Hi,

I attended the interview on 29th of December 2006.
The Chinese lady officer took our interview.

The question she asked is like :

Why you want to go to us?
For which company?
Which company appointed you?
What are you doing?
What will you do?
Is the company taken your interview?
Who has taken your interview?
Are you married?
Show me your wedding album?

Then she write something on computer and give me the 221(G) marking all the documents.
Then I talked with the employer.

After a long waiting the employer sent me the documents on july 2007.

After I went to the consulate on August 2007.

Then again the lady officer who took out interview earlier can asked me the question like :

Why so long to attend the interview?
Have you got all the documents?
What is your project?
Give the project detail?
Give me your educational certificates.

Then she told you were not like Computer Programmer.
I need to check your education and further processing.

Then she issued me again 221(G) stating that your case is under processing.
The consulate will contact you when the processing is completed.

I have HDFC bank receipt which will expired on October 2007.
So Please help to what should I do in this situation. If I can’t get any response from
Consulate till October then will the receipt of HDFC bank expired ?
Please please help me.
If there is any inquiry No. or e-mail address, please tell me.

Thanks in advance…………

issued 221(g)
Hi,
had recently attended my interview for H1-B stamping at Chennai Consulate at Chennai. My interview was scheduled for 4pm and i reached the consulate by 3:15pm on the 29th Aug.As soon as i reached the security counter,i was aked to show my passport as well as the interview appointment letter, which i showed and was allowed to enter the consulate. When i entered the consulate,a person enquired whether it was my first stamping, and i had explained to him that i already had my H1-B stamped in 1999 and i hadn't used that and i travelled to US later on in Mar 2000 on a B1 Visa(both were stamped at chennai consulate),i was sent to a counter wherein i mentioned the same and there was a form attached to my passport mentioning that

Dear H1-B applicant,
Your H1-B visa has been issued with an annotation - "not later that 21 sep 2007"

If you attempt to board a flight before the said period, you would eitehr be turned down or will not be allowed entry at the US Port of entry.

After this , i was asked to go for the main interview wherein i had to go thro' the bio-metric(finger printing) of my left and right index finger. After this,i had to wait in queue for my turn at the interview at 4:00pm.I was the second last person to reach the counter for the day. When i reached the counter,i had initially placed all the docs in 2 separate folders, one carrying my experience letters including petitioners letters,I797,I129 etc.The interview started of like this:

VO: Hi, How are you doing?
Self: Fine, thank you,How are yo doing?

Silence for 2-3 min
VO:Please show me your degree certificates
self:(slided the cover containing my degree certificates as well as training certificates)

VO:How much time did it take for you to undergo these training?
self: tese were taken at different stages, around 3 years overall put together.

Once again, there was silence from his end for about 5 mins or so and he kept looking at his monitor and typing something in between.Meanwhile,he had taken out the blue coloured 221(g) form and ticked out details and ticked out he list of docs which the petitioner had to sent and again asked me

VO:Will you work in the office or at the client's site?
self:Initially, i would be in the office location but later on,depending upon the requirements, could move over to the site.

VO:where were you working? what were your activities?
self: mentioned about my work experience in detail
VO: OK....OK.... Thank you your interview is over. Please inform your petitioner about teh additional documents to be sent.He just pushed my certificates as well as the passport across and called up the next canddiate. He also marked in the blue form that i should submit the remaining docs thro' VFS service ONLY....

I would like to whether, i need to fill up a new DS156 Form as well as DS 157 Form or can i use the old forms? Do i need to submit all the original certificates or copies are sufficient? If anybody can advice,i would be really thankful for your kind help.My H1-B petition as been approved from 1st Oct onwards for 3 years.

Thanks & Best Regards,
Ashwini Pulugurta

H1b Validity
Hi,

I have doubt about H1b validity.
I got my staming in last April2007, but due to some problme with my current employer, I will not able to enter USA till next May2008 and that will be more than 1 year after h1b stamping.

So can I enter USA, after 1 year of stamping of H1b. My point is that how much time H1b is valid. It is for 3 years, or I have to enter USA, within 1 year after stamping.

If someone can help me, please guide my guys.

