Hello Seniors / Friends,
I have attended for H1 visa in the month of july and the consulate has issued 221(g) blue asking for documents pertaining to my US employer.I have submitted the same through VFS -Hyderabad on 05th September'07 and waiting for the response from consulate.I did not receive any communication from the consulate till now.I contacted VFS couple of times but the concerned said that I need to get in touch with consulate for any information.
They asked me to either contact consutate either by mail or phone and gave me '[email protected]'& 044 28112000.
My query is
1)Will I receive any mail or call from consulate or I should get in touch with the consulate for any further information.
2)How much time consulate might take approximately to atleast convey that my case is under review or admin check.
3)Do we have any other mode of finding out the details.Like any phone # or any other mail id thru which I can find out.
Thanx in advance for any sought of information...

Few months ago I went for visa renewal to Chennai consulate.During that time I notice that VO approved visa very quickly for some people and they did issue 221g for some others.One of the reason was the size of prospective company and the person's current experiance played big role for their decision. If the US company is small in size then VO would ask all sort of documents. It is their job to ensure that the company hired you that would capable of provide the min salary $60k per annum that is mandatory for H1B candidates. So go with full information about your prospective employer and that would help lot. Some people said, Mumbai consulate was lenient but I don't think so.Unlike Chennai, for Mumbai, you have to send the documents 5 days before and they reviewed all details well in advance. I was having interview on 4th october at Mumbai
This was the simplest interview i had faced even in life BUT ofcourse the minutes B4 interview were frustrating
VO asked me following quesions
VO: wht r u doing here in india?
Me:Sofware testing
Vo: wht is the USA company doing?
Me: software development,business sytem integration
VO: what is ur salary there?
Me: said
VO: what is ur degree?
Me: Bachelors in Engineering with secialization in IT
Vo: whaere r u going in USA?
Me: said
These was everything all abt.......
Hardly it took 1 minutes..

21st Aug 2007 - I appeared for H1B stamping @ Chennai.
VO: Please pass me your original degree certificate.
Me: Passed.
VO: Is your US Job, In-house or Client?
Me: Client
VO: Name of the Client.
Me: The company has lot of Clients.

NO spouse name entry in my passport

Me and my wife are attending the H1-b/H4 visa interview on 22nd, we didnt have spouse entry in either of our passports. will that be fine or shall we have the spouse entry, we have allthe other docs with us.. can some one please help me in this regard, please

H1 stamping @ chennai consulate and Looking for H4 For my family

First of all thanks very much for keeping such a wonderful site.
Hope everybody share their experience and read these immihelp.com site will get the stampings soon.
I got my h1b couple of months back @ chennai consulate...
First I got a 221 g form,a month later I got my H1B stamped.
Due to some personal reasons I was not able to take my family during my Chennai,Consulate visit.
Currently My family is waiting for the Interview slot (chennai)
Kindly share your experience/tips for the H4 interview.
Also any idea when the slots will be available for the interview..always www.vfs-usa.co.in says..that interview slots are not available and look after 24 hours...
My experience with Chennai consulate:
1.They very particular about documents.
2.Keep your right & Left Index fingers clean and should not have any white dots or cuts.(I got 221g for small white dots in my right Index finger)
3.We should be very cool.
4.Better take your family during you h1b stamping.so that it is very easy to get h4 stamped the same time.
5.Kids..apply for passport at tattkal if possible.(for my son(10 Months old)I waited for almost 6 months for the passport thru noraml processing.
6.If marreid newly please add your spouse name in your passport and same with your spouse passport your name shd be added.
