I hv appeared for visa interview on 24th Sep in Chennai. My observation is that the rejects are very less (2 rejects out of 20) on that day. The rejects are due to not answering properly or having false documents.
My interviews went like :
VO : where are you going to work in US ?

VO : how did you know abt this company ?

Issued 221 g blue @ Chennai on 25th Sep
Hi All!!!
I have attended my H1B interview @ chennai on 25th Sep. They asked some questions regarding certificates, Current Job details, Prospective Company details. Answered accordingly. Then he(VO) took 221g(blue) form and pointed out for some details from company. I said that I have some of documents, But he asked me to drop the same along with other documents in the drop box. He retained DS156,DS157 forms. But he gave me back I797 form and other stuff. My problem is that he asked me, not to drop the passport along with the documents. Will it cause problem? What should I do?? Please can any one guide me. I am tensed. I appreciate your help.

Hi Amit,
I'm not an expert in this, but have a little knowledge about AAP(Additional Administrative Processing).
It means, your documents/case will be sent to USCIS for further verification where they will check your educational evaluation, experience evaluation once again.
Once all these are done, they will give you a call mentioning the documents that you are supposed to drop in the drop box.
Don't worry, I'm assuming as both your bachelor's degree and MCA are done from a distance university like IGNOU, VO might have thought to validate the educational evaluation of your's by issuing AAP.
Else, everyother thing seems to be fine.
This might take some time, there are people who had this kind of querry issued to them, and got a call after 6 months and above. The soothing factor here is, you are associated with a good MNC. So let's hope for the best Amit.

Help regarding passport Renewal
Hi Guys,
I am in a confused state, any help will be greatly appreciated. I have my visa interview on October 22, me and my wife both will attend the visa interview at the same time, here is my problem. My passport expires in July 2008 and till now spouse entry is not made in either of our passports. Now if the renewal my passport, then I will not get back my passport in time.
1. Is it fine if we both go the visa interview, without the spouse name entry in the passport?
2. If we have the stamping in passport, and then I renewal my passport, do I need to have stamping in my new passport or the old one will do?

I have submitted docs relating to 221(g) blue on 05th September 2007.I am regularly calling VFS-Chennai Office these days but the staff are saying that they did not receive any information from consulate.
Can somebody guide me or tell me how do I get the status of the same.

hi all
i went for a H1B visa inerview today.
the VO just asked me a couple of questions regarding my current job what shall i be working as with the proposed employer. she asked me how many ppl where working for this company
Then she said before i can issue the visa i want you to provide us with the following documents. she pulled up a green form wherein she marked some documents to be provided by the employer like their tax return etc.
The form reads to ensure that we can issue the visa in this category pls provide the following docs
She retained the i797 and the DS 156 and D157 and she has asked me to drop the documents in the window 5 in the embassy.
Can u please advice what actually this means and how much time would it take to get the things cleared out. How much time does it usually takes after i submit the documents.

Can I attend in Mumbai Consulate?
Dear Friends,
My petition was filed by Bangalore based consultant and at that time I was working with a company in Hyderab. But since last six months I joined in a company in pune and working with his client in Hyderabad itself. But the payrole is our pune employer. On my petition its refered as chennai consulate. Since last six months, as i working for pune company, can I attend in mumbai consulate or I should attend in Chennai itslef? Please advise any one who knows well about this situation.

don't believe ved software. they create lot of problems.u will get lot of problems after u come to USA.they wont pay u if u r in bench. Initially u should be in bench after u join in vedsoft(god only knows that howlong u should be in bench.) becaz the want see all of ur activities(such as howlong u will work for them and etc .) even though if u get the project.u should sign the agreement for 18 months and they will force the employee to sign the agreement. this will be done within a week of ur employment.

221(g) yellow in Mumbai
Hi,
I had my interview scheduled on 19th sep in Mumbai consulate. Reached there on time.
It was all same steps as mentioned by others on this site. Around 10 AM I was inside cabin with VO. VO was an Indian girl. She asked my some basic questions:
- Why u want to go USA?
- Who will be your employer?
- How much salary you will get there?
- Where are you working now?
- Have you done your degree?
- Which year and which university?
As per my feeling I answered the questions very well. She looked quite satisfied with my answers. Then she returned my I-797 and started typing something on PC. I thought my visa got approved. But after that she went inside and came with a yellow 221(g) form. She said that at the moment she can not approve my visa. She need to do some administrative processing, once that is done I will get a call from them and at that time I need to drop my passport. She said that I need not to come in person. She did not took any of my documents.
When I asked her if she found any problem with my profile she said No every thing looks ok, we just need to do some admin processing.
So can any body please suggest me how much time it may take to complete the process, and if there are any chances of rejection? Is it good thing that she returned my I-797? Please reply
