Thanks for this website and people sharing their experiences, I had some idea what questions to expect.
My interview went like this.
V.O : Which company do u work for?
Me: YYYY
V.O : Designation?
Me: Sr. Software Engineer
V.O: Salary in INR per annum?
Me: YYYY
V.O: So your company is in E-Commerce and Supply Chain?
Me: Yes
V.O: Who is your client?
Me: I do not work for any client. I work for my product development.
V.O:What do you work on?
Me: I started explaining my specialization, but V.O interrupted me and asked what it is.(He wanted to know the product/project)
After some confusion, explained about my project.
They look at you intermittently. You should say these lines with confidence and clearly and maintain eye-to-eye contact, which i failed to do.
V.O : What langauges you use?
Me: We use proprietary tools.
V.O: But, you should be using some language?
Me: Explained the languages I used. The final nail in the coffin i think.
V.O: What is your role in the project?
Me: explained in 3 sentences.
V.O: Thank you.
Started typing somethin and then said I cannot approve the Visa. With same reason as given to others and gave the blue sheet.

Try to give answers just like 2 to 3 lines. Always confident sweet answers

I had a visa interview today and went very well.....
Was standing behind the line, was tensed because two before me were denied! Finally the Visa Officer (VO) greated me with a warm smile.
VO: Please come sir.
ME: Good morning officer
VO: Very good morning, how are you doing?
ME: Doing good, Thank you. How about you?
VO:Thanks, Great!
(Collected my documents,started looking at them)
Youwork for YYYY Inc. How long you are working with them?
ME: xx years xx months.
VO: What is your total experience?
ME: xx years.
VO: What did you company do?
ME: Bla bla Ba.... (Clear cut 3 sentences)
VO: What is yur nature of work?
ME: bla bla ba....... (Clear cut three sentences)
VO: What is you specilation?
ME: bla Bla Ba.... Just one sentence

ME: No one
VO: How many people report to you in India?
ME: xx people
VO: What is your Indian salary?
ME: xx.xx L

ME: Yes, 2 times, 5 weeks and 4 weeks.
VO: What did you do there?
ME: Was basically involved in business meetings, technical discussions and review meetings and meeting people.
VO: 5 weeks for business meetings and Technical discussion is too long.
ME: Travelled to muliple location in US
VO: Still it is too long Sir.
ME: Actually.... he stoped me to say ......
VO: Sir, your visa approved.
ME: Thank you officer.
Then he explaind me returning 2 sets of document, keep one and hand over another to you company. Insisted me to carry my copy while travelling.
I think, it is your confidence level work here also bit of you company and natureof job.
Advise: Be confident, listen & understand the questions carefully before answering. Don't try to give quick answers, take your time. They will give you enough time to understand question and answer. And finally eye contact is must, don't try to peep what he is doing?

So prepare well

Not able to register
Why am I not able to register even after giving the correct security code several times. After I enter the code correctly it says Incorrect verification code. Pls help me out.

L1B VISA Approved in Chennai
I have attended L1B VISA interview on 24 Apr 2012 @12:45 PM.
Before we go to the interview details, kindly note down below things:
1) Do not carry any bag, carry only docs in a folder or polly-pack
2) Mobile and other small things you can deposit there
3) Carry some cash, as in my case $ coversation rate was increased and due to that i ahd to deposit 8k extra apart from the Demand Draft. So its better to carry some cash.
1st step:
Take token from counter outside the consulate and go inside.
2nd Step:
Wait for your token no, token no will be displayed and screens. Go to the counter with all your docs.
3rd Step:
Go to the next counter for finger print scanning
4th Step (Interview):
Now go to next room for interview and wait for your turn.
Interview:
VO: How long you have been working with this company?
ME: 7 years and 8 months
VO: What is your indian salary ?
ME: xyz....
VO: What would be your US salary ?
ME: xyz....
VO: What would be your location in US?
ME: xyz...
VO: Since when you are working for this project?
ME: x years
VO: What is you role in current team ?
ME: I am working as a technical Lead
VO: How many team members with the same role in your team?
ME: 4
VO: What is the size of your team?
ME: 20
VO: What expertise do you have for this project?
ME: xyz...
VO: OK...Thanks...your VISA is approved.

Hi All,
Thanks to immihelp.com site for sharing valuable information and guiding us throughout the VISA process. I have attended VISA interview on 11-Apr @ Chennai and was given a PINK slip showing that my case is pending for Admin procession 221(g). It was a suspense till yesterday 23-Apr on the status of my VISA. I got a mail from VFS yesterday that my passport is ready for delivery. Today I got my passport with L1B stamped for 3 years.
All I want to say is that confidently answer the questions on your specialized skills and what will you be doing in US. Should not be a generic skill or a team work. The answer should be specific to you and a proprietary tool/product/framework developed by your company. All the best ..
