Today attended H1B with my dependent
Hi All,

It's my turn now. Today I attended the H1B interview at Chennai location and VO looks like very young and He rejected one person in front of me, not sure what was the reason. My interview scheduled at 9:30 today, but reached 8 AM only with my kid and wife. Then one guy asked me to go inside for Security check. Went inside and no waiting in queue for me, might be I have a kid, so went inside very quickly and come out by 8:30 AM. only 20 min taken to finish all process. The question VO has asked very few question

Me: Hello office Good Morning
VO: Very Good Morning
VO: Who is your petitioner ?
ME : ZZZ, Bangalore
VO: Since how long you have been working with your Petitioner ?
ME: X year and Y Month
VO: Who is your Client ?
ME : YYYY XX

That's all no more questions for me and he turned into my wife and asked question as below

VO: When did you married ?
MW: Month, data and year of the marriage
VO: How many child you have ?
MW: Answered
VO: Which City you are going in USA ? My wife did not hear properly and VO officer repeated like 3-4 times
MW: Then my wife catch the point and told full address of my client location.

That's all

All the best for guys who are waiting your turn. Good luck. Please be very confident what you have provided to USCIS.

H1B Visa Approved !!! Chennai
I have been observing this forum from last one month, just to get interview clues and tips. Kudos to immihelp team for setting up this forum. It really helps.

I went for interview to Chennai Consulate on 10th Sep. Everyting other VO interview is simple, straightforward and executed in a very professional manner. VO asked me below q's:

1. How long have you been working for the current employer?
2. which place in US are you going?
3. what will be your work location?
4. How much salary?

5. Will you be working for any client?
Ans: Said No. I am going for in house project.

6.Tell me about your inhouse project?
Ans: Explained !!

7. I don't understand your company's model? please explain.
Ans: I was nervous at this point. Actually my employer is not an reputed MNC.

8. How does your company make money?

9. How much does your company earn from services and how much from in-house project ? Who pays them for in-house project?

10. Your company has clients?
Ans: I said YES.

11. How will it impact your in-house if I don't approve your visa?

Q's to my wife:
1. Mam, Can you please tell me when did u get married?
2. What is your son's DOB?

I think, the trick is to read your petition 3 to 4 times before you go for interview. Speak only what is mentioned in the petition. Anything other you speak can land in additional question and VO ask for more document.

In my case, he was trying to confuse me so that I use words like client. Q's are very random. Be confident of what you say.

Would you help me listening the audios or clips of US accent which help me to understand the consulate(esplly HYD) people's voice. This make me to be more comfortable.

Where can i practice listening?

Appreciate your help
Thanks,

H1B next week
Hello All,
Quick question, looks like VO often asks where you will be staying. Well, without being in US we would definitely not have a rented house there so what is the best suitable answer ?
Also, if I am shifting from Indian subsidiary of a company to US subsidiary, is it okay to call it a new job opportunity ?

TIA

h1b Interview experience
Hi Guys,

Just need your guidence...

I attended visa interview on 10th Sep 2015 for my H1B petition in Delhi Embassy.
The VO took all my documents including my passport but no 221G.

Actually VO was asking a lot of question related to my Petitioner.
It seems, he was doubtful about my work experience and my petitioner.
He asked for all the documents which I was carrying (Supported docs for my petitioner and my Original experience letters).
At Last, he told me —you can collect all these documents in OFC center. We will inform you via Email/Phone.

Not sure how long it takes.
Can any of you please let me know if you recieve any response by now, or how long it takes to get back our passport.
Feeling very confuse…
