Hi this is my experience at Mumbai consulate

Today I got my H1 visa from Mumbai consulate. There was a huge queue outside the consulate. First I had face security checking .seal envelope were checked at gate no first. Then I came in to main building .I have to face once again Security checking. Then I entered into main hall. In main hall there were so many people for waiting for their.First I have got number & send me to window no 1 for L/R finger check. Then she ask me for my i797 & Passport I gave her she told me to wait for you number announcement for window. My number was announced for window no 10. she was a American lady.

 
VO: Hi
Me: hi Good morning
1) why you wana go to us.
2) Which company you are going to
3) What the company is doing
4) What is IT solution
5) What is your current Project
6) Is it inhouse or client base
7) what is the salary
8) ZZZ is Indian Company ?
9) All staff are Indian
10) Who is your CEO

I gave him all answer without hassle free & finally she tell me your visa has been approved take this I797. Have a nice journey. She had not ask me for any documents for verification.

Hi,

I got 221G on Oct 25th and called consulate they said that they need my passport and DD. I submitted in VFS my passport on Nov 30th. My visa got stamped and recieved my passport on ^

Me=answered(Its MNC)
Vo=Ohh, then in US which company u are going and what will be ur work,
Me=I answered ( Galaxy software sol),and I will be working as a network engineer
Vo=how did u got this job,
Me=thru jobsahead.com
Vo=tried on her compauter and told me I never heard such site then
Me=Its wellknown in india
Vo=what skill you typed in that site,
Me=Network engineer
Vo=she has returned my I797 form and told I am approving your Visa,You will get ur passport after 2-3 days,

So,Please go with all the documents with smiley face and with confident,

I have attended H1B interview in chennai on 30 NOV 2006. The day was real hectic. Our interview time was at 12:45 pm and by the time we reached consulate the security gaurd told us that the appointment times are running late by one hour, so he has asked us to come after an hour.There we enquired the people standing in the queue about what the time slot is currently running there. One of the gentlemen said it is 10:30 slot. So we waited in the bustop for half an hour and again we went to stand in the long queue. Atlast we were made to get in by 2:15 pm. We were asked directly to go to the second building.There I saw somany people waiting for their green folders. Finally our turn came for finger prints is at 3:30 pm. then we were made to stand in a queue and finally we went to VO by 4:45 pm. It is hardly anytime (less than 30 secs) the discussion with the VO. This is how the discussion went with VO.
 
Me: Hello good Evening sir,How are you?
 
VO: Good Evening sir, How are u?
 
Me: Iam good sir, Thank You.
 
VO: (Smilingly looking at appointment time (12:45pm) mentioned on the green folder) Its really quite late and apologies for keeping you waiting sir. (Then the time was 4:45 pm)
 
Me: Thats not a problem sir, we understand thats part of the Process.
 
VO: Excuse me, pls give me a minute. (VO went inside for something)
 
Me: OK. (Iam waiting for him.After sometime VO came back)
 
VO:Well sir, What is your Highest Degree? and can I have the Certificate?
 
Me: Yes sir.My highest degree is Master of Computer Applications(MCA)(I showed him My MCA Original Degree Certificate.VO looked at it and got convienced i guess)
 
Me: Here is the marks list for MCA course (I tried to give him the marks memo)

VO: Thats fine, I don't require it, Keep that with you.
 
Me: Thank you.
 
VO: (looking at the I-129) Are you going to work on In-house project or with Client?
 
Me:Iam going to work for Conch Technologies Inc, as a full time employee, but then end client is At Par Inc.
 
VO: So you are going to work on a Project called At Par?
 
Me: No Sir, iam going to work for Conch Technologies Inc, as a full time employee, which is executing a Project called Sales Star for one of its prestegious clients called At Par Inc.
 
VO: The project name is Sales Star is it? Wait a min.(Saying this he went inside and came back after 2 mins.I was waiting for him)
 
VO: We need to do some adminstrative Processing in your case and we will get back to you once we are done with it.(and issued the 221(g)BLUE form)
 
Me: Thank you sir.

Note:- In the BLUE form the VO has not ticked any option but has circled the first option
"Your application requires additional administrative processing before a final decision can be made.this Office will contact you once this administrative processing is complete."

Upon the interview was over I was thinking where it would have gone wrong, as the VO neither quiestioned me anything critical where I was not able to answer nor I was asked for any other document which I don't have.

So can any one help in in analysing the situation. Also guys can any one help me in finding how much time the consulate will take time to get back to me. Please share your opinions if any one has faced this situation.

so be confident and answer to he point and please no extracurricular answers as the americans dont like all the bull **** or horse shitting.
always wear your id if you are working for a reputed company and one more thing is that please go to the visa temple(chilukur balaji) in hyderabad and you will certainly get your visa

I got H1 from chennai...Couns...
Here is my exp....
My slot is at 9 am and i went at 8:30,by that time there 's a small q outside...and i was allowed inside at 8:45 after checking my interview letter and pasport.

