H1 - singara chennai
I got my h1 stamped today,my case is direct american employer,US masters, the interview was very easy.following questions -
1)highest qualification
2)role and responsibility at the company
3)how many years in the US.

for direct american employer petitions I can see no problems, they dont even ask many questions, most of the denials and grilling comes only for desi contractors/bodyshopping firms - firms which i think must be banned completely from the USA for their blatant undercutting of our wages in the US.

PS - just a piece of advice for those characters here who mention nonsensical phrases like "golden words" etc - you have not been given the keys to the US federal reserve, all u have got is a stupid visa to enter the US,and as anyone with even an iota of experience will tell u just entering the US does not mean a rain of dollars - making money in the USA is just about as tough as it is here.so get rid of your fantasies as u prepare to go there, finally using such langueage implies u r glad to be rid of our country which is an insult to your motherland.

to the rst of genuine applicant - all the very best and I am sure you will get your visa

cheers

Ajay

Visa stamping - Approved - Chennai - June 01
This forum is helping much on Visa interview preparation, thanks a lot those who posted earlier.

My interview time was 9:30 am; I reached around 8:30 am with my wife and kid. They allowed me to enter inside around 8:45 am; after the security check, I was waiting around 30 minutes, documents were verified and arranged by VFS officer and asked me to go for another counter for finger print. Then we went to embassy building.

Interview was very cool, below questions asked by VO officer. When I and my wife wished the officer, my kid said ‘Hi’ to officer, so officer started to talk about Kid first.

Started below questions to my wife first,
How old she is?
Have you ever been to US?

How long are you working with current organization?
What is US Salary?
What is your highest degree?
Which location you are travelling?
What is client name?
Will you work from client location?
Explain about the project?
What your client is doing?
Again she asked will you support from client location.

Then she told you will get your passport within a week time. Around 9:40 we came out.

All the best guys! Don’t worry, just prepare well about your project and roles mentioned in petition. They are verifying the petition when we answer something on project and role.

H1B Visa Approved 02-June-11
Hi Folks,

First of all, thanks a lot to IMMIHELP. YOu ppl helped a lot.

Well the VO asked me what was my highest qualification ?
What is my toatal experience ?
What are my roles & responsibilities ?

Most of the time he was typing something on the computer and later said that "your passport would be sent to u in a weeks time "

HINT: Be confident even if u r wrong. look straight into the eyes of the VO when answering him. make sure u speak loud enough and slowly if r not comfortable with english.

All the best folks! A big thanks to immihelp for providing valuable help

Visa renewal successful in Chennai with E-V-C model
Amid all the fuzz about visa denials and my contract job nearing to expiration, I went to India to visit my family (I feel is important than every thing else) and attended stamping in Chennai. I was issued visa without any hassle, it all happened in just 5min.
I went 45min early for appointment (Friday, May-2011, 9AM). Went inside after waiting for about 15min in line.
I was called into VFS counters, they checked my documents and gave me a green file with HDFC receipt, H1 and PP in it.
Went to embassy building next door and waited for my turn with VO. While I am waiting I saw 3-4 221Gs and denials, most of them are fresh H1s who couldn't explain what they are doing, some cannot convince about E-V-C relationship, some are totally disorganized and swimming through bunch of papers when VO asked about any specific document.
My number was called, greeted VO and submitted green file (prepared at VFS counter).
VO also took LCA and H1 from me and asked whom do I work for, I mentioned my employer name (who sponsored my H1). VO questioned if I work for any client or in-house project. I mentioned my client name submitted Client Letter (this is a MUST). VO asked what do for client - "Develop web applications in .Net...". VO checked if I work through any vendor, I mentioned vendor name and submitted Purchase order (this is IMPORTANT). VO is almost convinced, checked regarding my education details, be sure to give complete details "B.tech in YYYY from YYYY college and YYYY university..." verified my payslips and W2 and said "We are issuing you visa, you will receive PP in a week"....that's it.
Word of advice, be confident, do your home work, be prepared for at least basic questions about your job responsibilities, E-V-C model...Be polite and organized, believe me I saw some people carrying documents in a Fedex folder; come on, spend some bugs (~10$) and buy a nice folder with compartments in it.
I should really thank my employer to provide comprehensive documentation (all required and additional documents mentioned in immihelp); and my client and vendor to provide letter even though contract is coming to an end. Last but not least, I thank all immihelp users to share their experiences.

H1b stamping-denied
Hi

I attended H1B visa stamping recently for my extension but visa was not issued saying that my current and previous employers are having ‘unpaid bench’ complaints and I have unpaid bench for couple of months in 2009. The VO didn’t gave me any query form also.
But I have complete pay stubs for year 2010 to till date and project client letter in hand. My petition valid till Aug 2012.

How can I proceed now for my visa stamping. Please suggest me available options for my visa stamping ASAP.

Appreciate your help.

Thx and regards
DGR
