221 G issued - Adminsitrative processing, this office will contact you
Hi,
I attended the interview on october 25th. I applied for visa from terasoft, I need to work in client locatrion indianaplois. The consulate officer said me that He needs aletter from the client stating that he will place me there in his location. Blue colour form. The consulate officer said that they will contact the company and once they get the answer they will contact me how long will it take
First of all thanks to immihelp.com for maintaining this forum . I owe lot to this website as I am reading the experiences frequently.
I would like to share my H1B experience with you . I was the victim of most complex case .
I attended interview on Sep 22nd at Chennai Consulate and got 221G with the following documents ..
1. Petioner IncomeTax Return for last 2 years and financial statements .( I had shown the Tax returns for 2004 and 2005. VO said just bring this again )
2. A notarized list of all petioner employeses of the job site listed. The list should include all employee's names , their specific job titles, their individual salaries ans immigration status
3. Unemployement wage reports for the last 2 quarters as reported to the state of Georgia.
Visa Officer asked me to attend the consulate with the above details on any Tuesday, Wen Thursday without a new appointment.
I asked the qurey documents and my US employer provided all documents in 3 weeks time. Again I went to Consulate on Oct 19th ..
I submitted my docs in first building at 9:30 AM and was asked to go to second building where the actual interviews going on .. I remember the American VO who issued
221G to me and today he is at F1 counter . So I thought I would not face him again as another desi guy issuing H1B at that time. My name called at 1:30 PM
and I went to VO for interview . To my surprise, I was interviewed by the same guy who was issued 221 G ( This means, he switched from F1 visas to H1B to take my interview ). He asked only one question " Did you get the requested documents ? ". I told YES and submitted the documents. He took the docs and went inside and verified all documents online . It took 15 min for verification and finally he called me and said " VISA is approved ".
Normally 1:30 is lunch time , So all VO's took break . During this time, he called me for interview . Note that he did not turned to Computer at the counter but he used computer inside . I was asked to wait for some time, So I left the counter . Immediately another American guy occupied the counter and he started the interviews.
My VO switched to F1's once my interview is over This is my experience .
Hi friends,
I would like to share my experiance at chennai consulate on 19th of october.I went there to attend my H1B interview.Today i received my passport .I got my visa for 3 yrs.
Here is my experiance.
My visa time slot id 12:15 and i reached there by 10:30 itself.A very very long queue welcomed me.It was raining heavily and due to that they have delayed the interviews and were sending the people randomly. We were completely wet and after waiting for 4 long hours i was able to go inside. There some indian officials guided us to one queue where they have collected my ds forms,LCA,I1797B,HDFC bank receipt and put them in a green cover and sent me to another building.
There i went for finger print verification after that i stood in a queue where a middle aged american is interviewing. He was asking everyone to show the taxreturns of the employer company. But i don't have them. When my term came i went
me:gudafternoon sir
vo:gudafternoon how are u doing
me:fine and how abt u
vo:o great
v0:can i see ur marklists
me:showed them
v0:who is ur employer in US
me:xxxxx
V0:for which company r u presently working
me:xxxxxxxxx
v0:how long have u been working
me:xxxxxxxxx
V0:on which project u will be working on and who is the client
me:i will be working on an inhouse project which manages xxxxxxxxxxx
.I will not be working on any client side project.
V0:ok r u married
me:yes
V0:do u have kids
me:here i didn't hear the question properly so i said yes.
V0:how many kids
Me:then i realized that didn't hear the question properly.So i said sorry sir i don't have kids .
V0:he gave a big smile and said its ok
V0:is ur hubby acompanying u
me:no sir i will be travelling alone as he has got lot of responsibilities here,he will be staying in india itself
v0:he returned all the docs and told me u will get ur passport in a week .As we have series of holidays it takes a week to reach u.Have a nice day
me:thank u
It took hardly an hour to finish my interview and i came out. After coming out i realized i didn't submit my 2400 DD since no one asked me.Then i told the security guard regarding that,he took the DD and sent it to the conserned person.I was so worried whether i will get or not since no one asked me abt the DD.But today i got my passport stamped.
The visa will not be rejected if all the docs are perfect and if we are confident in answering their questions. One thing remember always
"you r not fully dressed until u wear a smile"
gud luck for all who r attending the visa interviews
Hi Group,
Firstly apologies for this delay in posting my experience.
Got my H1-B stamped @ Mumbai Consulate on the 18th.
The interview was very simple and easy.
The Visa Officer asked the following questions:
Are you Chaitanya **** **?
Who is your employer in the US?
Which City would you be going to this time?
How long have you been with your current employer?
Have you been to the US before?
Observations:
I had availed the VFS Stars & Stripes Lounge service. I was told that I would be allowed inside 2 hours proir to my interview slot. It turned out to be 30-45 min prior to my slot.
Hardly anyone was getting rejected that day. I was 4th in that Q of around 15 people (All H1-Bs) who were called to that window. The VO asked the people who went in before me 3-5 questions each.
The Story:
I had the 1'O clock slot on the 18th. I reached VFS Lounge @ 11:00 am, hoping I would be allowed in. Am told there that would be allowed in only an hour prior to my slot. hmm.... waited outside for an hour before being let in. ( This anyday was better than waiting outside the Consulate building, where there is no shade AND also of late people are not allowed to stand)
VFS Lounge was good. People are helpful. The Cloak room is the best. Were dropped to the Consulate building by the shuttle.
