On Nov 3rd, i went to chennai consulate for H1-B stamping, my visa got rejected and consular kept my original I-797 and I-129. I wanted to know whether anybody got such type of situation, and how can you apply again if you don't have approval.

date for interview
there is the possibility that you could be directed to attend interview at Chennai, hence you may loose the valuable time, my suggestion is to apply to chennai itself. regarding the dates available, it is alarming esp in chennai, but I dont know how to go about it, right now there is no date available at all. I was having feeling that once VFS comes into play, the system will be more streamilned, but it is much worse. i am supposed to join on Nov 1 2005, I dont know what to do

Query - anybody attend at new delhi embossy through vfs but belongs to channai
Hi This is vijay sekhar currently working in Hyderabad from last 3 years on Java/J2EE.Previously I had book the web appointment through ttsvisas.com fro chennai consulate as I belong to that region.But due to some inevitable conditions I didn't attend that. As everybody knows the vfs system came into existance.But the earliest dates available for chennai consulate are beyond March 2006.So I had booked the appointment for new delhi embossy.But vfs call center people saying that you must stay/work there atleast from past 6 months.Moreover saying that most probably they will reject my application.
My query is - Is anybody from chennai region booked the slot for new delhi embossy through vfs.If then what is the result i.e.,Is the visa issuied or rejected or only the application is rejected?
help/suggestion/experience from persons, who met the above criteria is welcome.

Interview date
I have got H1B for a job in a university in USA joining date for me is on Nov 1 2005, I am not getting any date for interview at the earliest

Hi Srini,
I too have experienced the same 221g in the year 2001 stating that my case had been suspended. I have waited quite long and on top of that I have sent couple of mails to US consulate at chennai but I havent received any acknowledgemet from consulate. I advise you to better send mail to consulate at KL requesting the procedure/guidelines regarding next course of action on your case. Hope it helps...

221g received from Malaysia
Hi friends,
I recived 221g on 9th sept, and then later i recvd fax on 22nd Sept reg additional documents. after i collected all those documents, and again i went to put in to the drop box on 25th Oct, but when i went to collect my passport on 31st Oct ,white lady was sitting in security room and gave me all my original docs and one letter typed on 21st Oct from VO written that " Based upon the documents you have submitted to us , and the information elicted in your interview with the US consular officer, you do not appear to be qualified for H1-B temporary work visa, action on your case has been suspended, and I-129 petition will be returned to USCIS.......". what that means.Guys, is anybody facing the similar problems.
Can i request them to redirect to chennai.
once refused in Malaysia US consulate, will it be possible to get in chennai consulate. coz most of them here dont know abt our india education.....the worst part was they never give me any feedback abt my case and also mentioned that they dont want to give any info reg my petition.
All my papers,certs and experience are original .

i went for h1 stamping to london in sep 2005.
first i was interviewed for 4-5 minutes ,then the visa oficer told me that since you have an indian passport and also your bachelors degree is from india .so you must go to india for h1 visa interview.the officer also told me that she is not in a position to verify my bachelors degree.so she directed me to india and she told me that she will be writing a letter to usa consulate in india that i have been directed to india for intyerview from london but she didnt give me that letter(in which she had asked usa consulate in india to interview me).all i was given was a 221g refusal letter.Also she returned my passport with 221g stamp at back page.

H1-B LONDON (G) DEGREES AND COMPANY INVESTIGATION
Here is how my H1-B Visa Interview went on 19th October at LONDON Consulate.
ME: Good afternoon!
VO: hi there….
ME: hi there
VO: How long have you been here?
ME: Over 3yrs
VO: How did you get this offer (U.S)?
ME: Applied over internet at www.dice.com. I wrote on a paper as she asked me to do so.
VO: Pass on your degree?
ME: Passed on my MS Computing degree from UK.
VO: Is the only degree you got?
ME: Sorry. Passed on my UG and PG Diplomas.
VO: She started reading my MS degree and tampering university seal (seems like she was trying to peel off the university seal). She spent long time on the degree.
VO: We got to investigate your degrees and Company. It may take 14 to 16 weeks or 60days as we have number of applications in queue. Do you want to withdraw or keep your application?(I am not quite sure whether she has asked me ‘ you want to apply in INDIA or not?)

H1B suscessful stamping - NO QUESTIONS- NO DOCUMENTS

Today I got my H1B visa stamped from Toronto Consulate. Im from India and working in Toronto on Canadian work permit. My visa was approved without any questions or seeing any documents. The visa officer simply said everything seems fine and your visa is approved.
