Delhi Consulate Experience - Successful H1b stamping
Hi Everyone,
This is my experience at Delhi Consulate. hope this should be useful to evryone. Firstly, Thanx to all for posting comments which gave me and my sweetheart confidence to get the VISA.

We had an appointment at 8.30 am, but we reached the consulate only at 7.40 AM, thanks to the driver who left us. The queue was pretty Ok. It took us 15-20 mins to reach the first security check point where they ask for the Interview appointment letter and Passport. Then we had to go in Line 1 (for BEP one) and waited in the queue for about 15 more minutes. One thing please remember is pls dont get panic if your little late as mentioned in the appointment letter. There is still lot of time until you get to the interviwer. Then a VFS person ask for PP,DS-156,157, I-797 form and HDFC yellow reciept. Also dont forget to write your name in native language in DS-156 form. Then you get to one of the counters(totally there are about 3). He will ask you passport, DS forms, I-797 and check in his computer and staple the I-797 to the passport. Then you get inside the room after you again finish a security check on your belongings.

When you get into the room there are two lines for Fingerprinting. First left Index and then right. Thats all in this line. The VFS person will then ask you to get into one of the counters for the interview.

There is a glass window between us with a speaker on outside. This is how it went.

VO: Can you show me you documents?.
Me: Good Morning officer.(she didnt say GDMNG initially).I passed the passport, DS forms, HDFC yellow reciept and I-797 form.

VO: Which is your client and where will you be located?
Me: I said xxx client and will be working in NY.

VO: What is your job role?
Me: I said computer programmer, working on design, development of technical solutions for the client.
VO: what technology?
Me: I said xxxxx
VO:So since when have been working with this comp.
Me: I will be joining them in US(she assumed that i already work for this comp)
VO: She was surprised and checked the docs and then she asked which company do your work for now?
Me: I said xxx currently i am working.(then she was OK)
VO: What your qualification?
ME: I said Bachelors of Engg. at xxx college.
VO: How many years of exp do uou have in financial services?
me: I said over 3 years.
the the golden words came
VO: Evrything looks ok as far as documents, we will courier the passport within 3 days.
Me: Thanks a lot officer..

even my sweetheart's interview went same way. we wr so happy when we came out...
One thing pls remember is be confident and listen to what the VO says and answer to the point.

Good luck to all. hope this helped u..

H1B approved on 11th Sep
Thanks a lot immihelp for the great informations. From this site i got a lot more information about the H1 and the experiences.
My H1B visa is approved on 11th Sep. It was really a nice experience. From past 2 months I was thinking a lot about that. But nothing is so serious.
So those who are going to attend please answer correctly with confidence. Before me 2 guys got 221G blue. Really Sep 11th was very luck day for me.

Thanks...
