Information on how to procees after getting 221g form
I had a visa interview at the Chennai consulate on
25th September and they have issued me a blue form
asking to submit more documents from the US
employer.
The visa officer has asked me to submit all the
douments mentioned in the blue form through the drop
box and told me that I do not need to come for the
interview again.
But the problem is he has asked me not to submit
the passport along with those documents. I wanted
to know if any one has encountered similar type of
situation and how long it may take to get the visa
stamped?

Hi all, i want to tahnk each and evry one who are sharing there experiences with immihelp.they b4 yday there was a good news for H1 holders who are waiting to fix an appointment with chennai.i have opend mumbai consulate and it is mentioned that all non-immigrant visa people can attend in mubai or delhi, but at the end they have mentioned plz go thru the site for further info.iam not able to get that how to apply mumbai, as iam located at hyderabad.plz share u r views on it.thank u

Hi friends,
I gave my PA on 24july,2007 at chennai and was given 221g requesting for additional documents from
petitioner.I submitted the documents at vfs bangalore on sep 12 and till now my status is under process.
Can someone tell the duration of process / max time for returning passport..Thanks in advance.

thanks for the people who r participating in these discussions and helping for other who are attending.here i am giving my experience at mumbai on 5th of oct which may help for the other people.
i have appointment on 5th 12.30p.m,i took the lounge facility from vfs.
so i reached there by 11.30am and waiting in the hall .
i was interviewd by lady visa officer..at around 2p.m
my interview is as follows..

I have attended for H1 visa in the month of july and the consulate has issued 221(g) blue asking for documents pertaining to my US employer.I have submitted the same through VFS -Hyderabad on 05th September'07 and waiting for the response from consulate.I did not receive any communication from the consulate till now.I contacted VFS couple of times but the concerned said that I need to get in touch with consulate for any information.
They asked me to either contact consutate either by mail or phone and gave me '[email protected]'& 044 28112000.
My query is
1)Will I receive any mail or call from consulate or I should get in touch with the consulate for any further information.
2)How much time consulate might take approximately to atleast convey that my case is under review or admin check.
3)Do we have any other mode of finding out the details.Like any phone # or any other mail id thru which I can find out.

Few months ago I went for visa renewal to Chennai consulate.During that time I notice that VO approved visa very quickly for some people and they did issue 221g for some others.One of the reason was the size of prospective company and the person's current experiance played big role for their decision. If the US company is small in size then VO would ask all sort of documents. It is their job to ensure that the company hired you that would capable of provide the min salary $60k per annum that is mandatory for H1B candidates. So go with full information about your prospective employer and that would help lot. Some people said, Mumbai consulate was lenient but I don't think so.Unlike Chennai, for Mumbai, you have to send the documents 5 days before and they reviewed all details well in advance. All the best.
