H1B Stamping
Hello,

I had my OFC appointment on 3rd Dec and PAI on 4th Dec. OFS was very straight as described in earlier posts.

interview went like:

1) Passed original I797 & passport
2) VO: Who is your client
ME: Mine was internal project so explained that....
3) VO: Who are your clients
Me: Said existing clients of company
4) VO asked LCA
I took that out from folder quickly passed that... he looked at it just for 2-3 sec only (I guess was checking how organised I'm)
5) VO: Are you married
Me: Yes (My husband is already in US at different location than me but did not ask any question on that)

and then 'Your VISA IS APPROVED. You can collect it from Pune VFC (My preferred pick up location).

I just asked after how many days he said 3 business days and that's it....

Just be confident and clear... don't show any excitement nor any nervousness.

All the best....

Detailed H4 experience hyderabad 29th Nov 2012
My experience for my H4 renewal after 6yrs at Hyderabad on 29th Nov 2012 was very very simple as below :

Appointment time 10 : 30
Reached at 10 : 30 so dint stand in the queue

First they checked passport and appointment details at the gate.Second Name and appointment details check inside the gate where we were made to sit for sometime. Then go through the Security check so no food, water bottles, electronics but only documents. Then again made to sit for about 10minutes for basic supporting documents like passport and copy of I797 followed by biometrics to verify the biometrics provided at OFC office. After this we are given token numbers starting with E or F(for H4's) and made to sit till the token number is called at mentioned counter which took around 20-30 minutes. Here we have a small canteen and water if someone wants to eat idli, vada, coffee and tea.
Once my number was called at counter 15 head to the counter a US guy aged 30+ was already interviewing a couple who applied fo H1 and H4.The couple were going to Texas so he was asking about Texas and if the guy had any cowboy hat or shoes? What color cowboy shoes does he have?Later he asked the lady what she did previous as this was a new H4 and she replied she worked for TCS and resigned. He then asked what does she want to do and she replied homemaker and he again stressed out about her interests and mentioned this is not what i asked a couple of times and then she mentioned that she likes to travel. Then he approved their visa.

Now my experience :
He asked me what i was there for so I told him H4 renewal.
Then he asked me the location I told him.
Then he wanted to know my husbands annual salary told him.
He then asked what was good about the place i live so I told him about the shopping mall near by and then we had a casual chat about how i pass mytime and If i shopped daily.I mentioned that I shop sometimes and now that I have a new baby i wont be shopping so often and he was like i could still shop with a stroller blah blah and said I would get the passport in a week.No documents checked nothing.

Bottom line : LUCK,CONFIDENCE and MOOD OF THE INTERVIEWER
Good luck one and all
