Sucessful H1B Visa Stamping @Mumbai
This forum has helped me lot to get the information related to visa experiences. Its my duty to post my experience which can be helpful to others.
I attended my Interview at Mumbai consulate on 9 th August. I availed the facilities provided by VFS.
All the readers may have gone through various visa experiences on this fourm , i will try to point out all those points which are not mentioned/less mentioned.
Process of Visa processing will be like this
1> In any of the case whehter u r going through VFS or directly going to US Consulate first step is to stand in Q.
2> As everyone know for Mumbai Consulate we need to submit our documents 4 days before.
3> When u stand in Q be prepare urself with your visa interview letter and passport (no other document needed at this stage) , arrange the interview letter inside the passport.
4> Do not carry any electronic , digital things inside, security gauards continuously warns about that.
5> You will come inside at first security check, they will ask to take out any leather material ur wearing for ex. belt, wallet they check ur bags etc ( this is the time most of the people fumbles because they need to carry their document bag, then this wallet belt so i will suggest all to carry a document folder along with plastic bag,so that after passing through this security check u immediately these things into that plastic bag.
6> At this point security guard will give u a stick (wooden) , put it in ur pocket, u will now enter into main hall where all the visa counters are located.
7> Immediately after u enter the hall there is a counter, ladies standing there will collect ur original I129 along with passport and give it back to u along with all ur documents that u submitted 4-5 days back.
8> they will ask u to go to counter no. 1 or 2 which is for finger printing , submit all the document at the counter, u will receive a pink slip contaning ur token no. for interview.
9> next step is to sit in the hall and listen carefully to the announcement for the token numbers, if u miss they will repeat. I think there are around 15 counters . When ur token no. will be called u need to go to that counter . U get sufficint time in between u done ur finger printing and actual interview call. So try to relax urself as much as possible.
10> Last step : After u finish with the interview return back that stick and come outside the consulate with smiling face :)

Got H1 Visa
Hi all,
I attended the VISA Interview on 30th July in mumbai.
Have faith in God.. I beleived in the god.. visited Mahalakshmi Temple also in Mumbai :)
The following was the interview conversation:
VO: Good Morning
Me: smiling .. Good Morning
VO : Why are you going to USA?
me: for working .
VO: are you working for ABC company?
me: yes
VO: are you going through ABC Company
me : no, i am going through ... Company
VO: how do you know that company
me: one of my friend is working there , he has reffered me.
VO:what is your current salary
me: x,yu,yuu rs per annum
VO: tell me again
me: answered the same
VO: where are you gong to stay
me : mentioned the state that i am going to.
VO:company is providing the accomodation or??
me: yes, company is going to take cae of my accomodation in their guest house
VO: what salary will you get in US?
me: answered
VO: issuing your VISA , go and enjoy
me: Thank you.. and i did not even turn back and left the room
was so happy......:)
Regarding the launge service provided by the VS:
i have availed this facility paying 200rs per Head This is a ticket for one person for one ticket .
It was raining very heavily so it was helpful to me..
There is a sitting room wherein all the people who have the interview are made to sit and wait for their turn accoording to the batches like 8:30, 9:00 . Its their duty to take people on time to the interview.They provide some coffee and sandwich. the room is just a sitting room and not a one seperate room to an individual.
I am mentioning this just to let you know the complete info abt the facility whether to avail or not.
There is a dressing room .Locker is also available. They don't allow mobiles to the sitting room also.
To the interview , only plastic covers are allowed and not even the executive bags.
One more suggestion to all of u , please be careful with your passports. donot pin anything on it. One aunty's agent stapled the HDFC pink card on the passport , an person in the consulate office in a hurry pulled it out and the page got torn. so the officer asked her to come back with new passport.
So please be careful with every document and all the best to each and every One ..

