Please HELP - Typo Passport number US VIsa Docs
Hi All,
I got 221 G for H1b.
Can someone please tell me is there another way we get know to submit passport\additional documents other than email?
I had a old profile in US visa docs which correct passport number created long time back which I forgot.
I created a new one but had typo on my passport number by one digit, hence US visa portal never told me the passport number already exists.
Now I realised when I track my passport using incorrect passport number it shows a status passport with embassy. But no status is returned with correct passport number.
Im scared if any email for document submission might go to my old profile email Id as it has the correct passport number.
Im not even able to update the correct one in my new profile as it says passport number already exisits.
Im scared that any communication might go to my old profile email Id.
Is there any other way to know if any document is requested?

H1b interview expereince 2018 chennai
Hi all,
I was going thru all the posts in this useful forum on H1B visa interviews.
Now its time to give back. For that only, I created user id and pwd with this portal. I attended interview today (26-apr-2018) in chennai.
As I went with my 3yr old kid, I was not asked to stand in queue anywhere and it took 45 min approx to complete everything.
My timeslot was 10:45am, reached consulate with my wife and kid at 10am by auto.
No parking there so didnt take my vehicle as per my friends advice.
There was a queue, I straightaway went to security (by reading threads in this portal) and told him i came for 10:45 slot. he told me to stand as first person as we had kid.
After sometime,another guy checked our passports and said to go inside.
Another 2 round of checks/scanning to see if your passport has sticker pasted in OFC.
Then we went inside, there they checked PPs again and asked us to go for counter #.
Before us, one lady was attending interview. Consular asked some basic question and approved her case.
Now its our turn.
Q: How are you ?
A: I am fine, how about you.
Q: I am good, thanks. How long are you working with this employer?
A: # years.
Q: Ok, Who is your end-client?
A: told client name
Q: What will be your worksite
A: told city,state
Q: Is this 1st time you are applying for H1B
A: answered (yes/no)
Q: What is your salary in US
A: told the salary # in USD per annum
Q: Have u read pamhlets (showing that book) ?
A: I told No
Looked at my wife
Q: How long you have been married
A: She told # years
Q: Have you ever worked previously
A: answered (yes/no)
Looked at my kid
Q: Hey, how old are you ?
A: my kid didn't respond and turned his head to opposite direction.
Consular smiled and told - "I think I will approve your visa" (which confused us, I could have asked him to repeat his words),
he put rubber band to our PPs and told happy journey.
We told "Thank you sir" and moved out.
After coming out (time 10:45 - our start time actually), we reached home and i checked status, it showed "admin processing".
After 5 hrs I checked status, it showed "issued", so my above confusion got cleared.
I think all depends on consular. Some may ask for docs. Some may not. You will need luck.

221g - Visa approved but status is Administrative processing
Hi Frients,
I went through Dropbox option in chennai consulate for h1 renewal stamping along with my dependents passports. I dropped passports 16/04/18. Passports returned with 221g blue slip on 19/04/18.
I submitted all documents on 24/04/18 and visa officer verified the documents and verbally informed visa is approved, she gave me back the documents that i submitted and kept all passports. CEAC status is still shows "administrative processing" with last update 24/04/18. No further updated on this. Passport tracking status is also not updated after 19/04/18.
Is this normal ? Will it take long time to process? Please suggest.

H1B & H4 EAD Drop Box Exp in Hyderabad
I am on H1B with direct client and my wife working on H4 EAD. Mentioned same in DS160 form that she working on H4 EAD. Went to INDIA recently and applied for visa through Drop BOX.
March 29th : We dropped docs at traveldocs. Issue with photos, but we took new photos and submitted. Took 1 hour.
April 5th : Got update to come for Finger prints only.
April 9th : Given Finger prints.
April 11th : My wife H4 got issued.
April 12th : H1B issued.
April 13th : Passports sent back to traveldocs and collected on April 16th.
Overall its smooth, but process little bit delay.

