Re-Scheduling Of Nonimmigrant Visa Appointments Made Between December 30, 2005
Nonimmigrant Visas
Important Information About The Re-Scheduling Of Nonimmigrant Visa Appointments Made Between December 30, 2005 And January 31, 2006

***(This only applies to appointments made with VFS.)***
A regrettable error has resulted in an over-scheduling of nonimmigrant visa appointments for December 30 and for each day in January. The Consulate does not have sufficient staff to process the overbooking and we have been forced to re-schedule some January appointments to February.

We apologize for the inconvenience the re-scheduling may cause applicants and we shall make sure that applicants who booked an appointment in January will be accommodated by the end of February. In an effort to accommodate all applicants, the Consulate plans to open on two Saturdays in January (the 7th and the 21st) and three Saturdays in February (the 4th, 11th and 25th).

VFS will inform applicants of their new appointment date via e-mail or telephopne. Applicants who come on the originally scheduled date will not, repeat, not be processed. Please bring the VFS e-mail with you. The text of the e-mail is as follows:

“Dear Applicant,

“The Consulate General of the United States of America regrets to inform you that your appointment has been changed from January____________, 2006 to February________, 2006 as detailed below.

“Due to an error, there has been a significant overbooking in the nonimmigrant visa appointments scheduled for the month of January 2006. The Consulate has been forced to move some appointments from January to February”.

“We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Please note the time and date of your new appointment and be assured that we shall process your application on that date.

“Please do not come to the Consulate on the date originally scheduled, as your name will not be in our records and we will not be able to process your application.

“If the new date is not convenient, please reschedule an appointment in March or April or later in the year. You may only reschedule via the VFS website after your original appointment has passed.”

In re-scheduling the overbooked appointments, we have moved all appointments made for December 30, 2005 to January 7, 2006. We have not changed any student visa appointments except for those scheduled on December 30th.

Please do not request an emergency appointment during January and February 2006. If any surplus capacity does become available, we shall add it to the VFS website.

Again, we regret the inconvenience this has caused you just as we regret the additional work that it has made for us.

Regarding 221g DOCS- Urgent Request - please advise
Hi,

I have got 221g and asked to get the additional documents & drop into TTS Drop box. Now my employer has prepared the documents .

In this regard I would like to know that FAX or E-mail of the documents from my employer is OK.

Is that OK if I take printout ( offcourse here paper size will be different from US paper size) of these documents and drop in the TTS drop box.

OR

ONLY the Original Documents must me given to the consulate.

Please advise.....

Thanks in advance

Successful Stamping of H1B & H4 at Delhi Consulate
I've been following this site since a month and wud like to sincerely thanks all the people who update their experiences on this site.SO i decided to post mine so that it may help other people like us who will go to US embassy for the first time for their visa stamping. Its quite natural that every1 is worried before the interview but thats for sure that if one is confidant and well dressed, everything wud be gud.
We had our interview on 30th Dec'05 (0845 hrs slot) & received our visa on 3rd Jan'06 as there were New year off's for the embassy in between.

The Interview went somewat like this :

VO: Gud, how much experience do u have in total with this current employer?

VO: How did u get to know about ur employer?

VO: Its been how many years of ur marriage?
Me: 2Y 2m

VO(to my wife): Is he correct
Wife: Ofcourse yes,sir !!

VO(to my wife): Do u have a kid??
Wife: No sir!

VO(to my wife):Have u ever been to US before, maa'm?

My application is refused for not having client letter..
The important thing is non-IT background persons, prepare for technical interview.

All questions are general questions.

VO asked me to bring letter from end client.

What should i do? Every body knows that in US, end clients will not give client letters. My petitioner also says the same.

I do not know how to bring that client letter..
Can any one help me in this regard?
Thanks,

Succesful H-1 at Chennai
I was following this site for the last two months. It is infact the best website for all H-1 aspirants.
I attended the US Consulate on January 3rd
I went to the interview with all the necessary documents.I work for a Top Indian Company.
As my slot was in the afternoon there was not much crowd for the interview.

The Interview went on like this .
VO : Good Afternoon Sir.How are doing Sir?
Me : Fine.Good Afternoon Sir

VO : Give me your folder.
Me : Passed the same

He looked at my folder and checked with up with his system .I was refused a F-1 Visa in 2002.

VO : Why was your previous Visa refused?
Me : Bla bla bla

VO : Can I see your GRE & TOEFL scores if you have them?
Me : Passed the same.

VO : Since long you r working with YYYY company?
Me : XX years XX months

VO : Can I see your graduation certificates?
Me: Passed them.

VO : He checked my certificates carefully.he looked even at the scores. He finally said that My
scores in Computing are good

* Important to people other than computer science background.
As I was a graduate in Computer Science,I did not get any problem here. Two guys who went to the VO before me are not computer science graduates.they are screwed up the VO.Looking at their certificates VO directly said they are academically not qualified for the post in USA.
One guy showed VO that he has more than 6 years in Software industryHe got the Visa.
The other guy who couldn't convince the VO got 221(g).
So get prepared before going for the interview.
Don't worry .VO officers are really good.

VO : Where are you going to work?
Me : YYYY company in USA

VO : Here you go.Iam approving your visa.Have a good trip.
Me: (I didn't hear this properly as I was tensed a bit)

Me : Pardon me Sir
VO : Goto counter 1 and pay your fees.
Me : Thank you sir.

It was indeed a good experience.
I wish the h-1 aspirants all the best.

Got H1B from New Delhi
First I would like to thank God for helping me in my interview and then all the people who have posted their experiences in this site as it helped me a lot before going for the interview. Hence I had decided that I will also post my experince so that it will benefit others like me who are going to the embassy for the first time. My interview was in December but I got bit late in posting as I got bit busy with my work after interview.

So my interview was on a Friday. I made the booking just 2 weeks ago as I got all my papers then only. One thing is that if you try again and again you may get an early date. When I reached the embassy I had seen people who had made booking 4 months ago also.
My time was 11:15 AM. At New Delhi they allow you to go inside 15 min. early. so my appointment papers were checked and I was made to stand in the queue. I had to stand in this queue till 1:00 PM. Then my papers were checked by the people sitting inside through window which is outside. Here they check your form and draft and other things and put some sticker on your passport and stample your document and form to your passport. Then you are asked to go inside.
Some security checks are there.
Then the next line starts which will ultimately lead you you the counselor officer. Here again you will have to stand for 2 hours. My chance came around 3:15 PM. So remember its a total 4-5 hours of standing in the queue and be prepared for that.

Now the main part Interview:

My interview was taken by an officer who was from US. First he asked for main documents and notice.
Then started the interview. Some questions.

1.What is your company doing there?
2.What will you do there?
3.Will you be working for some client?
4.How much experine you have
5.Show your degree certificates
6.Show your resume.
7.show photographs of your company in US.
8.show tax papers of your company
9.Do you know c and c++.
10.Diference between c & c++
11.What is oops?
12.What are stacks and queues.
and some more questions from c & c++.

Finally he said your visa has been granted and vfs will send your passport. Thanks!

I received my passport by courier on next wednesday.
I was wearing suit and tie.

This is my experince.
hope that it will be beneficial for people like me in going for the interview.
