for a check or just deny my application? Anybody had a similar experience? Any piece of information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

i been through same situation when my ead was expired and i need to renew my driving license. I went to dmv and they said without ead they will not renew it and i showed my approval letter with indefinite i-94 but this guy on front desk was so ignorant to process it and denied me. I called their supervisor and she doesn’t know what to do, i made her to call her superiors and get the answer from them and she was told by her superiors that i should be allow to renew my license and then she asked them what expiry date to put on and she was told to put 10 years and she did and i was given my driving license which had 10 years of expiry. I live in new york and there is law which protect our rights its just those people in dmv don’t know. I would suggest you to go back and fight for it, talk to superiors and made them talk to their bosses if they don’t know. It has nothing to do with state law as uscis is federal agency and every state has obligations to follow those federal laws. Good luck
i spoke with a manager too last year. Same thing. In fact they were ready to use a cop on me to escort out. I said tell me in writing why you’re refusing. She ignored. No dmv sucks. I will try again but due to Covid wait is 2 months + just get an application. NYC might be nicer but NJ sent me away.

what is save system? Which state?

i think they can’t issue without looking into a federal database and linking it up to that.

These stupid Dmv ppl don’t know that our social security is unrestricted and all the databases have us as permanent residents.
I was lucky enough to use my refugee document after fighting with them. They used refugee doc expiration and currently both are expired. They didn’t wanna accept I-94 alone.

now I have to pay fees again and again. First to ead, then refugee card then green card, which is paid already, and the license ppl again. Amazing treatment.

do everything right and still nothing happens.

                          February 28, 2020 - second biometric
case status now: case updates for showing fingerprints (same status almost a year).
I am trying to contact USCIS 2 times with congressman - answer is a general: your case in normal processing time.

One question what I want to ask: when you got GC, this GC from witch date? Asylum approval or From date you file I-485?

I received my GC and I am happy but at the same time I’m pissed because it’s back dated to 2020 not even to the date when I filed the application. Now instead of waiting 2more years to be eligible to apply for passport I have to wait 4 more years. I mean I am happy that I got GC but also I am pissed. Like it’s not our fault that USCIS works slower than a snail. I never left this country, I was a good working civilian who payed taxes. why this time wile I was waiting on the decision from USCIS doesn’t count at all. I think one year backdate was okay when they were processing all GC applications within a year. Now it looks like a total BS.
