Successful stamping in Chennai on Nov 30th
Hi Guys,
Thanx a million to all those who have taken the pain posting their experiences in this site. My interview was at 10:00 am.Guys there’s no point in going early. As they let you in only at that time.Better to be about 10 mts prior to your interview time.In my case there was a delay and we were allowed in only at around 11:00 am in the consulate. After the usual security check they let you in the Visa Lobby where the Indian VFS guys collect your passport,Ds 156,Ds 157,I 797 and they make you seated for a while after which they handover your file. Now starts the Queue for finger Scanning this doesn’t make much of a time as its pretty fast. And then the interview with the Consular. Here I would want to mention few things prior to the day of the interview make sure that you have a good sleep, have breakfast and all that pls don’t go in empty stomach coz by the time you reach the VO you will be 80% exhausted and might not even have energy to recollect what u have prepared.
This was how my interview went on,this VO was a lady
Me: Good afternoon Maam
VO: Hello,Asked for the folder.Asked for my Degree Certificates Right away.
Me: Gave them and asked if she needs the consolidated Marks card as well,to my surprise she said Yes
VO: Looked at my current company details and asked for all my experience certificates from the year I had completed my graduation(In my case it was only one MNC so confidently gave her all the experience letters with the appointment Order)
VO: Asked for the current employer details, Mine said “Programmer Analyst” so asked what were my current responsibilities and how did I have programming experience.
Me: Had expected this question so had given the answer quite confidently.
VO: Dosent seem to be convinced.Asked for US Employers letter to the consulate,Roles and responsibilities,Academic Evaluation from the US ( which states that your academically qualified to do the Job.
Me: Had those Documents handly so gave it to her.She took about 5 to 7 minutes on her system.Dint have a clue as to what she was doing. Finally gave me all the documents and said your Visa is approved and will reach you in a Week.

So guys what I can say from my exp. If you have all the documents handy and if you can convince them that you are technically qualified to do the Job it should be a cakewalk. Please do not get fake certificates or experience letters coz they can easily figure out as to whether they are true or not.Whatever is you new role gonna be in the US try relating that with your current experience and state that you have been working on the same lines.Any certifications will be a added advantage/The whole process takes a while so conserve your energy till the last. All the best for all of you.Do get in touch if you may need some help.

Successful Visa stamping on 2nd Dec at Mum Consulate
My interview was scheduled on 2nd December 06 at 9:15 AM. I would suggest people to go for the Stars and Strips lounge service from the VFS. Its worth paying 150/- Rs. for which the VFS guys will provide you Refreshments (Sandwich and Coffee), lockers to keep your baggages and other stuff, Bus service from VFS office to US consulate and back, briefing about the process. Moreover their queue is also short.

I reached the VFS office 8.00 AM and I was accompanied by my dad. We went in by around 8.30 AM, had some refreshments and waited in the lounge watching TV. At around 9.00 AM the VFS guy asked people to get to the bus for slots 9.15, 9.30 and 10.00 AM. Please dont worry about the time since they will adjust you even if you are a bit late. Also note that only the applicants are allowed to get into the bus. Hence my father had to wait in the lounge till I was back.

Once you get into the consulate office, you will be handed over a wooden token after the security checks. You will have to get into another queue to get the GREEN FOLDER along with your DS forms which you might have submitted earlier in the VFS. After that they will ask you to proceed to Window # 1 for index finger scanning. Their you will get a PINK TOKEN with a number on it. You will have to wait till your number is announced along with the Window number for your visa interview. Please note that the Hall is quite noisy, so be careful and attentive while they announce the token numbers.

