H1B -L1 Visa dilemma!!
Hi Everyone,
I am in a very peculiar position.I was issued 221(g) at chennai consulate on 18th september.I already have L1 from my current employer.They want me to travel immediately to USA for a 1 year assignment.I can't deny them because i have'nt got my H1B yet.221(g) is valid for 1 year.
can i submit my documents after coming back from USA or it might further reduce my chances of getting H1B visa even more.I am planning to come back to India after 8-9 months and then i will submit the documents mentioned in the 221(g) form.
What should i do??I am in a very confused state.
Kindly suggest me ..

i have interview on Nov - 15. can anybody suggest what documents are required for interview and what questions they will ask.i heard in chennai counslate more rejections (h1 visa) can anybody suggest me please. i feel more tense about this . pelase .........

additional administrative processing

On Sep 27th I have attended the H1B visa interview in chennai and I got the 221g form and visa officer asked me to drop all the petetioner documents in visa drop box for further verification.
On Oct 4th i.e today I received one more 221g form from Chennai consulate.In this form they ticked the checkbox "your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made. This office will contact you once this administrative process is complete"
But in the bottom of the page with hand writing they had written like this "please submit passport for visa issuance.. and no need to submit previously requested documents"
Does it mean they granted my visa!!
or will they be taking some more time to do AAP
If any of you have idea could you pls do let me know

Successful H1B Stamping in Mumbai on 3rd Oct 2007

I would like to thank this forum and to all who supported and shared their experiences, which helped me a lot for my interview preparation.
I went to Mumbai consulate on 3rd Oct, 2007, my interview time was 08:15 AM, I was there at VFS around 7:00 AM and they allowed sitting inside. Later had a coffee and we reached consulate at 08:00 AM by the bus they provided. After fingerprint scan I am waiting for my token number to be called. Finally at around 10:15 AM they called my number and told to stand in counter number 4.
My interview went like this:
VO : What you do ?
Me : Blah Blah…… (He was not satisfied with my answer)
VO : Tell me specifically ?
Me : Slowly explained about it.
VO : Where r u working ? (At that time he passed my I797 petition)
Me : YYYY company
VO : For how long you are working in your current company ?
VO : xx Months
VO : What’s your salary here ?
Me : YYYY Rs/annum
VO : What’s in US ?
Me : YYYY $
VO : He again asked the question of What’s your salary here ?
VO : How do you know about this US company ?
Me : (www.dice.com) and some job portals
VO : Thank you sir Your Visa is approved and you will get in 2 days
That’s it I took my I797 and left the place ASAP.
The interview is for about 1 min. and I collected my passport on the same day.
NOTE : If u have a Tie and your company card wear it and go for interview Because it gives you good impression when you are interviewed by the VO.

I got all papers from My petioner for H1B, I am working in Kolkata , i have to attend interview at kolkata according to I797, But dates are not available, My native location is hyderabad, But i want to attend in Mumbai, is it possible to attend in mumbai.Please tell me.
