I work for an American product company and had my visa interview on August 11. The interview was pretty straight forward and quick.
Me: Hi, good afternoon.
VO: Good afternoon, how are you? Can I have your documents please?
*Doc handover*
VO: So what will you be doing in the US?
Me: *Briefly explain responsibilities including mentoring junior engineers.*
VO: How does mentoring involve using specialized skills?
Me: Mentoring junior engineers is only one part of my job duties, I will be mentoring them on and using my specialized knowledge of internal and proprietary tools.
VO: Alright, thanks. Congratulations, your visa has been approved.
*Hands over stamped I129S*
Gen tips: Be confident, dress well; Don't overthink it like I did (to no avail)

My case got approved and thanks to this forum and contributors!!
I had my interview on 18-Aug 10AM slot. I reached consolate at 9:15 and I was out by 11AM. Almost all steps are pretty quick for L1B, not much waiting.
Questions:
VO: So you applied for l1 before (Rejected)
SG: Yes Sir, That was from my first employer in 2008
VO: You work for YYYY now
SG: Yes, that's right, I work for YYYY (strong brand name - ZZZ)
VO: How long you are working with ZZZ
SG: X yrs Y Months (Over 5)
VO: Where will you be working from (in the US)
SG: YY, ZZ
VO: Who do you have there
SG: ABCD is our client
VO: What is your salary in US and India
SG: Basic + Bonus + allowances and ZZ Lakhs in india
VO: What is your specialization
SG: TTT Tool, and couple of sentences in basic english on how it increases overall efficiency for the client.
VO: What was your role in that tool
SG: Architect
VO: How long did it take to develop this tool
SG: XY Months
VO: How many architects where there and what was the team size
SG: X architects and YY Team size at peak
VO: Why can't the other architects travel
SG: They are occupied in other projects and given the complex nature of this implementation, I was chosen.
VO: Have you implemented this tool for other clients
SG: Yes 1 client in some other country and 1 client in US (With Names)
VO: So you travelled to "other" country
SG: No Sir, that was a small implementation and we could execute from offshore
VO: Why did you not bring your family
SG: Assignment is short, so didn't want to do lot of reshuffling (kid just started schooling).
VO: What is your kids age

VO: Golden Words!!
Overall it was a pretty beaten pattern of questions, its all about the preparation. My two cents, do prepare well and VO is only trying to counter validate the facts from your DS160.
So it is all about having the right information reg specialization in DS160, for you to support in the interview.

I would like to thank each and everyone here in this forum for sharing their wonderful experience and guiding people like me to prepare for interview.. I applied for L1B visa in Aug2016 and got Approved.
Questions:
Which company you work for?
What’s your Specialization?
What’s your purpose of travel?
Why can’t you accomplish the task from India, why is it really required your travel to States?
Will you be working in client office?
What’s your salary in states?
How long you will be there?
Few of the myth’s I came across before I attend interview, if you are bachelor your Visa will be rejected I am not sure if it’s really true, because in my case it’s approved.

L1B blanket
Thanks to everyone for posting their experiences on this blog. Now its my tun to give back to this community.
On the day of VAC appointment. They asked for below documents:
1. DS-160 confirmation page
2. Appointment letter
3. Original Passports
Please keep your pen drive or other electronic items at home, otherwise you have to deposit them at the ground floor of the building, which seems to be operated by some private owner.
On the day of consular appointment. One thing to remember is not to bring backpacks or any other closed bags. I took my laptop bag along with me and they got it deposited before consular office itself. Only open carry bags are allowed. So, I would suggest you to carry open carry bags otherwise you need to carry all your documents by hand. Now, finally the questions are:
To me :
What is the name of your company.
Ans: Name of my Indian company. She did not seem to get name of this company so I added little about the domain of my company.
How long you have been working with this company.
Ans: I told the duration . 3yrs
What is your designation
Ans: Told her the same
What will be your salary
Ans: Told her
What is your specialization.
Ans: I've expertise in ... I've advance level of understanding of ...
How many employees in your company have worked on this device driver.
Ans: Told her the no.
How many employees are there in US?
Ans: Told her the no.
Why are they send you only and not any of the other employees who worked on this device driver.
Ans: I'm key lead employee. I've total experience of 12 years. I've expertise in ... and couple of other sentences which prove I'm unique among other employees, as per my cover letter given by employer.
What is your marriage date:

How old is your daughter

L1B Blanket visa rejected
I got my L1B blanket rejected yesterday and got blue 221 G for L1B Blanket. When I track my application on https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx it says Under Admin Processing, does it mean they are still considering as it should be refused there?
VO kept one copy of I-797 and I-129S and return all documents including passport and gave Blue 221g and checked a statement - "Your blanket L1 is not clearly approvable under Section 8 CFR 214.2(I)"
Please anyone suggest what i have to do?. I didn't attend very well

L1b individual for 3.5 years experienced
Hi All,
I have gone through entire posts in immihelp for l1b individual but, I could find that, what are the chances of l1b individual approval for 3.5 years(total with the same company) experienced? I am working for a well known MNC and I am only the resource in our group having the knowledge and hold of the framework as I have solely developed it. By analysing this scenario can some one please nail down the possibilities of my visa approval ?