After the Security check were allowed into the building. Next into a Q where VFS people give you the documents submitted earlier. Ask for your Original I-797, and then put the DS-*** forms and the I-797 in your Passport. Also provide the yellow(some shade of Yellow) VFS courier envelope in which the DD for 2400 is put.
NOTE: I was immediately asked to proceed for fingerprints. There is a seperate window for H1 L1s. (Window #2). B1/B2s were asked to go to Window #1 for their fingerprint. Also the L-1s were not immediately sent for the fingerprints. They were asked to wait for sometime before being called to Window #2.
At Window #2, was asked for the Documents VFS had arranged for me. Submitted the same. Got a PINK acknowledgement slip for these. This has a NO on it. (TOKEN NO). Gave the fingerprints.
Waited for my TOKEN to be called out. It was after 30 mins. And the interview was over in a min.
Wasn't asked for any documents, and was given my Original I-797 back. Collected my passport the same evening through Rush Service.
Rush Service starts @ aroung 4:30 PM, and one has to take a XEROX of that PINK HDFC slip along. It takes a good hour to come out from Rush Hour service, so the earlier you are in the Q outside VFS Lounge the better!
Thanks Everyone for your their Support, Participation & Help!

Hi,
Thanks for the folks who have posted their experiences. It was very useful. Here is how my interview went
Location - Mumbai
Date - 18nth Oct 2006
Time - 11:30
Even though scheduled time is 11:30, I could get inside by 1:00. Then the usual procudure for finger prints (where I was given a token number -pink coloured cards), asked to wait till my number is called. VO was a lady and this is how the interview went.
VO : Good Morning sir, can I have your token please...
Me: Good Morning Mam, sure ( I gave a bunch of documents for which she smiled and said...)
VO: No sir, just that pink card, that would do.
(I gave my token card)
(From now on, she hardly saw my face, she was busy doing something in her laptop)
VO: Why do you wanna go to US sir?
Me: blah blah blah...
VO: Its very short time since you have joined ---, How did they(my present employer) find you suitable for the job?
Me: Mam, I have previous experience in the same field with another company, I have gud knowledge and experience.
VO: Knowledge...(broad smile seeing my face), so, where did you get this knowledge from?
Me: (With smile) both from my present and past employer mam..
VO: What is your X-employer basically into?
Me: PDA's
VO: PDA? Whats that?
Me: Personal Digital Assistant, it is... (she interrupted me and said...)
VO: Tats fine sir(with a smile), do You know your salary in US?
Me : Yes mam, (and said whatsoever in document)
VO: Sir, can You speak near the mike (not sure with the spelling of mike), I can hardly hear you..
(I was standing a bit away from mike)
Me : yeah, sure, (moved near) and repeated my salary.
VO: This is audible (smiling at me)..Which technology do you work in sir?
Me: Perl and Unix mam...
VO: Perl? What's that?
Me: ( I just expanded perl, before I could start of, she said...)
VO: Thats fine sir, Your visa is issued and you will get your passport in 2 working days.
Me: Thanks a lot mam, Have a great day ahead.
VO : Thank You sir, you too.
That's it friends. Please note, I was not asked for any of the documents from my side (even though i was prepared with all). I was just asked for my token card (not even my petition). I guess its because I took the BEP route. Anything may it be, that day was a gud day. Just a couple of quick points..
1. please be thorough with the necessary documents(tricky word of-coarse, "necessary" varies from person to person :-), I saw guys being issued 221g because for missing documents et al).
2. please be in complete formal (with TIE, ID card - just to give a professional look)
May God smile on you guys as He did to me. Gud luk.
Successful H1, H4 stamping Experience at US Consulate, Dubai on Oct 19th
I was there at the consulate at 5:45 in the morning. I was 3rd in the queue then. The security opened the white cabin by around 6:50 AM and the proceeding began.
The Visa Officer was a nice lady. The following questions were asked.
1. What is your academic qualification.
2. Why have you chosen software field after taking electronics and communication engineering. How did you manage it?
3. Which is your company?
4. How many employees do they have?
5. How did you get this job?
6. Where do you stand in the company hierarchy.
7. Your job profile in your new company?
8. How many years of experience do you have in this same profile.
9. List the companies where you have worked.
10.Which state in US are you going?
11.What was the purpose of your last trip to US.
10. (To my wife) How long have you been married? Your marriage certificate please.
My observations regarding the stamping are ..
Be confident and answer all questions without any fear and try to highlight your strong points(for eg. Software certifications). I didn't have a client letter, project specification or tax returns of my employer.
Hi all
Thnks for posting ur experiences wich helped me in doing my interview with confidence.
I have attended my interview on 19th oct at 4.30 pm
Main Q's frm the Visa officer would be abt ur EMPloyer in US,ABt Client,Abt current employer
Know moe abt all ur employers wht they do, like their products and projects and have brief notes of them.It helps u a lot.Carry all relavant docs like H1papeprs,taxreturs,and photographs of the company.
Dont ever think Visa officer in chennai r not friendly ,they r and professional in their services.so Have conficence in ur self prepare ur docs correct .Dont expect particulat Q's frm visa officer and dont read ur answers as u preapared try to explain the things in a general way.Dont imagine visa officer as an evil and treat him as ur frien.Nothing wrong in tht and aswer to him as u do it to ur fren but in a professional way
Commin to my Visa i was issued a 221g to submit some docs of my employer whic i am going to do so in next week.
Hope i will get the visa.
