H1B approved within 2-3 minutes
Hi People.

My H1B visa interview appointment was on 27th Sept 2005. It was quite an experience as i was very tensed about what questions would be asked, as i knew they can ask anything out of the blue. But i was prepared with all the proofs. i.e. carry all your company's docs and yours. I had all my degree and other certificates and letters in place, i had reqstd my employer's ( in US) company brochure as well, My interview went like this:
He: Hi
Me: Hi. Good morning.
(i handed him the pink slip, after a minute of checking some details on his system)
He: what's going to be your work?
Me: I'll be working as YYYY , with the (company name).
He: how did you know of this company.
Me: Monster.com
He: What are their clients?
Me: given 3-4 client's names and handed over the brochure.
He: Where are you currently employed?
Me: Gave current employer's name and my designation here.
The Interviewer then fanned thru my passport pages, saw my previous visa, checked something on the system.
He: Alright you are granted your H1B visa and you'll recv your passport within 3 days.

Now let me tell you. don't be nervous before him, all of us are tensed, because, it is just a matter of 2-3 minutes in front of the visa officer, where he can determine, whether or not to grant the visa. therefore, listen to his question properly, and answer only how much is asked. do not give more than what is asked. have a good presence of mind when you are asked. He has no interest in letting you down, all he needs to know is if you can communicate and respond well. Stay calm in front of him. Tell yourself that this is not the end of the road. If it does'nt happen, God has something better in store for you, if you think like this just before entering the booth, see how calm and confident you'll feel.
Remember When God closes a door, he opens a window somewhere.

All the best to all those who will be appearing for the interview shortly. Do write to me if you need to clarify anything.
Cheers.

Hi Everyone

I have my interview in 5 days at New Delhi. For some reason they have listed Mumbai consulate as the one they notified on the I-797 (prob because my company has a branch there). I only found out recently. Is this going to be a problem while applying at New Delhi?

Thanks

My Bad!!
I had a worst day today i was with my pregnant wife I never had a bad experience like this. I never ever wanted to be in US, I just want there to go for b1 trips.

I realised today that the person there can screw your life so no one should not go there if u love simple living in India any ways he fixed me for 2 things

1. My consultant will he pay me in bench period.
2. And who took ur interview for this firm.

He rejected mine with 221g case, and I gave that to my consultant and I guess he does not want to give me all that details any ways I am not forcing him for that as I m happy here and donot want any one to screw my carrer, for the first time i was scared so badly and worried as it has negetative effect on my wifes health as she is carrying these days.

Once I came back to hyd I called my mother she said it is nice that u didnot get the visa, I did not say to her that i was more interested not to go....

Any ways my employer did not revert back neither i ask him to revert back to me......

Thanks guys for reading my experience, it is not my cup of tree.... u guys go to US I would not like to go there.

H1B - Asked for more documents
Hello frnds,

Today I have gone for H1B interview. The interviewer was very cool and asked only 4 to 5 questions.

This is the conversation b/w me and interviewer

ME:Hello madam, How are you?
SHE: FINE sir, how abt u?
ME:fine
SHE:Have u applied for H1B?
ME:Yes
SHE:IS YYYY ZZZ is ur employer?
ME:Yes
SHE:What is your qualification?
ME:B.E.(C.S.E)
SHE:Which university?
ME: YYYY YYYY
SHE:Can i see ur Degree certificate?
ME:Yes- gave my cert
SHE:How big is this company in US?
ME: some blah blah blah
SHE:What about your 5 and 6 pages of I-129
ME:These are the papers i have got from employer
SHE:Do you have this company photographs?
ME:NO
SHE:Do you have Tax Returns of this company?
ME:NO

Then she said...."Sir, I need further information in issuing u visa, U have to come again with US company's tax retursn, photographs, and ur project and client details and ask ur employer about the papers in I-129"

Then I said Thanks and came out.....

Today I have found out that they are not intrested in seeing all those papers, just they are looking at candidate. We should look formal, and be bold. just we have to get a opinion from the employer that we can sustain in US. One more thing they are very keen about "Client and project details" .

I hope my experience will be useful to you.... Thanks....
