H1 B refused once
I read the experiences posted by various guys who visited for their H1 stamping. Really it is very much helpful for the guys who are going to appearing for an interview.
I was refused H1B in 2000 Dec saying that my case need to be further investigated and told me that it may take some time to get back. and written (g) in the last page of my passport. I am from NON IT background (B.E Production).
After that I had never sent mail requesting for status. But recently (last July) I sent a mail to Chennai Consulate asking whether I can reapply? For the same they replied that I can re apply for H1 B if I have fresh H1 B petition.
One of brother in law in US had applied for H1 B in last July now I got fresh H1 B papers and I got appointment in Jan-06 ending. I have genuine exp. Of 1 ½ yrs as Development Lead in one of the MNC in HYDERABAD. Before that I was in abroad (Uganda) as IT consultant for 2 1/2 yrs. totally I have about 5 yrs of genuine experience in India and Abroad. Also I had PGDCA from an institute and Sun certification (SCJP).
Now based on my NON IT degree whether Chennai consulate reject/Refuse Visa? If any body with same background and refused earlier may post their expeiences or send me mail please.

The interview goes like this

VO: Who is your employer in US?
Me: XYZ.

Me: I would like to get international exposure which will help me when i will come back to india.
VO: Can i have your company photographs?
Me: Handover the photographs cover.
VO: Where is your family?
Me: Here in Mumbai?
VO: Are they travelling with you?
Me: No they will join me later.
VO: How many employees working for US Company?
Me: More than 123?
VO: What is your current Job profile?
Me: I am working as Project lead and responsible for Design and developing applicaiton.

VO: Can you brief me about your current project?
Me: Brief him about the project.
VO: What was the reason for your B1 rejection in year ZZZ?
Me: That was company's fault. They have applied for B1 visa immediately after joining.
Be confident and carry all the required papers... No need to worry.

Got H1-B from Chennai consualte
I got the H1 from chennai consulate.Thanks to all the people who post their experience on this site.

me: Bangalore.
VO : Could you show me your degree certificate?
Me : sure and I pass my degree certification.
VO : Could you show me your marksheet?
Me : Sure and I passed my marksheets.
VO : Wait for some time.
I was waiting for 10 min and then VO came and give all the marksheet and degree certificate to me.
VO: which company r u going to joine there?
Me : YYYY XX
VO: Do u have any information abt the project?
Me: I told it is the developemtn company and u can contact Mr.XX from this company abt my work assignment.I am going to work from my employer place.
VO : Do u have any letter from employer?
Me: I passed my offer letter.
He checked the offer letter and type the URL of my company in his browser and after 10 mins , he told me to pay my fees.
This was my experience.According to me if u have all the document from you employer then u do not need to worry abt it. and fornately VO has not asked any question abt the client and project.

Hi Srikanth V,
Yes, you can take your wife along when you go for your H1 interview. These are the documents your wife will need to carry along (wherever applicable).
1. Original Marriage Certificate.
2. Marriage Ceremony Photographs – 10 Number (Preferably in crowd).
3. Applicant’s original passport.
4. Photocopies of all 36 pages of Principal applicant’s passport.
5. Latest I-94 copy with US Arrival Stamping Seal in the passport.
6. Photocopies of all 36 pages of passport of all applicants.
7. Copy of Principal applicant’s complete set of Approval documents.
8. One photograph of the applicant. (Exactly 50mm*50mm without borders.)
9. Contact Details: Include Address
a. Residence No.
b. Mobile
10. Letter from Principal Applicant’s company stating the relationship, and reason for travel.
11. Latest Pay stubs (2).
Also, she will need to fill out the DS-156 form seperately.
Make sure that you modify the appointment (visa interview appointment) to include your spouse's details.

Hi,
I am a BSC(Computer Sc) graduate with total 4yrs of exp in IT. I got my H1 papers and will be attending interview in Dec 1st week. My doubt is, will BSC Computer science be considered as tech back ground? and has any one with BSC got the visa. Pls share u r exp. Thanks in advance

Procedure for getting interview date as per new rules
Hi
Took interview date today from Mumbai VFS office.Date given here is the same as that of the online system,so it hardly matters if u go all the way to Mahalaxmi and get date or get a date online by just the click of buttons.I was not sure where to go first of all to take interview date i.e. at the Consulate or the VFS office.but anyhow i reached VFS office by 8 a.m. so that i can be among the first ones to get the interview date .
Procedure:
Outside the officers would check your Passport and DS 156-57 and then give a token number.
Go downstairs in the compound where the Officer would check all the details of your passport ,forms etc . and then ask you to go to any of the counter for getting interview Date.
Required Docs
1.Receipt of Rs 4400 and Rs 276 from HDFC bank.(There are only 5 designated banks in mumbai,so please check0.
2. DD for Rs 2200 from HDFC preferablly(I had not taken it but thankfully HDFC was close to VFS office ,so didnt take me time)
3.Photocopy of I-797
4.Photocopy of Passport
5.Original filled and signed DS -156
6.Original filled DS-157
7.There is another form which the officer inside hands out to fill.It includes ur educational backgroud and kind of experience u r having,roles and responsibilites in ur present job and skills which would be useful for your job in US.
8.Last but not the least ,original PASSPORT.
There is no need to carry anythnig else along with you ,since they dont allow anything (even mobile phones) inside compound.
I ,myself had to put my backpack in some nearby shop and pay for that also.:-))
So Cheers to all those waiting to get petitions and raring to get VISA

How did you get this job?
Have you done masters in computers?
I have answered all the questions proprely and then I was asked to get a letter from end Client?
Does any one have the same kind of query earlier.

Hi,
I appeared for stamping in the Singapore US Consulate today(07-Nov-05) for H1B visa and I have been directed to appear for stamping at Chennai consulate under section 221(g).Do I have to book an appointment through TTS visas for this or can I walk-in on any working day ? Do i have to pay the fees again ?
Appreciate if some one could throw some light on this.
