I have attened visa interview at Kolkata consulate on 12 June. My status shows Administrative Processing from the very first day. Due to the Biometric process server crash there is a delay in printing US visa worldwide.
As of now most of the consulate in India started issuing VISA from last two days. Does anyone able to get VISA from Kolkata after 9th.

Got H1 visa stamped after 221g at chennai consulate
Hello All,

Firstly, I thank this forum and members for having shared their visa stamping experiences that has been useful to me and many. I hope mine helps too.

I had a conversion from H4 to H1. I attended my H1 visa stamping in Feb 2015. I was asked the usual questions:
- employer name
- my client
- highest degree of education
- annual salary
- client letter.

My case is a EVVC model. I had the implementation client letter but not the end client letter. So was given a 221g asking me to submit the end client letter/ documents supporting my employer is in contract with my end client.
I was asked to email PDFs copies of the same via email to chennai consulate.
I had emailed the documents a week later and got a confirmation email that they received it.
I did not receive any response from the consulate for about 2 weeks and hence, my employer sent an email to the consulate asking for an update.
And then a week later, I received an email asking me to submit my passport at the ofc.
I was tracking my passport status and also my visa status. 5 days later, my passport status changed to ready for pick up and visa status from Admin Processing to Issued. Overall, it took about a month to get my visa issued.
So, pls be hopeful and don't feel discouraged on a 221G. When you submit the required documents, they will definitely issue the visa.

Thanks.

H1B H4 Stamping & Re Entry experience Tijuana (TCN) June 2015
Hi,
I wanted to share our experience during the current technical issue as a Third Country National (Citizen of India) in Tijuana Mexico. Though we did not get the Visa Stamp yet, we were able to return to the US.

a) Our Experience (Interview schedule not honored): As we scheduled the interview on the 9th and were not notified or updated of this issue, we went to the embassy for our regularly scheduled interview and were turned back stating that we need to reschedule. We had expired Visas on our Passports and the next available interview is next month. The embassy staff told us that you can try and get back to US as the CBP officers know about the issue. Long story short, we were able to get back based on the less than 30 days stay revalidation rule available for contiguous territories (Canada & Mexico). In our case as we were not even let in to the interview made us eligible for this rule, and were allowed entry (had lawyer papers, regulation printouts etc). If you indicate the technical issue and you were not able to attend the stamping, they tend to assume scenario b) below and may not let you in.
The following two options are per my analysis, so make you own determinations for your decision.
b) Interview Schedule Honored: If you already had your interview and are waiting for the passport to get Visa Printed. You will not be eligible for the <30 day rule, as you are considered "Applied for visa" and that breaks one of the criterion. It is likely that you may get back your passport from embassy and they may ask you to return later to collect the visa. They may also suggest that you can try and ask the CBP officers to let you in. PLEASE APPROACH THIS WITH CAUTION. As you are already in the Visa system , you have effectively negated your revalidation, and hence the CBP discretion to allow you in is effectively reduced, which MAY mean your entry may be rejected. Sometimes they may offer you a once in a life time option for I 193 which is $585 per person. Eventhough it is painful, waiting to collect the passport seems to be a better option than relying on CBP who do not have a rule allowing discretion when Visa has already been applied. (if you hear of other experiences that this did not matter for reentry, the ignore this).
c) Yet to Interview, but already in the Third Country: Based on a) and b), rescheduling the interview would allow you a reentry back to the US based on <30 day rule. If you choose to interview and they are unable to print the Visa you would fall under b). So think about this and use your discretion based on your needs whether you want to go ahead with the interview or not.

Again b) and c) are based on my understanding and analysis on somewhat painful process I had to undergo to come via a). Please do your own research to make your decision and this post is intended to just provide an opinion.

H1b stamping experience
I have been reading the posts here while waiting for my H1b stamping and wanted to share my experience.

I had my visa appointment at the New Delhi Embassy on June 4., the VO said they needed to check something about the petition and they will contact me if they need more information. I never got contacted.

The status online showed Administrative Processing till June 16th. On June 17th the status said Issued, with a status update date of June 11 (which is weird that the status did not start showing online till 17th), this could be because of technical issues going on at the embassy.

Today (June 18th) the status says it has been handed over to VFS. I am flying to the US on 20th, so I hope it arrives by tomorrow, cutting too close but at least it is not stuck in Embassy process.

Good luck to everyone who's waiting.
