H4 visa issued but H1b still under admin processing
Hello there ,
I’ve been working FT for a US firm since 8 years . I was on OPT and H1b with same company . I’m visiting my parents currently try . I submitted my documents for Dropbox on Feb 16 along with my wife’s H4. On Feb 21st my wife received an email that her passport is ready for pick up , but I didn’t receive one. I checked our visa status on Cracknell web site tonight and found that her visa (h4) is issued and mine (H1b) is still under admin processing. Can h4 be issued before having a decision on H1b. If any of you guys had the same experience before, can you let me know how long did it take for you to get status on your case.

221(G) Yellow slip
Hello Everyone,
My wife was given 221 g asking about my project details.I am working in small manufacturing company supplying parts for aerospace and automotive companies. My employer gave me all the details in company's official latter pad.
- VO asked me to send all this detail on [email protected] .... So should I need to attach 221g slip with other documents? or they already have it?

Would like to share my extension visa process.
This is how it went.
Feb 20th--Finger prints
Feb 21st-- Appeard for interview.
VO : He had my passport in handy..He asked me a question u work for YYYY .
ME : Yes.
VO: you visa is approved.
He didn't even ask me I797. Only thing he took from me was passport

Hi All - Just thought of sharing my experience. It was a smooth experience.
Biometrics - 18 Jan
Interview - 19 Jan.
I went to the consulate interview with my wife and baby. The consulate asked some straight questions:
1. Who is your client? and asked for the i797.
2. How long with the same client?
3. Have you been to US before?
4. Where you stay in US?
5. You might be missing the snow :) (based on above question)
You are all set and will receive the SMS once your passport will be collected from embassy.
Received our passports after 1 week.

My Interview date was on Feb 13th.
They have asked me the following:
1.Is this new job opportunity?
2. What is your highest degree?
3.which location are you going to work?
4.Is it employer or client location your going to work?
5.How much salary?
6.In India where your working?
7.what are your roles your going to work ?
6.And They asked about the tax documents.
I said as it was confidential the employer has not shared with me..
They have raised 221g to submit "Company Tax Filing" documents.
And they have not taken the passport.
On feb 16th my employer has send the documents.
Could you please let me know any one has experienced the same .
How much time it would be taking for the processing for this type of case?

02/16/18: case updated..admin processing
02/20/18: Issued

Unnecessary hype created around drop box applications..if documents are good and genuine then I think you shouldn't face any issues.
I got RFE last year asking client letter ..provided.

I just thought to share my recent H1b drop box experience , hope it is useful :)
I am an FTE to a company here in US which had services back in India as well.
As my H1B VISA was with in 1 year of expiry i was eligible for drop box ..this was my first travel to India after coming to USA in 2016.
Took the below docs
DS 160 confirmation
Client letter (but was not asked)
two latest photographs
My previous and latest i- 797 ( i forgot to take photo copies of it, hence had to come back in like 15 min )
Passport (both old and new as it got expired in US)
Dropped it on Jan 23 '2018
Received email on Monday Jan 29' 2018 from US Travel docs with the below message "Your document(s) have been collected from the US Embassy/Consulate
The passport number being returned is **** *"
When i looked into the status online it said "ready for pickup " Hence i went and collected my stamped passport :)

H1b Renewal with the same employer.. Been in US 10 years.. F1 MS and then on H1B. This my 3rd H1B stamping..
Timeline:
Submitted Docs New Delhi: 12th Feb
CEAC case update: Application Received 13th Feb
No change in status since then.
Is the application being looked at or is there huge backlog?
Has anyone been stuck like this on "Application received" for 5 business days in case of dropbox?
The message asks us to check after 2 business days. Where can we call to check? Is there a direct embassy contact?

Hi All,

I went with wife and kid for the interview. Below questions asked
1. Which company you work for
2. Who is your client - As its not a renowned company, the officer asked me to spell. He quickly checked online I guess.
3.What is your annual pay
4. Location you will be travelling.
The officer asked to my wife - Since how many years you have been married.
All set. Didn't check Approval notice.
