221(g) white slip but no docs requisition, passport retained and worker rights pamphlet given
Hi everyone,

My H1B petition was approved but an administrative error resulted in late filing and an accidental overstay of a few days. As a result, my extension of stay request was denied and I had to immediately go back to my country for stamping. The interview was nerve wracking and they asked a lot of questions about the overstay even though I showed the nunc pro tunc letter and the response from USCIS. In the end, the officer give me a 221(g) white slip but no documents were requested and he kept my passport. He said he just had to do some administrative processing that should take a week or so and that I should wait for them to contact me.

Given that overstays are taken extremely seriously, should I be worried? The VO kept my passport and he gave me a workers' rights pamphlet even before we were finished with the interview. Please share your experiences with me. Thanks.
