Hi,
I had my interview today at the Mumbai consulate. The interview went off well with the VO asking questions like, how I met my husband, when did we get married, etc. He asked to see my marriage certificate which I showed him. Did not ask for any of my husband's other docs like paystubs, tax forms, bank statements, etc. all of which I was carrying. He first said that the Visa is approved and then quickly corrected himself saying actually I wont say approved because we still dont have this petition on our system yet and handed back my husband's I-797. Then he handed over my passport and the 221G yellow frm and an envelope saying that as soon as our system gets updated, we shall send you an e-mail on the address mentioned in your form. When I asked him if anything else is required to be submitted from my side, he said nothing and told me that once I receive the e-mail, I could take a print out of tht, plus the 221G and my passport and submit it at the VFS. I asked him approximately how many days I should hope to receive the e-mail and he said that it could be this afternoon or a couple of days.
I want to know if anyone else has been in a similar situation and how long it took for this matter to be solved. My husband's I797 was approved in Jan-2008, so Im wondering why its still not on their system.
Please help me with whatever information tht might be useful.