H1b @ Chennai 221 G really scared
I had my interview on 13th April, basic questions and gave me 221 G. No docs required and returned my passport and all docs.
Still no update and application still in admin processing.
My flight is on 27th April, I don't think I can make it, still no emails or updates.
I do have a vendor but I had given the vendor and client letter during interview. Any idea of the timeline, I scared because they returned my passport.
Please let me know if anyone has similar scenario and any idea of the timeline. im really scared.

h1 and H4 visa experience
my husband and myself submitted docs in dropbox on March 22nd 2018, my husband return ticket booked on April 3nd and mine on July 2nd
26-mar-2018: got email to appear for fingerprint on 28th marl 2018 for h1 and for h4 got email to appear for fingerprints and interview on April 18th 2018.
28-mar-2018: my husband went for fingerprints
3-apr-2018: my husband visa got issued and next day got email to pickup the passport .
5-apr-2018: my husband collected the stamped passport .
H4 visa experiance:
18-apr-2018: went for fingerprint and interview, VO asked basic questions and finally he kept my passport and gave 221g white slip in thath he check you application needs more administrative process to make final decision and he said it will be in AP for 3 to 4 days and no need to worry.
last update on 18th April is in AP and there in no update still in AP from 18th april.
is it because of my travel date they are delaying my visa if anyone having same issue please share here so I can get some idea.

H1B 221(g) Hyd Consolate White Slip
I attended my H1B interview on 19-APR-2018, the VO asked basic questions and she returned me White Slip with Nothing marked on it.
During the Interview they have taken my I-129,I-797B and my LCA Document.
I did not receive any email to submit any documents.

Apr 11th - Finger Prints at Hyderabad VAC
Apr 12th - Interview
Apr 12th - Case status shows to be under Administrative Processing (Last updated 12th)
Apr 20th - Case status still shows to be under Administrative Processing (Last updated 20th)
Apr 24th - Still shows in Administrative processing, No change in last updated.

Yes, in Computer Science and mentioned name of university.
Did you work illegally during your masters education?
No.
Asked for I797A
Handed it.
VO kept the passport with him. Did not issue any pink/yellow/white (221g) slips.
Mentioned passport is on hold and your case will have to go through necessary administrative processing and process will be delayed for 1-2 weeks.
Apr 24th: Called the embassy on Apr 24th @ 91 40 46258222. (provided on website http://www.ustraveldocs.com/in/in-main-contactus.asp#contactinfo)
Embassy people gave me the same info as on the website where we track passport and visa status and asked to wait since it still shows under Administrative Processing. Asked for a tentative date, since i am employed and my vacation is on tight schedule but did not get any info from them.
Note: when calling embassy at third step in automation they ask for UID. I was confused in the beginning, but press any number and it should connect you to an agent.
Hopefully everything goes well. Please post your status if you get any updates.

H1B visa status says Refused on day on interview.
I had my H1b interview on April 23rd at Hyderabad and VO asked some basic questions about client and then took the passport and handed over 221g white slip and said it takes 1 week for administrative processing.
But I checked my status on same day and it says "Refused" . I have seen in couple of sites that "Refused " is the default status and it will update to "Administrative Processing" in few days. Please help me in getting some info in these type of cases.

H1B Approved with Administrative Processing @ Mumbai
I had my H1B interview on April 23. The visa got approved but the VO said they need to do some administrative processing on their end which will take about 10 days. I did my masters and was previously on OPT before starting H1B in October 2016.
Following are my questions:
1) Please pass passport and i797. So you work for XYZ?
2) What is your highest degree?
3) What do you do at XYZ?
4) Where are you located?
5) When did you graduate and from what University?
6) Were you on OPT? When?
7) Have you been outside of status?
8) What is intended date of travelling back - It is May 5th. Noted it down on a sticky note and stuck it on my passport.
VO then Visa is approved but admin processing on our end will take a few extra days. Usually it takes around 10 days, so for your travel I think you'll be fine, but we will let you know by email when passport is ready for pickup. Gave me a generic piece of paper saying you will receive an email when passport is ready.
I am worried. I exactly have 10 working days including interview day before I travel back. Plus, I heard it takes much longer. Anybody else in the same boat?
