H1B, H4 Visa

Hi, I attended my visa interview On Jan8th 2019 at Hyderabad consulate. Was asked 4 basic questions regarding employer, salary, highest degree and do you understand your rights in usa. after that i was asked if i was ever stopped at border, immigration or law enforcement. i said NO. i asked if there was any problem. The VO said NO. Then the VO said they need more time and gave me 221g white slip with second checkbox ticked. I wasn't even asked a single document. Been almost three weeks and no update yet. Let me know if anyone has ever faced similar situation and idea on how longer would it take.

Any one who got 221(g) white slip ticked Administration process Last Week at Hyderabad consulate please respond to this post if any got approved after 221 g admin process please let us know how long the process take at Hyd Consulate?

Me: I gave him my Visa appointment letter
VO: not this one, can i can see your employment appointment letter?
Me: I have my last 3 months payslip, is that ok?
VO: yes that works
Me: here is my payslips
VO: Thanks!

VO: apart from your kids & wife, is anybody else travelling with you?
Me: No,I will be travelling with my family. Just 4 of us.

VO: are you known by any another name before?
Me: No

VO: your Visa is approved and you are all set, have a good day!
Me: Thanks! you too have a good one

I went for H1b stamping Kolkata on 16th Jan 2019 and received 221g White Slip

They asked for CL, Project Itinerary and Vendor MSA/SOW.

I submitted the same on 21 st but did not get any acknowledgement.
On 25th i resubmitted the douments via email and got an acknowledgement from consulate.

What timeline can I expect to get the 221g cleared?

Interview date - Nov 13, 2017
Visa Consulate location - Hyderabad
Visa Type - H1B

Received 221g white slip unfortunately for not having LCA in my hand.

Nov 21, 2017 - Received call from embassy requesting to email for documents.

Nov 22, 2017 - Emailed

Even after the regular follow ups there is no response. Embassy doesn't take calls and just asked to email for 221g queries. In email we just get the automated response. It's been more than ONE YEAR so far and case is still pending and no update in the website.
Please guide me to clear this 221g hold to get my stamping done.

As per the call to National Visa Centre(NVC): 603-334-0888 was told that case is not yet received by USCIS and understood that case is still in embassy.

Location - Hyderabad as my case was held at same place. Not good idea to change the location.

Questions asked

1. What's your company name
2. Highest degree
3. Major in your highest degree and visa approved.

At my counter approx 7-9 were rejections when I was waiting in the line beside. And I had to see all those rejections but I was just confident and answered the questions.

Jan 25, 2019 - Received notification to pick up passport.

Stamping done without any further admin processing. Do not lose hope and just be confident.

Do we have any rule in Custom border (port of entry) or in USCIS saying that the H1B Stamped visa should have at least 6 months validity during the travel or the date of entry into USA at the port of entry?

Hello Everyone, Just want to share my experience to the forum, might helpful to someone..

I had my visa interview in Ottawa embassy on Jan 23rd it was my first H1b stamping , I have booked the appointment slot 4 day before the appointment. So i dint had enough time to prepare for the trip so drove from US to Ottawa in snow, its much fun tho!!.Two days before my appointment I received a email from embassy says that " we are not able to access the your DS-160 application form .you will need to complete another DS-160 form bring the conformation page with new the new bar-code number on your interview day and don't bring your old DS-160 which you used to book the appointment ". I was so freaked out to the email. I reached out to consulate for asking for how to update new application ID in the appointment booking site without cancelling my appointment ,but i haven't received any response i waited a day . Then i have decided created new DS-160 and submitted .On interview day i have carried both DS-160s and at the first stage of document verification i have explained to the lady I got a email form USCIS to bring new DS-160 and showed the email which I received from USCIS ,then she looked at the system both DS-160 form are aviable in the system and then she asked me which one to use,I told her both are same you can use either one then she printed a label by using old DS application number and I have discarded my new application.

So don't worry if there is a mistakes in your DS-160 after scheduling appointment you dont have to cancel the appointment .create another one with right information and carry both,on the day of interview inform them your situation they use right DS-160 application number .

Visa Experience:-

I stayed in Marriott which is 5 Miles away from consulate, on my interview day weather was so horrible it took me 30 min to get there .I have reached at 8:45. i have parked my car at closest public parking garage and then i walk toward to embassy and all the formalities are completed and waiting for my turn.

There were two Windows opened for interviews I was standing in the Q and watching others peoples interviews and noticed got many rejections for some people. I got so nervous and but i was so confident too !!!

Here my turn comes , VO waved hand to come closer to the window I step forwarded.
VO:- How are you Sir ?
Me:- well its not cold enough here so I am doing grate , she gave a big smile and told its a worse weater today .

VO:- Give me your passport and Docs
Me:- I Passed the my documents and also asked to VO do you need my old passport too ? she said if it has valid Visa then i need it , in my case i had valid F1 visa.

VO:- so your work xxx company ?
Me :-Yes

VO:-What other country's have traveled in last 5 years
Me:- I told
 
VO:- whats your highest level of education ?
Me:- Masters in xxxxxx

VO:- Is it a cource base / research base masters ?
Me:- It is research based,

VO:-Expline your one of your capstone project ?

Me :- I have explained abt my projects in very detailed and clearly she was very impressed and told me your VISA APPROVED yo will recivie in 3 to 4 days and here is the instruction to pick your Passport and also she returned my H1B petition and other documents and kept the passport . I asked here you dont need my H1B petiton she said No, Your good . Then finally i said thank you ans stay warm.

After my interview i checked my status ,is Administrative process and after couple of hours again i checked, it changed to Issued

And Today Morning Jan 24th I got tracking number, Hopefully I Might t get the passport today or tomorrow

On 16 Jan interview for H-1b
I received 221g -( pink slip - mark visa is refused )and my passport ,
Vo check my doucments and not keep any of them
VO : it is Ap ,I will send a mail to you
Me: how long it takes ??
Vo : We have to send to Washington DC

I received ds5535 by mail and by next day I fill and send back
Case is AP

23 Jan phone call asking for my certification and duty which was the same q via the interview

Any one can help !?

FTE in technical role; did MBA in US

1/18 Dropped Passport (Mumbai)
1/21 Consulate received passport
1/23 Passport ready to be picked

Visa stamped with no issues

Consulate: New Delhi
Bio-metrics: 27th Dec
Interview: 28th Dec

Form F1 OPT to H1B ..straight forward questions. VO said visa is approved and kept passport. He mentioned they will need more info to complete admin process.
Same day received DS5535 by email. Emailed back complete DS5535 on 2nd Jan.
NO updates since then. Case last updated is still showing 28th Dec.
Anyone facing similar situation? Any timeline to expect?
