I attended L1 interview yesterday (06/09/2011) in Chennai.
The VO was very cool and she was approving L2 visa for the 2 persons standing before me in queue.
It increased my confidence level.
The questions asked were very usual and as follows.
VO: How long you are with you current organization
Me: 4 Years
VO: Why are you going to US?
Me: Explained my project and responsibilities
VO: What is your specialization?
Me: Explained about the pre proprietary tools used for this project
VO: How many other people in your company have these skills?
Me: There is only one other person who has the similar skill set.
VO: What is your Indian salary?
Me: INR *** per annum
VO: What is your US salary?
Me: $*** per month
VO: Where are you going to stay in US?
Me: New Jersey
VO: New Jersey is very costly. How will you manage your expenses?
Me: I will be getting US allowance of $ **** per month in addition with my Indian salary INR ****
VO: Okay. So you are going to work in your client’s place xxx?
Me: No. xxx is not my client. I am going to work in my Parent company xxx.
VO: Did you join xxx with this proprietary knowledge?
Me: No. I got training in xxx.
VO: This particular visa type is very strict and issued only to the highly specialized people. Please ask your company to apply for some other visa.

L1B approved at hyd - 6 sep 2011
VO - whats your experience in current organisation?

It was very less , so i started with client experience which was more.
VO- which compnies you worked before?

xxx and yyyy ( same client )

VO - Indian Salary?

Replied back in thousands

Specialization?

explained about the methodology and convinced that i am the only one.. In between he looks at me , to check whether i maintain eye contact..

VO - You will get passport in one week time. Approved.

Thanks for valuable suggestions to this site.
There was a rejection before me as the lady explained that it takes 6 months to train other ppl.. never say this , say that you are the only one who developed this and for others to develop this , they need to knw client as well as ur tool , and other s/w..

Also don use common words like testing , training and onsite co ordination etc.. you wil get reject for sure..

Al the best guys.,.

Thanks
Priya

L1 Blanket Approved @ Hyderabad on Sep 6th
VO : How long have you been working with your company?
VO : Who is your Client?
VO : Tell me about the project (product)?
VO : Tell me about Specialized Skill?
VO : What is your current salary?
VO : Which location you will be working in US?
VO : Are you married or single?

In my view , the VO might be looking for how confident you are and how specialized you are for the current project you will be working on. I would advise to prepare the first four questions no matter what.. (preferably - in brief .. not a detailed one).

One more observation, guys with prior US experience are thru easily.

-Sashi

Got L1 B and L2 B approved at New Delhi embassy

Questions:

1. wha do you do for the company
2. Where in US you will work
3. Client Name
4. What is your specialized knowledge

My advice: not only you speak about tools etc.. also speak about how you know things about the company like their sales strategy, delivery models that make you unique for the job.

Best o Luck !

L1 A Blanket and L2 approved at Delhi on 19th August
Hi,

First of all Thanks to the numorous posts, which guided me to face the interview.

My company has applied for my L1 A blanket and date of interview was 19th August.

Going by the current rejection rate and stories on the this forum I was little scared.

On the day of interview after going through all the formalities they asked for my daughter age and given me priority number.

After having alll the documents checked and finger prints taken for me and my wife we waited for 5 minnutes for our turn.

Here are the questions asked:

VO: Why are you going to US and what will be your profile?

VO: how much experenice do you have and team size you are handling?

VO: DO you have hire and fire authority?

VO: Why balnket not individual?

VO: Which project and details of project at US and team size.

No quesitons asked to wife.

Then he said your visa is approved.

So overall 5 mintutes it took.
