Visitor Visa for Parents at US Consulater Hyderabad
I wanted to share my parents experience at US Consulate Hyderabad.
My parents had an appointment in Telugu for a visitors visa on 3/17 at 11am. They reached the consulate by 10am but were not not allowed inside till 11am. So be ON TIME. Its not like Chennai where they allow you inside an hour earlier.
After the initial Documents Check, they had to wait for some time and then went to a counter. The lady at the counter asked if they knew English. I earlier told my parents to talk in Telugu Only. The lady knew a little bit of telugu and started asking questions. No translator was there.
To my Mother
1. How many children do you have.
2. How many grand Children do you have.
3. Who stays in USA. My wife's name.
To my Dad.
1. What do you do?
2. When did you retire?
3. Asked my dad's Pension & Retirement docs.
4. Property documents - land & home docs etc.

Told my parents that she is giving the visa and the passport will reach in 5 days.
The lady did not even ask one document that I have sent. Just documents of my parents. Looks like they just want to check that my parents have a reason to come back. Also the lady was having difficulty in talking in telugu and so did not ask many questions. My dad was saying in other counters they were asking a bit more.
All the best for everyone.

2) you are going to work in *** on internal project
3) whats ur qualification
4) can I see your degree certificate
5) company's tax details,
6) wage list,
7) project description

Then he said that my passport will be couried to me in a week's time

I prepared for all the possible questions asked in this forum. It helped me a lot :)

H1B Experience at Delhi Consulate
Hi Guys,

I had my H1B Visa interview on 10th Feb 09. My case is a COS from L1 to H1B. I worked in US through a reputed Indian IT company for 3 years on L1 and I applied for H1B through COS. I had to go to India for my Wedding and hence had to stamp my Visa in India before coming back to USA.

Mine was a breeze. The interview was only for a minute or two.
Following questions were asked:
1) How long have you been with H1B employer?
2) What is your Qualification? Since I was BE in Mech the next question was
3) Then how come you are in the IT Industry? for which I had to remind him that I worked before this for almost 4 years for a reputed Indian IT firm and was in US on L1 through that firm.

BTW I had my ID batch pinned to my shirt.

And thats it. He didnt ask me anything else. No Paystubs, No W2's, No Tax Returns nothing. He didnt ask me a single document.

But let me warn all you guys out there. If you are already in US and have a job, hang on there till your luck favors you, If you are currently in India, Get your Visa doen if you want but dont leave your jobs in India and come here. Nowadays whoever has a permanent job in India is better off than any desi in US. If you are searching for a job currently in US, it is a nightmare. You can always come to US when the market situation is good.

Don't come to USA
Hey,

For all H1B'S

here sitivations are very bad, there is no corp-to-corp jobs for h1b, cause US Citizens and GC holders also have with out job so all companies considering for only GC and Citizens, so please plan to come to USA after market up.

Guy's this is true, don't come to USA and don't give resignation to your present job in India.

Thanks
