Just checked and looks like the CEAC is finally working again.
My case (in AP since the interview on Jan 16, last updated Jan 16) is still in Administrative Processing but my last updated date changed to today (Feb 6).
Did everyone else's last update date change too? I'm wondering if this is because the site was down or if it's because my case was actually updated (still in AP unfortunately)
I appeared for Visa interview on 30 jan, 2018 f1-> h1b for stamping at new delhi. At end of interview I was asked to email docs like 797, 129, paystubs, end client letter, cover letter to hl processing and then was sent to another counter for more details where i was given another white slip asking to email resume, travel plans, purpose, work experience, education to advance processing.
The second white slip I received doesn't make much sense. Did any one of you received 2 white slips. Also they didn't take my passport.
I have submitted all docs today and the status tracking website is down.
If any of you had same exp pls reply

I have travelled india for family emergency and attended for H-1B visa stamping interview at Chennai consulate office on December 19, 2017 this is my 4th visa stamping in last 13 years. For the first time at the end of the interview, I have received 221(g) notice and my passport was returned to me. The 221(g) notice did not ask for any additional documentation from me.
My wife is in US along with my daughter and she is in 3rd trimester of her 2nd pregnancy.
Please let me know options to expedite as its more than 45 days now and my wife needs assistance.
Went for H1B stamping for both mine and the wife's. We both work in different companies in SF.
4rth H1B stamping for me and 2nd H1b Stamping for my wife.
Experience with VO:
1) Are you both together- Yes.
2) Do you both have independent H1B visas? - Yes.
3) Handed over passports and VO asked for I-797 Approval notices and he asked both of us if how long we have worked for the companies-- Answered.
4) Then he asked us our job responsibilities in short- Answered.
5) How much do you both make (salary)? Answered.
6) Was there a gap between employments? Both of us answered No. Ended with previous employer on a friday and started with new employer on a monday.
7) He asked me if I was directly employed by the company I work at internally. I answered yes.
8) Provide previous passports and then he looked at mine and asked me my previous I-979 notices to look for gaps- None found.
9) After all verification he answered: You are approved.- I responded thank you! Have a nice day.
Lessons: Be calm, Be confident, Be precise in your answers. Pray! and you will get yours as well. Good luck!
We are waiting for the passport in the next few days.
Thank you all, this forum helped me a lot, with all of your experiences. It's my time to give it back my experience.
I attended for visa last week of January in Toronto. Drove from Virginia to Toronto. It's my first time to leave country in 7 and half years, I was nervous when i booked my interview. But as it approaches close to my appointment date, i felt happy that i at last breaking my shell and hoping for good and also fully prepared for worst. I have been living in USA for 12 years with wife and daughter (US Citizen).
Got the Canada visa processing and stamped in two weeks.
Canada Port of entry: It is more like drive through. Officer: How many of you traveling today: Me: 3
Officer: Give me your documents/Passports and your country of citizenship Me: Provided. Two Indian and One American citizen. ...officer took some time to look in to system
Officer: Is it first time traveling to Canada: Me: yes.
Officer: Where are you going. Me: (As i am going to my friends place and has invitation letter). I told that i am going to my friends place to visit.
Officer gave me back my passports with a entry stamp.
We entered to Canada. Now i am relieved, that at last i stepped out side USA.
Canada post of entry is as easy as passing through the toll.
After a day in Toronto, went to embassy, just 15 mins before and it was drizzling and cold.
As my daughter was shivering, at the entrance the security mentioned that "which is the reason, we told to not to bring children". I told him that we don't have choice, as we both attending for interview.
Any how, We provided DS160 and Passport then the lady at the counter check and let us go inside.
After security check,
the ten print scan counter, after a 15 mins, the lady at the counter asked for our DS160 and Passports and verified them, and asked me if i have extra passport photos with me, as the one i uploaded to DS160 seems that the pixels are not up to their standard. Luckily, i carried passport size photos and provided to her and then moved to ten prints for me and my wife.
Next ten print was fast, then moved to interview line.
After 15 mins, it was called to interview.
visa officer: Is it your first H1B Me: 5th

Visa officer: you will get your passport in 3-5 days to my choosen post office. Me: Thank you madam.
As i attended on Monday, i get email on Wednesday that it is issued, and Thursday it is arrived at the post office.
In the mean while i drove to Quebec city (9 hours one way) to visit, which is very beautiful city and damn cold.
I picked up my passport on Friday 4pm.
We started on Saturday back to USA, and visited Niagara (unbelievably beautiful from Canada side).
USA Port of entry: It's like drive through security check.
Security Officer: Asked for my passport Me: provided.
Security Officer: Asked to park my car in the parking area and told to go in to the building as they could not identify for documentation. and sent passport to second floor. Me: Parked the car and went to second floor.
Officer on 2nd floor: two Indians come in. (that's strange way to call through) Me: Went inside and gave ten print again. and it was port of entry stamp. and paid 6 dollars each . Came down and got in to the car and entered in to the USA.
Interview on Jan 16 when the Consular Officer said it would take upto a week. Almost three weeks later, still in AP with last updated on Jan 16.
It gets stranger. When I check on the Passport Tracker and CGI, I get a "no status available for the passport" when it previously said it was with the Embassy.
Now, the CEAC website doesn't seem to work for my case either.
