Successful H1B stamping @ Hyderabad Consulate
I would like share my H1B Stamping Experience that happenned on 4th May 2011.

The day was very crowded as usual.

After getting into the consulate office, people were divided and sent in two different queues as per BEP and Non BEP. There are officials who would direct the next appropriate step.

Interview-

Me-Good Morning Maam!
VO-Good Morning!How are you?

Me-I am very well. Thank you..How about you?
VO-Fine. Thanks.

VO-Can I have your documents.
Me-Sure.

VO-How long have you been with this employer?
Me-This is my first employment with ZZZ

VO-What are you going to work as?
Me-I am going to work as YYYY and will be taking care of client account management.

VO-What is your highest Qualification?
Me-Masters in Business Administration

VO-How many years of work experience?
Me-11 plus years

VO-Where are you going to stay?
Me-ZZZ

VO-Do you work for client?
Me-Yes

VO-May i see your client Letter?
Me-Sure. Submitted.

Then came the platinum words 'Your visa is granted and you will receive your passport in 3 to 4 days' with a smile.

Me-Thank you Maam and have a nice day.

As i read from many forums about Hyderabad Consulate that they issue lot of 221g's...It is not true. Need to have all the supporting documents specified in the website and trust me visa is not far away for you :)

All the best wishes to all the folks who are appearing for their Visa Stamping

H1B renewal @ Delhi Embassy
Place - US Embassy, New Delhi
Date - Apr 21st, 2011

Went for H1B and H4 renewal. Since this was my 3rd time getting/renewing H1B visa, the interview took less than 3 minutes and the visas were approved without any issues.

Questions Asked:
Q. How long you have been working with this company
A. Almost 7 years

Q. Was all the time spent in US
A. Yes

Q. What is your highest qualification
A. MS from a USA university

Q. What is your present responsibility
A. Gave Answer

Q. Do you work on a client project?
A. No, it is internal product that we manufacture and then ship is worldwide. There is no client involved

Q. How much are they paying you
A. Gave answer

VO gave us the verbal approval at this point and we got passport 2 days after.

VO did not even bother to see any of the documents (like paystubs, Marriage Certificate etc). What surprised me most was that he did not even looked at original I-797 (just the copy which was stamped to the passport earlier). As you can see, it was relative painless procedure and I guess it all happened due to prior H1B stampings (all with the same company) that made interview a lot easier.

There was no questions asked for H4 visa at all (since that also was a renewal) even though my wife has gotten an H1B while in USA and then converted back to H4 later.

first time h1b, blue slip and successfull stamping
Went to Visa interview on 4 April in chennai, it is first time H1B for me
Interview has some casual questions but long due to client vs interal project discussion :
-how long did you work in US before (as I worked there on L1 some 3 years back)
-How long are you working with current employer in India.
-Few more questions on current employer like what is my role, experience, job profile, why change now etc about current employer.
-What is your employer in US doing.
-who is your client.
- I said internal project.
- VO did not agree and with me and discussed what is internal and what is client project, she was not convinced that my employer with 8 employees is capable of hiring one from India for internal project.
Though this is my first h1b, but this is fifth time stamping for me in Chennai, no rejections till now and all VO's before were very courteous when they talked, but the last VO for my H1 is very sarcastic and did not bother to respond to greetings or any other questions except for the questions she asked and what she wanted to know. At one point of time she even said don’t argue with me as I am sure I know what goes as client project or internal project but still I told what I wanted to say , well in a single liner

Any way after I explained why it is internal she asked for detailed project description.
I have told that the description in the USCIS letter is all I have. ( well it was stupidity on my part not to carry project description)
So she gave a blue slip asking for more details on internal project description.

My employer emailed me a bunch of project docs, and I have taken printouts and submitted them to VFS counter in bangalore.
submitted docs on 8th, 11th got sms from vfs that passport is ready for handover, 12th got passport delivered to my house with visa.

basically it just took 1 working day for processing blue slip by consulate,
so I guess as long as VO is free to process received docs and if you submit proper docs based on how your interview happened ie. if you understood why in the first place VO issued a blue slip.
then blue slip is not a bad thing.

Got green slip (221(g)) at Delhi
Hi all,
Its in deed a good forum for sharing experiences related to H1B / H4. I appeared for H1B at New delhi embassy on 14th Apr. Below are the questions that was asked to me:
Name of employer?
Role description?
Where will I work? Client or Employer?
Salary package?
Address of employer?
Which project? Supporting letter from client related to project description? ----> For which I didn't had sufficient docs, because unless and until I don't fly to US, how can employer assign me some project? But, officer didn't got convinced and he gave me green slip saying he would need supporting letter from employer stating project description before he makes any decision on my h1b.

I will submit it to VFS once I will receive relevant document from client.

All the best guys!!!

Br,
Jit
