Hi All,
I have attended the interview for H1B in Chennai in January 2008 and they have given 221(g) for Employer details and project documents . I have submitted the same 0n 14h Feb.2008 and i waited till march 20th and i have dropped a mail enquiring the status. I have received a courier with one more 221(g) telling that it is pending for Additional Administrative process and they will contact me.Since then i have not got any reply. have been mailing and calling the helpline and they say it is under process.
Can you pl. guide me with your experiences in this reg.

Name missplet in H1B Approval notice
Dear Friens,
I got my H1B approval today. somehow my first name printed on the approval nontice is missplet.
same thing I had in the Receipt notice also, then I asked my lower and they filed a request.Even. after the request I see the same mistake in approval notice.
Anyone of has the same experience ? How much time it takes to correct it. Do they send a new aproval notice with the correct name ?
Please advice.

221(g) refusal
hi friends
i got 221(g)on oct 2007,VO asked me some docu from my employer and i got the docu and dropped them ,again i got 221(g) saying send my previous exp certificates and so i sent them my certifiactes but this time they kept one of my exp certi with them and returned other and again asked me to send both pervious exp certificates once again
so i got the same 221(g) 3 imes now. can any one help me out

Hello Aspirants,
Please note that I got my H1 and H4 visa granted on July7th2008. It was a cakewalk.
VO has not asked a single document from us. He reviewed the mandatory documents submitted along with DS156 and DS157 i.e.) LCA, I-129 and I-797 for about three minutes.
Conversation:
VO: Good Morning Sir and Good Morning Madam
Self : Good Morning Sir
VO: How long have you been with present company???
Self: Answered.
Starts to review the documents submitted for 3 minutes enters some information in the system.
VO: Have a pleasant stay in the USA.
Self: Thank You Sir
VO: You will receive your passport by the weekend.
Self: Thanks Gain.
So my piece of advice is to stay calm and put up a confident look. The Visa Issuance is a foregone conclusion before the interview because all the ground work auditing of individual applicant would have been dealt with days before the interview.
In the actual personal appearance VO will only check to see if the applicants are showing signs of and professionalism etc.
I have gone to the contents of these site most of it is informative but one must understand the each l case is peculiar and experience cannot be generalized.
ALL THE BEST IN YOUR EFFORTS FOR H1B VISA.

Can i attend for B1 Interview while my h1 is pending on 221g
Hi Friends, I had attended H1B interview in Feb and was issued 221g for Client letter and i submitted all the docs after receiving from the employer and have not heard anything from the Embassy so far.Now due to my personal family reasons, i am not interested to travel for long time on H1.
During this period my current company has offered me to travel for short term on B1. My question is can i apply for B1 Visa and attend for the interview while my H1B case is pending under 221g. Your inputs will be very valuable for planning my future. Thank You.

Got H1 visa stamped from Delhi consulate
Hi all
I have gone through this site for quite a long time and thanks to all of those who shared their experience.
Here's my experience,
I had my appointment at Delhi Consulate. Went to the consulate 30 mins befor my appointment and gone through the security check and joined the line. It was a big line and took almost 1 hr to reach the counter where my details will be checked and feeded into their systems. After that I had to wait in the line for 2 Hours. Then I was sent inside and had to wait in the line again for finger prints. After the finger prints were taken, I was directly sent to stand in a line for Interview.
This was the conversation :
Me: Hi, Good Afternoon
VO : How are you.
Me: Im gud, How abt you?
VO: great
I passed my DS forms, visa appointment letter, I979, and Passport to her.
Vo: Is it H1?
Me: Yes
Vo: What is the company you are goin to?
Me: YYYY Company
Vo: How did you know about this company?
Me: I have seen an advertisement in Dice.com and found a job matchin my profile and applied for the job.
Vo: Did the company take an Interview?
Me: Yes
Vo: How big is this company? How many employees are there??

VO checked the tax papers and looked into my Btech Degree and Certifications
Then finally!! She told me that she will grant my visa and i will recieve my passport in 4 working days. :-)
That was a little long interview but finally i got my visa. :-)
There's a small information to be shared to the people who are going to attend visa interview. Be cool, try to be diplomatic and dont give long answers.
One more thing, I had a small mistake in my DS form. I was worried about that. I asked a person who checks the forms abt it and he just corrected the mistake by hand... that means you dun need to worry if you had made any mistake in DS Forms.