VISA REJECTED
I APPLIED FOR A VISITOR VISA ON AUGUST 2007 AND IT GOT REJECTED. IAM WORKING AS AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER IN A PRIVATE HOSPITAL GETTING A MONTHLY INCOME OF RS.20,000/- BUT HAVE PROPERTIES WORTH 3 CRORES IN INDIA AND YEARLY INCOME OF 7 LAKHS. IAM THE ONLY DAUGHTER LIVING WITH MY FATHER WHO IS 65YRS OLD AND TAKING CARE OF ALL THE PROPERTIIES. THE COUNSULAR JUST REJECTED SAYING NOT AFFORDABLE. THE COUNSULAR NEVER LOOKED INTO MY OTHER INCOMES AND PROPERTY DOCUMENTS. IAM UNMARRIED AND 33 YEARS OLD. WAS IT THE REASON FOR REJECTION. IF I REAPPLY WILL I GET A VISA. hOW AM I TO RESUBMIT MY APPLICATION AGAIN SHOULD I MENTION IN i 156 THE PROPERTIES THAT IAM OWNING RATHER THAN WORKING. KINDLY HELP ME IN THIS REGARD

And I have to go to mumbai consulate 4 my H1-B visa, so for that I have to submit my all doc in VFS office before 3 working days, my query is tht I hv to submit all original doc in VFS office??? plz let me know.

hi friends , i attended hib visa in new delhi today, there asked me abt my US comany and project that i am going to work and then asked me to give all the documents that my employer send to me ,, so then i have given all the documents to him.
then he issued me 221 g form saying that u r application should require additional verification , so it takes some time
so can any one infoem me whn can i get the result,

Hi all,
I have attended the H1 VISA Interview in mumbai.
I was very very tensed right from one month before the interview was scheduled.
Thanks to my Dearest Husband who really had more confidence than me tht i shall get it.... and Thanks to my parents for encouragaing and for being with me .. Thanks to this wonderful site and last but not the least Thanks o my friends for their wishes
Here goes the interview :
I entered the counter with a smiling face and immediately gave the token to the officer
VO : GoodMorning
Me: GoodMorning sir.
VO: so y r going to US?
me: to work there
Vo: what wrk?
me: programming
VO : what is ur salary here?
me : answered

Be confident .. though v will be nervous just make ur voice sound confident with the VO and smile is IMPORTANT which is what everybody told me including this site .. so am i telling ...

I have attended for H1B on Nov 13th 2006.I got 221g and I got visa when I posted my documents on Jan 1st week.I would advise everyone to be confident while talking with vo.Keep eye contact with Vo,that would help you a lot to get visa.I am in U.S now.

Hi guys i got the visa on 6th august....
Let me share my exp with all of u....
i entered the consulate at 8.30am and i waited and waited till my number to come...was listening to very carefully for my token no.ZZZ.....but it took a long time to hear the number...i was getting so bored....
at last at 12.40 pm i heard the number and go to the particular window no.6.
I entered and wish that Mr.ZZZ Good afternoon,he replied with very gud smile on his face. After he asked for my token number i gave it to him and started questioning me.....
Q.1 Why do u want to go to USA?
I answered...he listened to it very carefully...
Q.2 How do u come to know about the company?
I answered
Q.3 What will be ur pay package there?
I answered
Then comes the golden words..."Ok Gentleman ur visa has been issued u can collect ur passport from VFS Center" I just heard the words and couldnt believe i just told him thanks and run out of the consulate.The interview last less then a minute...he didnt ask for any documents.......

Visa revalidation
I visited chennai on July 10 th and went to US embassy Chennai on Jul 13. My interview went for 2 minutes and VO asked my current designation and how long I have been in the organization. She approved my visa and didn't ask any other details or documents. I noticed one thing during my stay in the embassy that for fresh H1B, if the prospective employer is big MNC then VO approved the visa after asking few questions. For small unknown companies the person has to carry all documents and need some luck also. If the person has family better go with family and no need to wait in the long queue.

my query is different ,i attended chennai consulate in dec 2006,after my interview in different intervals (7.30am to 3.30pm) the VO said that "after verification we will get bac to u sir" ,no query form giving to me they retain all my docs .after four months in march 2007 they came physically to my current company and verified my details,iam sending mails to them ,they are replying to me "ur case is still under admin processing after completion of the verification we will contact u " like this am getting the message.almost 8 months over .can any one suggests me wat to do now ........
