Hi Guys,
Thanx a million to all those who have taken the pain posting their experiences in this site. My interview was at 10:00 am.Guys theres no point in going early. As they let you in only at that time.Better to be about 10 mts prior to your interview time.In my case there was a delay and we were allowed in only at around 11:00 am in the consulate. After the usual security check they let you in the Visa Lobby where the Indian VFS guys collect your passport,Ds 156,Ds 157,I 797 and they make you seated for a while after which they handover your file. Now starts the Queue for finger Scanning this doesnt make much of a time as its pretty fast. And then the interview with the Consular. Here I would want to mention few things prior to the day of the interview make sure that you have a good sleep, have breakfast and all that pls dont go in empty stomach coz by the time you reach the VO you will be 80% exhausted and might not even have energy to recollect what u have prepared.
This was how my interview went on,this VO was a lady
Me: Good afternoon Maam
VO: Hello,Asked for the folder.Asked for my Degree Certificates Right away.
Me: Gave them and asked if she needs the consolidated Marks card as well,to my surprise she said Yes
VO: Looked at my current company details and asked for all my experience certificates from the year I had completed my graduation(In my case it was only one MNC so confidently gave her all the experience letters with the appointment Order)
VO: Asked for the current employer details, Mine said Programmer Analyst so asked what were my current responsibilities and how did I have programming experience.
Me: Had expected this question so had given the answer quite confidently.
VO: Dosent seem to be convinced.Asked for US Employers letter to the consulate,Roles and responsibilities,Academic Evaluation from the US ( which states that your academically qualified to do the Job.
Me: Had those Documents handly so gave it to her.She took about 5 to 7 minutes on her system.Dint have a clue as to what she was doing. Finally gave me all the documents and said your Visa is approved and will reach you in a Week.
So guys what I can say from my exp. If you have all the documents handy and if you can convince them that you are technically qualified to do the Job it should be a cakewalk. Please do not get fake certificates or experience letters coz they can easily figure out as to whether they are true or not.Whatever is you new role gonna be in the US try relating that with your current experience and state that you have been working on the same lines.Any certifications will be a added advantage/The whole process takes a while so conserve your energy till the last. All the best for all of you.Do get in touch if you may need some help.
