first i have to say more regards to immihelp, it help me lot about the experience shared by the people.

me: Thank you.
So please dont carry anything apart from the required documents and be alert about token display where ever you go.
Be patience and dont panic about other rejection in front of you. Be positive about your self. success is yours.

H1B Visa renewal, Got 221(g) Admin process
Hi,
I attended Interview on 26th of August. I got 221(g) White Slip with Admin process. They sent email with questionnaire to fill and asked my CV. I replyed them with all general answers and my CV to them on 5th of Sep.
My question is why they ask very basic general questions like name, father name, mother name, DOB etc..and CV when they have all my other very very important documents like Client letter, Vendor letter, W2's, tax returns and LCA.
Is anybody on same boat like me.????
Did anybody know how long this process will take time.
When i was applying my H1 in 2007, they took 2 thumb fingers scan, this time they took 10 fingers.
Is that the reason they issues 221(g) to do security check????

me: as per petition
VO: where will you be working?
me: city,State
VO: how long have you been working with 'company'?
me: this is my 6th year with 'company' name
VO: how many ppl are working in your team?
me: 5
VO: do you know how many ppl from your company are working with the client?
me: (i was stumped as my company is huge and the client is also huge... no way i would know the number. so just told him the truth) I am unware of the number(he then started typing stuff... which didnt end)
VO: who are you reporting to?
me: <manager's name>
VO: ok you got to spell that for me...
me: I can give you this doc with all the contacts...(he smiled and took it...) <it had all info (managers name, #, email of offshore manager, onsite manager and client manager info> (he returned it after quite alot of typing)
the typing was not stopping... i could hear my heart beat... and at the end ...
VO: your visa is approved, you will get it in 4 days time. thank you

My wife and I had our H visa interview on Aug 30, chennai at 8:15AM. Our visas were approved.
Earlier on July5, we had our L1-B visa interview and it was rejected. It seems that the L1-B visa is highly abused and is subjected to lot of fraud, as a result even if the VO has a slight doubt in the answers given, its rejected. Therefore for L1-B visa, prepare well. We all know what questions a CLERK is going to ask there, as ENGINEERS prepare well in advance about the answers well. (in front of mirror/mock interview with someone).
After the L1 was rejected, my company filed a petition for H1 for me. Here are the questions asked:
a) Why are you going to the US
b) What will you be doing there
c) What is your highest degree
d) Did you L1-B get rejected
e) Did you lose your passport? Why and When? (I had lost it in 2007)
f) How long will you be there
g) how long have you two been married
h) How did you meet each other
i) Do you have any children
The VO says this is the correct class of visa for us and that L1-B was not correct and she aprroves the visa.
Tips:
Be truthful always, they have all the info. Be truthful in the interview and when filling up DS-160.
Your answers should be crisp, short and to the point.
Dress smartly, irrespective of what other say. Guys, be preferably clean shaven or as you look in your passport photo.
Be confidant. Prepare the answers well in advance so that you dont flounder in the interview looking for words.

H1B - New Interview experience.
Hi all,
Me & My wife had H1B - New / H4 had interview on Aug 30th, 2011 @ 10:45hrs.
Since this was our first time, we had reached American Consulate, Chennai way too early, i.e. By 8:40hrs. We waited in the Q. By 9:30hrs, the security asked the 10:30 and 10:45 candidates 2 come in a seperate Q. Make sure that you don't carry your wallets/Hand Bags/mobile phones/electronic things allowed inside Consulate. As and when you enter, you will be givena token, keep it safe and keep an eye on the LCD monitor for your token no. To be displayed along with the service window no.
In the first counter, an Indian officer sits, he will arringe your documents, He will ask you ur approval letter I-797B, BEP letter, HDFC receipts, Passports, 1 US Visa size photo (2inchX2inch), DS160 conformation page and Interview call letter. After he arrainges the docs, he will give that back 2 you and ask you 2 go 2 some other counter, where your finger prints would be recorded, then comes the real test.. :-) you will need 2 proceed to the next building, where also you need 2 keep watch on the LCD screen, where your token number will be displayed aganist a service window, where the so called visa interview happens.
My interview went about as given below:
VO: Good Morning sir, hello Mam (2 my wife), How do you do?
Me: I am good thank you, How about you?
VO: Can you pass on the docs please?
I passed the docs given 2 me arrianged from the first counter, VO gives back the original I-797B and HDFC receipts to me.
VO: So how long are you working with ZZZ?
Me: 3years and 10 Months.
VO: What is your designation in ZZZ?
Me: ZZZ-ZZZ
VO: You are travelling to work for which client?
Me: ZZZ
VO: Ok, is there any Vendor between your company and ZZZ?
Me: No, there is no vendor.
VO: What will be your salary in the US?
Me: $ YYYY X/- PA
VO: Ok, how long are you both married?
Me: More than an year and half.
VO: Can I see the original marriage certificates please?
I passed on the original marriage certificate to her, VO takes a look at that and passes it back.
VO: Your visa is approved, you will receive your passport in a week's time.
Me: Thank You!
No questions to my wife :-)
