L1B Individual Petition and L2 Visa Approval at Chennai
First of all thanks a lot to everyone who shared their experience here which helped me go well prepared though it turned out to be very smooth and easy one.

This was my first L1B visa interview.

After taking counter etc we were called in first window where the lady asked whether mine was blanked petition to which I replied no individual one. Then she asked me to show I-209 form (I had only copy of that as provided by my company's US lawyer).

Anyway after initial screening and finger printing, time came for big moment. While we were waiting for our turn in queue, we saw a lady visa officer rejecting a guy's application on adjacent window. Not sure whether he was on H1 or L1.

Then on another window, a girl was getting beaten up by another visa officer. That made me nervous for a moment but then I saw my window office granting visa to a couple before us which boosted my confidence.

Finally, Q&A started:

O: You have applied for L1 visa?
I: Yes.

O: What's your designation?
I: I am working as Sr. System Architect in XYZ group.

O: Which company you work for?
I: XYZ

O: What do they do?
I: We work in telecom space and building converged voice and messaging products.

O: Where are you going?
I: XYZ

O: So, will you be working in-house or with clients?
I: Working in company's HQ, yes in-house.

O: What will be your US salary?
I: $XYZ

Then, he returned by I-797 letter saying this is for you to keep it and rest (passport etc) is for them. He said I will get our passport in a week's time.

Then he added have a nice day and I echoed same to you.

He didn't ask a single question to my wife. The hit is there was no entry of hers in my passport or vice versa. I was hoping him to at least ask for marriage certificate or any proof to show she is my wife but officer was cool and joyful!

VO: It doesn't mean that you are not qualified or you can't travel to united states. This kind of visa will be approved only for specialized knowledge personals. Ask your HR to apply for some other type of visa, see you again.

The visa officer was very cool and try to convince me. They will validate your answer based on your confidence and how fluent you are. Don't be nerves/tensed. Be confident with your answers and cool you will get it.
Don't check this forum befor the PA, go through before applying for the visa.

L1A individual + L2 approved at chennai consulate
I am taking this opportunity to thank everyone who have helped by posting their experiences. I am infact interested in posting a very detailed experience of my L1 visa including the petition filing process and answering RFEs in my following blog post.

Here is my experience at the consulate.
I attended the interview along with my family (my wife and daughter) and the all people were very kind in assisting and guiding us. After completing the finger printing, we went straight ahead to attend the interview. The VO was a very kind lady and this is how the interview went...

Me: Hello! how are you?
VO: Doing Great! How about you?
Me: Yes, Doing Great.
VO: (Looked at my daughter).. How old is the young one?
Me: 3 years and 7 months
VO: She is cute. May I see the petition?
Me: Thanks. ( I took only the petition (20 pages) from the 300+ page documents that attorney gave me)
VO: What's your designation in India?
Me: Manager - Product Marketing & Business Development
VO: Are you going as a manager?
Me: Yes.
VO: What's your salary here?
Me: YYYY X per annum.
VO: Which part of US are you going to?
Me: Sunnyvale, California
VO: Do you have hiring and firing authority
Me: Yes
VO: turned to my life and smiled, how long have you been married?
Wife: 4 years
VO: Love Marriage?
Wife: Yes
VO: How old is the young one? (Oh you already said it's 3 years 7 months right?)
Me: Yes
VO: I am approving your visa and you will receive your passport in 7 days.

We came out happily and I then checked my documents to ensure that we haven't missed anything at the consulate.
