Did anyone go for a H1 visa stamping when they are in their H1 extesion stages. Is it a good idea to go to any of the inidan counselates to get the visa stamped or is it better to go to canada or mexico and get the visa stamped before going to india???????Please reply very urgent

Successful H1 Stamping at Delhi

I have attended interview on 16-oct-06.
My Interview lasted for 2 min's.
Delhi is a very cool place to attend interview.
Interview Question's are
1) how long have u been working with the current company
2) have u visited any other country
3) do you hav relatives at us
4) Are u single
he didn't ask for single document.

My H1-B interview is scheduled for 04/11, Mumbai Consulate. I have all the required documents except the Tax Returns of my petitioner, which they are not willing to provide. How important are Petitioner's Tax Returns and can I go to the interview without them?

Successful H1 stamping from Delhi
I have been looking up this site since the last few months..This is a very good site for visa aspirants....
I had my interview on Oct 19th at the Delhi consulate...
For entry you need to show the visa interview letter.There are consulate staff outside the counters who arrange your documents-I797, Visa DD,DS156,157 forms,visa interview letter,passport- in a particular order and give it to you. Please do not change this order.
Then the documents are verified at the consulate counters. The officers at these counters tell u to correct any mistakes/blank columns. In my case, I had not entered anything in the DS-156 for QNo 22 -When do u plan to arrive?
Then inside the consulate, there is a separate que for finger printing. I had the time slot of 9a.m but the interview actually started at 9.30.The following questions were asked:
1. When did u join ur present company
2. Tell me about ur petitioner
3. Since my husband was already there at US, the VO asked me where he works, since when he has been in US, etc.
The VO did not ask me the appointment/client letter or any degree/experience certificate...I was really surprised..It lasted for only 5-7 minutes....

I thank all the members of immihelp for sharing all there experiences, it really helped me in preparing for my H1B interview, which I got through successfully on 16-Oct-06 at Mumbai Consulate. Almost all the question that were asked by VO were posted in Immihelp, so it was easy for me to respond
The following is the conversation I had with the VO is as follows,
Me: Good Morning Maam.
VO: Good Morning, how are you doing.
Me: I am doing good, how about you.
VO: I am fine, So..
VO: So for which company you work.
Me: I work for X company.
VO: Oh..(she was impressed as company X was one of the top companies in the world).... So you working for company X in india and going for same company X in U.S, correct.
Me: No, I am going to work for company Y in U.S
VO: So you are going to quit company X.
Me: Yes
VO: How did you come to know about the company Y.
Me: I registered in DICE, as my profile matched with the requirement of company Y they shortlisted my name.
VO: What is your salary in company Y.
Me: xxxxxx $
(she looks into her computer for about 1 min)
VO: Why do you want to go to U.S
Me: To get international exposure and blah blah
VO: So You already have a valid B1 visa?
Me: Yes
VO: Where are you going to stay in U.S
Me: xxxxxxx city
VO: You are visa is approved, we will courier it to your address:
Me: Thanks a lot
I was really confident in my answers, so be loud and clear in your answers and pray to god , he will definitely help you.
I just waited for 5 mins inside the consulate and since all the counters were operational that they they called my token number in just 5 mins. That also helped

Hey all you guys, Thank you sooo much for all these experiences which made our preparation very easy and made ourselves more prepared for the interview. Thanks Immihelp for this wonderful forum!
Our interview was at 8 am and we were there by 7 am.. its always better be there early since there's a long queue and many procedures.
One important point for Husbands and wives going together - i did not know this earlier - husbands take care of each and everything for the wife.. wife should just accompany him.. husband should have all the documents, passport of his wife!
There are 13-15 counters, so, its fast moving. The VO in the our counter had just rejected a H4 and we were tensed.
Below were the questions VO asked us (hardly anything directly to my wife) -
1. Are you a MS in Computer Science from XYZ Univerty? (Brownie Points I think).
2. Why do you want to go to the US?
3. How did you get to know about this ABC Co.?
4. What's the strength of the company?
5. What's the turnover of the company?
6. How long have you been married (looking at my wife)?
7. Where did you get married?
She nodded and said, you will get your passport in 2 to 3 days. We were soo happe, despite me being so nervous!
That's all... NO DOCUMENTS CHECKED! .. It lasted for about 2 minutes. I suppose she saw our huge files and knew we have everything in place! Yes, PLEASE DO KEEP AL DOCUMENTS IN PLACE AS ITS VERY IMPORTANT!

Error in filling electronic forms - DS-157
Hi
I have missed out writing AISSCE (12th) in the DS-157 in the "Course of Study" column of the Educational Institutions Section. The PDF documents have been generated. Please let me know if it is ok to make this entry in Pen (What color ink?) or do I need to cancel and apply again ?

First of all,I thank this site which helps me to get a H1b visa.

VO: Hello, How are you?
Me: Iam fine, How are you?
VO: Can I have your green folder?
Me: Here.
VO: What's your educational qualification?
Me: M.Sc
VO: In this documents,I couldnt able to see the Tax Return Statement of the Employer.
Me: But I have attached the Tax return statement.(I showed him the Tax return statement).
VO: This is not a Tax return statement.
Me: (I shocked and didnt speak any for a seconds)
VO: Do you have any other documents of your employer.
Me: Yes (I produced the Photographs of the Company)
VO: Ok.
Me: Thank you very much.
since i kept full faith on my god and self-confidence,it helps me to succeed my visa interview and my suggestion is pls try to carry some pics of your company with the help of Google earth or Microsoft Live Map.