Then ther's a Huge q inside the building.i waited for some time .after that they haven't taken Fingerprints in the first building.Again we waited for some more time in the q to enter the second building.

At last we entered into the second building around 9:30.there are some indian guys...checking dsforms and all..
they checked ds forms and gave all the doc's to me.in the mean time some US guy came there and asked why its crouded over here and who asked u to do like this....and indian officers said that we r doing like this from the beggining of the day.then he said that stop this process and send one by one.....
Then i went to counter 1 to take scanning.i was inthe q for fingureprints...some VO officer identified me joining the long q and said ...May i help u sir.i was shocked thinking why he's calling me.here i had some fun time...which helped me a lot to getdown from tensed mod.
avtually VO office asked me to show my fingures...,but i did't get his words..i sadi sorry...again he said something....again i failed to get it...and i tought that he's asking me to show my CompanyId card.i showedmy ID card to him..He smiled and said show ur index fingure
with some signs again i showed my thumb...this time he loffed...and we exchanged some words....he's really Kooooooll ,and i kept my index fiingure on scanning machine....

after some time i was placed into the final q.when i was in q i obeserved that there are couple of ladies who r raising lot of questions.
and 90% H4 visa's are getting stamped...
waited for 15 min..and its my turn...two guys r there..before me..so iwas the third person....those VO ladies are asking lot of questions.....
Q is getting crouded....suddenly one officer came to me and asked to move to some other counter....me and 5 member behind me...went to a counter ...i dont remember that counter....but its is alone.....and that VO officer is looking Kool.
That was verry lucky for me.....in the new Qi was the 3rd person..he gave visa to both of them...i 'm very happy....and he's not asking too many ques...So now its my turn...
Me: GoodMorning Officer...
VO: asked ds forms and 797....thant and allll
Me: handed Voer all docs...again i said " GoodMorning Officer".
this time he responded
VO:very GoodMonrning.

He checked all the ds forms and Docs...in his system.

VO: ur degree Certificates...
Me : i gave all certificates...when i tried to giv sem wise markslist he said Thats not necessary

He checked in his system for a while and observed the certificates by touching the logo and alll verrrrry verrryyyy keenly.

no question .....no answers...b/w me and Vo.
After some time

VO: How do u came to know abt ur Petetioner...?
Me : Dice.com

thats it again no questions b/w me and VO.
He checked somthing in his Computer.

after some time ...Golden words....
"" i'm approving ur VIsa "
u'll get it in 3 days...


Me: ThankYou verry much.
VO: thats Okay...

 thats it guys......
Chennai couns.. is not like previous year....
lot of Visa's are getting just like that....

b confident and Kool....and pray god....



Some tips to those who r about to attend interview...

1. try to gather inof abt ur petetioner and client.
2. try to read all the postings in this site...i'll b verry verry usefull.
3.Do mock interviews.........infront of mirror....
4.when u get inside the couns....try to get free....and b Kool.if u are unable to do so...try to act ..Somehow u should look confident and Kool.
5.trust in god.
6.chennai couns..is not worst one....and not tough one as some guys r saying....
7.Dont dont dont try to get FAKE certificates...
VO officers will have alll the information .they can check all the certificate online...what ever b the university and college and company.they'll catch u veryy verry easily..so plz guys dont put fake certificates...its not good for u and not good for others..It may spoil the mood of VO officer .

Thanks to everyone who are posting their experiences in this site.I have been reading this site for quite a few days.I have got H1 stamped and my wife and son got H4 stamped n Chennai consulate on Dec 6th at 9:30AM.
Here are the questions asked..
VO: Hello..How are doing?
Me: Hai..I am doing fine..Thank you.
VO: Show me your degree certificates..
ME: Here they are..
VO: How did you know about XYZ Company??
ME: I have undergraduate senior working in that companay for 3 years..When there was a requirement to suite my skills, he refered me. I was actually looking for potential company to start my career in US. I enquired about this company in online too (This is true).
VO: Show me marriage, birth certificates.
Me: Here they are.
VO: How much is your total exp in IT?
ME: 4 and 1/2 years
VO: How long have been working with current employer?
ME: 4 and 1/2 years.
That's it..

To my surprise, there comes golden words..
Your VISA is approved.You would get PP in 3 days.have a nice trip..

So guys, be confident..VISA will be yours..Trust in God (Chilkur Balaji Swamy)...

In that papers i got some mistakes.Like .....
Date of birth and PP no's are mistakes.
My consultent re-applied for correction to USCIS(INS).Immidiately

My qns are :
 
 Q1.When can i expect the papers from INS(USCIS)?
 Q2.How much time that INS took for those corrections?
 Q3.How long can i wait for new Papers?
 Q4.Is there any altenative for attending consulate?