Rgds,
Sanjana.

Hi All,
Thanks to all who shared there experiences which helped a lot to me in getting my visa stampped.
Here i am also sharing my experience which may help to others who have interviews in near future...

My interview 8:30 AM 30th Aug.....

As interview was early in the morning so reached a day before to Mumbai and stayed in Hotel Royale Castle (ph-02223883888,charge - Rs. 1100 + 4% for AC room) Hotel is ok, but as it is very near to US Consulate so it is preferable to me.Landmark for this hotel is August Kranti Maidan, which is half km from this hotel.

As My interview scheduled at 8:30 morning i left hotel by 7:00 AM for VFS Global,I will recommand everyone to tak this facility provided by US Consualte, For this the charges are Rs. 200 which includes sandwitch,Cofee and pick and drop facility to US Consulate. The most advantegeous thing in this facility that you need not to stand in the queue and you will get a direct entry.

VFS Global is at BholaBhai Desai road and opposit to MahaLuxmi mandir.

So By 7:45 I entered in VFS global paid Rs. 200 and entered in the hall to wait where they have Cafe Cofee Day.Here you will get one sandwitch and one cofee complementry.
By 8:30 a VFS representative came and he called for the candidates for 8:30 slot and asked us to get into the bus.
Bus took us to US Consulate and there we have asked to wait inside bus untill VFS rep will call us.
By 8:45 VFS rep asked us to make a queue in front of the gate.

This was the entry queue where we have been asked to show the interview letter and passport. and after that we got the entry inside.

Then reached to first room where we had to wait for security check....
Please do not carry mobile, digital instruments and eatables or medicines along with you as these are not allowed,If you carry any of the thing either you need to throw them away or you have to make some arrangments for them, so better do not carry.

In security check we have been asked to remove belt and any other metal things and then security guy did the checking.

After that i entered in the Main hall, As soon as we enter in the hall, at the right side there is a reception kind of corner where I have been asked to show my Green petion paper and passport and the pink receipt.they collected and same person returned all those thngs along with my DS156,DS157 and one pink token. And told me to go to Conter number one.
I turned back and went to Counter no 1 and here i had to give my left and then right hand index finger print, and submitted the docs(which i got from reception DS156,DS157,passport etc.) to the person. Then i have been asked to wait for my turn.

While waiting you have to be very careful that try finding the seat which is near to speaker as there is not display screen and thet announce only once... token number announced are also not in sequence so no guessing may work. and please do not talk to any one as this may miss in hearing th token numbers.
They are total 17 counters and each conter call 5 persons in one shot.

I crossed my finger and was waiting for my turn, and finally at 9:45 i heared ... Counter no 2 token number -- .... and yes this was mine.
I had to go... i stood in fron of the counter no 2 and was waiitng for my turn.finally my call..
It was small cabin where i entered,it was seprated by a glass and other side of that there was an officer.
In the cabin ther is a mike in which you have to speak.

Here is my interview....
I entered and said Good Morning...

Officer : What will be your Job title there ?
Me : ZZZ

Officer : What is your prject ?
Me : <Explained in 2 lines>

Officer : What will be your role ?
Me : answerd

Officer : Can you show me your petition ?
I showed all my petion papers to him , he checked and said All right.. your visa is issued you can go to home...

hhhhh ..... it was so nice heaqring this...

Belive me it is very simple and you need not to worry.Be confident and listen them carefully....
Wish you all the very best..

Thanks..

my experience at the consulate
All,

Those of you attending the interview be cool and confident. Also know about the project you are going to work in detail. Do not say that your us company has a lot of client whom he will place you with. Have a look at the 221g and find out what are all the document required from employer. If you do this then there is a good chance of getting through the visa.

This is my experience

VO: Good Morning, how are you.

Myslef: Fine, Good morning.

VO: Who is your client

Myself: My Client is xxx. I stammered which made the visa office to look at me.

VO: Can I see your degree certificates, marks card, empolyment contract.

I showed those.

VO: Please submit the following document and submit at the drop box.

In that there was list of document my petitioner has to submit. Petitioner's income tax report.Financial statemts for the last two year.
