Passport Renewal Experience (Washington DC)
First, I wish everyone stays safe as these are challenging times for everyone.
Sharing experience:
1) Only 2 passport size photographs. Pasted one on the first page of the application and another on change of appearance form.
2) Added spouse name to my passport: No need to send any certificate as Annexure E is for that purpose where we acknowledge family person names.
3) Used CKGS shipping option as it is better compared to self posting.
4) Used Notary service in UPS
5) I sent my US driver's license (UPS Notarized) and an Indian Adhaar card copy (Self Notarized). Strictly adhere to the checklist and you won't have any issues.

Reissue of lost passport
Hi,
I was asked to send additional pending documents by consulate a week ago and the application was ON HOLD .I attached a copy of my lost passport on the same email and sent them. However it's been a week and there is not update. Should I be worried ....can somebody guide me as to what to do? Because there is no address as such to send the document to consulate and also they did not mention anything like that.

Reissue of old expired passport, Indian address required?
Dear friends,
I'm helping a relative apply for a passport reissue. Her Indian passport expired more than 10 years ago. Has anyone tried to renew such a long out of date passport?
It appears that a "nationality verification form" was previously required but that seems to have changed.
Second, is an address in India required for the CKGS/NRI passport reissue process? She has no one left in India at this point, so not sure which address we can provide besides her USA address.
Lastly, do they require a precise name match between the passport and her US residency documents? She got married and added her husband's last name, keeping her original last name as her middle name.

Passport renewal NY
I have applied for passport renewal at NY embassy and received a mail from consulate to provide wife's passport copy until then your application is On-Hold.
I provided the required document next day (attached the doc on my reply to their mail), but haven't got any response from consulate yet, it's been more than 4-5 days.
Should I be worried?
Note: I recently got married and not adding wife's name in the passport.

Passport renewal at Washington DC (CKGS Fedex shipment)
Sharing my own experience -
1) Didn't add any lose photos, only pasted 2 photos on 2 forms (no of forms needing photo is applicant dependent). Got photos from local Costco and just asked for passport photos and didn't mention anything exclusive.
2) I opted for CKGS paid shipping for both sides (FedEx).
3) Used USPS notary.
4) For adding spouse name I didnt add any document as there was nothing on checklist. (Yes this was a surprise)
5) Forgot to paste the application barcode on the FedEx envelope (a small barcode which is there in my account page for printout and it has the ref number from embassy website ). They should put this in checklist but anyways this didn't turn out to be an issue. May be this is because it took 4 days to update the status to received for me,
Here is the timeline:
Feb 24th Mon - Dropped the package at local fedex.
Feb 25th Tue - FedEx delivered to CKGS (from this point I was worried as I didn't paste application ref barcode on the outside of FedEx Envelope.
