H1-B approved
Hi,
I got my H1-B approved yesterday in Chennai. My interview was scheduled for 4:45 pm. In the entrance of the embassy, there was a check for passport and we receipt. After it was checked I was let in the main gate at 4:30 pm for security check.After security check I was let in another gate where there was some 4 counters. After paying Rs 441 draft to TTS service, I was asked to stand in counter 1. In the counter 1 the lady took draft for Rs 4400 and asked me to go to counter 4. In the counter 4 he will ask for the green receipt and the green folder. he will arrange all the documents in the green folder and handed me the green receipt with number on it. After that I went to another building where the interview is being held.
After entering the building I was asked to wait in chair. I was then called by the number in the green receipt and was given the green folder with all the documents. I was then asked to stand in the Queue for finger prints. Iwas then asked to go to counter 13 where I gave my finger prints and the green folder. After verifying the green folder, he asked me to go to counter 8.
I was waiting in counter 8 when again I was asked to go to Counter 7 where one US lady interviewed me.
here is the transscript of the interview.
Me: Good evening officer
Off: Who is the client?
Me: Client name is xxxxxxx
Off: Tell me about the project?
Me : described about the project
Off: Why have they selected you for the project?
Me : I am working in this project for more than a yr
Off: Why isnt ur wife going with U?
Me: She is working in a critical project in her company. She will join me after completing the project
Off: Do you have childen?
Me: No
Off: Show me your degree certificate:
Me: Showed the original certificate
Off: Pay your VISA fees in counter 1. your Visa is approved.
Me: Thank you officer
The whole process took less approx an hour. Be confident in your answers and keep all the documents as per checklist.

I had interview on 12th oct in London.
I was asked to go INDIA.And she stamped application received (g).
She(VO) even didnt ask me any questions.
Is anyone can give advice.
will i get visa if i go to chennai.

Just i want know how to take the appointment to attend the counsilate?
After the October 2nd the rules were changed to take the appointment.

I got the H1 B today from Mumbai..
Was a good experience of life.....
In fact , the lady in front of me (H4) and the man behind me (H1 B ) , in the queue also got through with the later being a diploma holder with 12 + years of experience.
Moral of the Story : BE CONFIDENT... LOOK INTO EYES AND GIVE POINT Blank answers.
The Indian lady (H4 candidate who was speaking english in quite a american accent) who was ahead of me just finished her interveiw and said a thank you to the officer , collected her papers and was coming out...
I was a bit consious and generally am a courteous person ...I opened the door for her while she was coming out and conveyed my congratulations to her.
I entered in....
Me : Good morning Sir..
VO :How are you today....
Me :I am very fine , Hope the same with you...
VO : So where are you going
Me : <TOwn name> , California
VO : This town name should not be spelt like this, as you just did. It should be properly spelt /pronounced . It should be pronounced as - - - - .
ME : Oh ...Ok....Thanks for correcting me , sir...
VO : So how you came to know about this job.
Me :Referred by an X-collegue and a good friend of mine.
VO:So what does this company do....
Me: Explained to him (- 10 second answer).
V) : What is your role there ?
ME: Explained him the role - 10 seconds answer.
VO:Are you married?
Me :YEs sir
VO : How long ?
Me :, Two years.
VO : Are you not taking your wife ?
Me : No sir....Not as on date.
VO : Why ?
Me : SHe is presently working in Mumbai in a software firm . Her role in her current project is quite a responsible role . This project will finish in 6 months time and will also add value to her Career...Hence we will decide post her project in Mumbai gets completed.

VO: You have already been to the US for 3 months on a business visa, 2 years ago . Am i right ?
ME:Yes sir
VO : Can i see your old expired passport on which this business visa is stamped.
Me : Sure Sir... Handed over to him my old expired passport which had a business visa stsmped.
VO : Ok ...... Have a nice trip and all the best . You will recive your passport by courier shortly...
Me : Thank you sir and you have a nice day ahead !!
I came out and waited for the person behind me .
He too came out positive...
Be straight..DO not deviate from the topic...Give point blank answers.... Look straight in to his eyes and answer the questions.......
I observed for once that though he was trying to ignore me and doing something on his PC , he was observing/looking at me and my body language sharply from his corner eye....
AND all , please wear/dress formally .... Some kind of an attire which will strike his/her eyes...
Your dressing style and the way you present yourself is very important... That is the first impression which you will create on him...