My token number was announced after I waited for almost 20 mins. The VO was a lady and must be in her early 30's. The interview was as follows:

VO: (Before I could greet her) Good Morning Sir, How are you doing today?
Me: Great. How about you Ma'am?
VO: Good. So, Why do you want to go to the US?
Me: Ma'am, I have received an Employment opportunity to work with <US Employer> as a XYZ for their esteemed clients.
VO: What does the company do?
Me: <A short brief up about your US Employer, their main business focus, clients, location etc.>
VO: How many years of experience do you have?
Me: # years.
VO: How did you come to know about this company?
Me: I had uploaded my CV on Job portals - dice.com and NetTemps.com. I received a call from the <US Employer>.
VO: How did they select you?
Me: I had a technical round of interview followed by an HR round.
VO: (After checking out something on the computer) Ok Sir, I am granting you the Visa. Your passport will be couriered to you.
Me: Thank you Ma'am, Have a nice day and a great Weekend! (Since it was a Saturday...she too was amazed and must have realised that...Ohhh...its a Saturday! ;-))
VO: Thank you! (With a big smile :-))

Thats it guys! Just be confident and no need to worry if you have all your documents in place and your US Employer is genuine. Please dont try to forge anything since the Visa officials can make out easily and the consequences can be severe. Hence relax and be confident, the Visa is just a step away. Do write to me in case you have any doubts / queries / concerns. All the best!

Best Regards,
Amit

I have been issued a 221(g), asking for the notarized list of employees of the petitioner. Am asked to drop the docs in the drop-box.

Should i drop my Passport along with the docs or not??? Please suggest at the earliest.

And if everything is fine, how many days/ weeks/ months would this process take.

Successful H1B in London ---- Non IT
First of all thanx a million to my god sai as he is always with me n for the moderator of this site in helping soo many people. I've been to H1B stamping in London yesterday morning n turned out successful.

Basically i am a Non IT(Mechanical) Post graduate staying in UK n applied for H1B. I was much tensed when i left to the US Embassy in Grossvenor St...London. But for my surprise due to the grace of my God, Sai....Everything went on sooo simple that, the councellor asked me just a few questions n granted me VISA.

Soon as i went in, he probably gave visa to one of the chineese student n she was thanking him. Next it was my turn n he just asked me to wait few moments as he was typing some of her details in the system. In the mean time i just saw some gifts next to him n asked him whether he already started gettin gifts for the Christmas. He sounded positive. Then,
VO: how long are you staying in this country?
Me: ....years
VO: what have u been doing?
ME: Finished my masters, but in Mechanical though
VO: Why are you moving to IT
Me: Coz i already done some software courses back home
VO: Can i see your Masters Degree
Me: Yes, Ofcourse n showed it to him

Thatz it...he said, ok i am going to issue you the VISA for....years...i said MErry Christmas to him. He did'nt even ask for any other documents at all. May SAI bless him too...Thank you guyz n just remember one thing...always try to be CONFIDENT...the world is not going to end even if something happens there...you got a bright future...so, all the best to you all

Successful H1B at New Delhi
Hello, Thanks to the moderator a website that is helping a lot of people. I got successful stamping in New Delhi on Nov 1st. I was on L1-B when i first went to US, changed my employer and again got back to the same parent US company.

The Guy before me got rejected and he kept asking the reason WHY but VO showed him the way to get out. This caused a little tension to me.

Me: Good Morning Sir.
VO: Good Morning

Handed over my PP and application to him.

VO: I have never heard about this company XX. Could you please tell me what they are doing?

Me: It is an IT consulting firm.
Before i completed

VO: You have been before for quite sometime now (about 2 years). So, your company is headquartered in YYYY and where do you work?

Me: YYY place sir.

VO: YYY is a little boring place.

Me: No Sir. It is not bad

VO: I know it is a little boring. How much do you earn?

Me: $ZZZZZ

VO: Do you sent money to your parents?

Me: Smilingly, Yes Sir.

VO: Your Visa is approved.

Me: Thank you.

VO: Earlier an L and now an H from the same company??

Me: I changed my employer and got back to the original US firm.

I took New Delhi under the category of returning from Work. For people who are returning from work, there is not much questions. Just have to be clear and confident in whatever we say.
