 - If you don't receive any mail from VFs- implies your appointment made is valid and you can attend
 - Any last date for receiving mail prior to the current appointment date..suppose my interview is on 4th means i should receive a mail on or before 29th (something like that)

H1 & H4 on Dec 20 @ Chennai
I attended H1 interview on Dec 20th, 2005 at Chennai consulate with my wife and kid. We all got through.

There were 2 rejects before me. I was well prepared with documentation including Client letter. I am engineer and went to US on B1 earlier.

Note: Don't lean on the VO's desk. VO can listen to us through Microphone much better. While I was there one of the VO gave warning to a guy leaning on to the desk.

VO: Good afternoon, how are you?
Me: Afternoon, I am fine, how are you?
VO: Not so bad. Give me your file
VO: How long you were in US earlier?
Me: 3 months
VO: Where will you be working in US?
Me: X City, Y State
VO: What does the Client do?
Me: Explained in details about the business of Client.
VO: What will you do for the Client?
Me: Explained about my role and responsibilities.
VO: Give me your Degree certificate?
Me: Shown
VO: Give me your current employer appointment letter.
Me: Shown
VO: When did you come back to India last time?
Me: Jan, 2004

VO spent 10 minutes verifying the Client and Petitioner's letters. Then he turned to me and said, I am going to issue you a visa. You can go and pay the fee in counter 1.

Need help
Hai frnds,

Iam ravi. I have attended for H1B at Chennai consulate three times. First time i have attended on Sep28th then i was not having relevant information about the project, so they hav issued me with 221g. The second time i have attended in Oct with client name and project details, but they again asked me to bring the complete itinerary of project and marketing analysis of project. So, my employer has produced me with contract letter made between my employer and client. The third time i have attended on Dec 13th with contract agreement and letter from client stating that i will be working for the project. But this time the VO told me that these papers are not sufficient so, asked me to bring Complete itinerary of project,Technical description of project, and a letter from client.

I hav explained my employer about this. He is now saying that as my travel has delayed for 2 months, the client has recruited some other person for the project, so asking me to say that i will be working at emplyer's place in-house. Also he is telling that he wil provide all the details(about project). Does it make sense going to the consulate and telling that the project has been changed and there is no client letter. I want suggestion from u people in this.... I'll b waiting for ur reply. Thanks,

H1B @ chennai
I was a regular follower of this site from 3-4 months.
I attended Interview @ chennai Consulate on 22nd of Dec for H1B VISA.The rush was soo huge around 200-250 memebers and it took 4 hrs for everyone including F1,L1,H1B, H4, B1 etc.

All the VO's are tough. Please be sure to get thorough on the projects u have done in India.

1.Carry a Client letter stating ur requirement for them
2. Agreement between the client and the employer.

3.All the inside/outside photographs of the employer/client.

And be prepared on the project u r going to work there in US.
Without preparation of all this its waste to attend VISA now.The trend is like that.
They are simply giving 221(g) for everyone.
So,be bold..be confident
Wish all a good luck
