First let me thank every one in this forum, it helped me a lot going thru ur experience and I also thank immhelp for giving a valuable information. My wifes H4 visa was issued at chennai on Sep 9. Interview was just 1 min, it went thru like this:
VO:Gud Moring, how r u?
my wife: Gud Moring, fine, how r u?
VO: gud
VO: do you know ur husband DOB
my wife: yes, dd-mm-yy
VO: when were u married
My wife: dd-mm-yy
VO: can i c ur husband's paystub
My wife: yes, here it is...
thats it her visa was issued...

regarding client letter
hi , My h1 visa got selected in lottery and hot my visa approoved in Us, planing to go to Stamping in chennai in December...! My petetioner is facing problem to get client letter for me...! I that compulsory...? if VO asks about client or inhouse proj, can I answer like this " My Us employer has Lot of clients , so when I go to us I will be mapped to an client.."....also what time ( or which month ) wouls be better to go fot stamping in Chennai? Should we be prepared technically ? Kindly suggest !!!

The moment the visa officer says "Your H1B is approved" please dont relish.Means bad time has started for you.No jobs.Cheating consultants.They cheat you in pay.They wont send payslips.This is if you get a project.Now adays getting a project is not easy at all.Some people are lucky enough but i myself know bunch of ppl who have returned to india.Be prepared to wait 5-6 months for a low billing project.Stay in India or try Singapore.US market is tooooooooooo bad and very few jobs.Statistics is that US has cut 5 lakh jobs till now this year.Pls check www.cnn.com evry 1st working day of the month.They come out with the statistics about job cuts.Now that your H1 is stamped as long as you are out of US your status doesnt get affected.Once you are inside US you HAVE TO MAINTAIN LEGAL STATUS MEANS GETTING PAID ALL TIME.Come to US once the market is up.

H1B stamping
Hi,
I went to Chennai consulate on 19th Aug for H1B stamping. My appointment was at 10.30 AM but I reached the consulate early and completed the certificate verification well before 10.30 AM and waited for 10-15 minutes before my turn with VO. When VO asked me to come forward, I went to the interview booth with a greeting smile.
VO: Good morning. How are you doing?
Me: I am fine.
Then he looked into his sytem for few seconds and then,
VO: What is the position you are going to work with YYYY Inc.?
Me: YYYY ZZZ
VO: How much experience do you have?
Me: 7 years
VO: What is your Educational Qualification?
Me: B.E. in Mechanical Engineering
VO: Can I see your B.E. provisional Certificate and Employment details?
Me: Sure. ( I handed over my Original Degree and Employment Letters)
VO: (after going through those docs) Can you explain me the details of your work you at your first company?
Me: I explained him about my Role and the technologies I worked on and the type of projects handled breifly.
VO: Are you going to work on In-house project or for any client?
Me: In-House project (Product of the same company)
VO: What kind of business is your employer(US) involved in?
Me: Explained about the domain and type of products of the company and clients.
VO: Ok. All the best. We will send your Visa through courier with in weeks time.
Me: Thank you.
VO: Have a nice day!
Some tips I want to share here:
Be confident and maintain Eye contact with VO.
Give short and complete answers to the point.
Dont be nervous or do not show anxiety while waiting in queue. Stay calm and composed.Do not rush to the booth until VO looks at you. I could see the two candidates before me are tensed up and are not able to explain their responsibilities properly to VO. I dont need to tell you, their Visa got rejected.

got yellow 221(g) at mumbai for H4
hi,
i had my interview for H4 renewal.my interview time was 1pm 5th sep 2008.
i went inside gave my passport,my husband's I-797,fingerprints and waited for almost 2 hours and then my turn came at window 3.
the person there was indian ,he handed my passport,husband's I-797,yellow form(221(g)) nad an envelop and said that there is slight informatin update to be done and it is taking time so please wait for 3 working days to receive our email.then submit printout of that email along with your passport and this yellow form in this provided envelop at any VFS centre.
i asked him that will i get visa or not,he replied surely mam u will get visa but it will take time.
so this is the scene at mumbai consulate.
now i m waiting for tht email.
can anybody tell me how many days it takes for email n then to get back passport?

Sleepless nights in USA coz of bad market
Friends,
please dont come to USA at this moment,situation is too worst and worst
except Java and .Net guys that too If you are good in subject you will get Job.
so dont resign jobs If you are working in India,dont be overconfident that you can get easily Job once you come here even you are working in MNC's in India.even you are good at subject sometimes luck wont favour with us.
so dont be in hurry,Just keep an eye on US market and according to that plan yourself.
most of the people are returning back to India.
here getting hotjobs also horrible,its very difficult than getting software jobs.
so becareful and plan according to that,so many our Indian guys are in trouble without jobs cince 6-8months.
