My interview was on 12th May 11 @ chennai

These are the below H1B questions that i faced alongwith my Spouse..

Vo: good morning...
Me: V good morning to you sir.

Passed the folder to him and then asked " How are you?"
Vo: I am fine , thank you and how are you doing?
Me: I am doing good , thank you..

Vo:
1. Highest degree?
2. Client name?
3. What r u going to do in US?
Ans.. describe the role mentioned in your documents and then followed by the job duty for which department. (just 2 line is enough). If they need they will ask more

4. project name
Ans: Tell the project name and under which department you are working
ex: My project name is YYYY under YYY dept of "clientname"

No questions to my wife and also no questions related to my prvious L1B refusal.

H1 Visa interview experience
Hi,

Thanks to all who has posted their experience and this site was really helpful. I appeared for PA on May 11 in Chennai. Questions are simple.

1. What is your highest qualification?
2. Which location you are travelling to?
3. Abt the Role @Onsite?
4. Salary at Onsite?
5. For Which project am travelling to?

Thats it and he said ur visa is approved.

H1B Approved @ New Delhi Consulate on 6th May

Adding here for tracking purpose.

I have a Masters from US and working since last 5 years but first time visa stamping.

1. Why I want to go to US (?!?)
2. What company?
3. What does the company do?
4. My title and responsibilities.
5. How many people report to me?
6. My salary.

Got my passport stamped in 2 days in Bombay.

Green Slip 221(g) @ New Delhi Embassy
I went for the interview to New Delhi Embassy on May 06 2011 and provided Green Slip 221(g)

These were the questions asked by VO:
 
1. Why are you going to US ?
2. Is this project a internal or end client ?
3. How many employees are employed in US company ?
4. Where is your current Indian and US company located?
5. Who is your direct reporting manager and he/she reports to whom ?
6. How long you have been working with the current organization ?

My case is a Direct Employer case, and VO was unable to understand that. She told me to submit additional documents which I will do soon.

11. do you have Client Letter(this question i am not expected) Ans: no i dont have Clinet Letter, She replied why ??
Ans : this is H1B visa, so i don't have clinet Letter. She Replied : Ok

H1-B stamping and H-4 visa
Hi,

I am currently on the H1-B visa and will be going to India in June for the H1 stamping. I am also getting married and would like my spouse to accompany me back to the US.So my question is - Can I book visa dates for both of us on the same day?or should I wait till my H1-B stamping is done and then schedule interview for my spouse?I am very confused..Please advice.

I attended my visa interview on 9th may. My visa got approved. VO seems to be asking some general questions that are already posted in this forum.
Questions that were asked were:
1) Have you been to US before?
2) Who is your employer?
3) How long you have been working with your current employer?
4) What is your highest qualification?
5) Who is your client?
6) Where will you be going in US?
7) What is your onsite salary?
8) What will you be doing in US?

We went to Kolkata Consulate for H1 and H4 for my wife and Kid.

VO: Good Morning sir, How r u doing?
Me: Good Morning sir, Good and how r u doing?

VO: How long u r with the current organization?
Me: Answered.

VO: Whats ur client?
Me: Answered.

VO: Which place in US r u going?
Me: Answered.

VO: Whats ur higest qualification and from which University?
Me: Answered.

For My Wife.....

VO: How much is ur baby age?
wife: 12 months.

VO: How long have u been married?
Wife: Answered.

VO: Is ur marriage arranged?
Wife: Answered.

H1B stamping
Hi Guys,

Sorry for late posting..My wife (H4 to H1) and me (H1 extension) attended the visa interview on April 11th at Hyd consulate.I have been working for the same client for 3.5yrs through the Top 5 indian company. My wife was my dependent and entered on H4 visa. She got the fulltime position and changed the status from H4 to H1B.
She has been working for 1 year.We both attended the H1b interview.


For me they asked the following questions:
Who is your employer
Where do you work
Show me the W2s

For my wife :
who is your employer.. thats all..

We both got the visa in 1 week and returned to the USA after 5 weeks of vacation..

I observed all H1B visas were granted in my queue at consulate..
