L1B Approved in Hyd
Hi All,
I really thankfull to all who have posted their experiences and it was very much useful to me for today s Interview and got through it .
Thanks once again for great help.
My Experience of today s interview is :
1)Whats your company?
2)What s the experience?
3)Who s the client?
4)Your specialise skill? Thats it !
I gave answers to all of the questions Confidently,Spontaneous and Maintaining Eye Contact without any blinks .
He asked me the question and was looking at his computer screen so please dont stop if even he s not seeing you go on with you answers without any break.
Mine and other 3 petitions before are unfortunate to get our Visas Rejected in straight. None of interview is not more than 3 minutes.
Thanks to this forum, it has really useful information. Most of the questions are already posted in this forum and straight forward question, I am not repeating the same. Myself and person before got the following questions.
1) What is your specialization? (Expected)
Follow up questions?
2) Howmany people are there with this specializatin in your company?
2) What happens to your project if you fell sick and could not attend to duties?
Officer told me, "I don't find anything unique in the duties that you perform, any body can do this".
Ensure duties mentioned in the documentation mainly focuses on the specialization, in addition to regular activities. I think, mine was rejected because documentation is not good.
**** One point to remember, that I already read in this forum. L-1B Blanket is for the Specialized skills. Your answer must always talk about how your are unique. UNIQUE. UNIQUE.
Ensure your answers must support your documentation for the questions that Visa Issues Officer asks..
Any documents asked during the course of interview
Hi,
Could someone please let me know if any of you were asked any documents during the course of interview for L1 B visa. Documents can be justification letter, I-797, I129 etc.
Firstly, I'd like to thank all the people who'd posted their experience on this website. Needless to say, I learnt most from the people whose blanket petitions got rejected. Below is the transcript of my interview:
1. How long have you been with XYZ?
1 Year, 4 Months
2. What do you do?
Iâm an ABC practitioner, I do DEF for my clients in the US. But the specialization that brings me to the US is my design and development of the GHI model, which is a proprietary tool of XYZ.
3. What does the tool do?
It does JLK (something really complex).
4. Which client are you going to serve?
XYZ, US. Iâll be working on an internal project. Weâre planning to create a market offering out of the tool.
5. How long do you intend to stay?
5 months.
6. Whatâs your salary in India?
Rs. MNO gross, around $PQR per annum.
7. Whatâs your salary in US?
$STU per annum.
The key is to have a thorough understanding of the visa you've applied for. L-1B Blanket needs extraordinary specialization on something you've worked on (even better if you've developed it).
The crucial aspect to remember here is the difference between L-1B Blanket and L-1B Individual (from the answers posted on this forum, I could easily observe that a lot of applications were rejected based on their answer to this question). For L-1B Blanket, firstly, your company should meet one of the following criteria:
- Must have three or more domestic and foreign branches, subsidiaries, and affiliates
- Must meet one of the following criteria
- - Along with the other qualifying organizations, have obtained at least 10 L-1 approvals during the previous 12-month period; or
- - Have U.S. subsidiaries or affiliates with combined annual sales of at least $25 million; or
- - Have a U.S. work force of at least 1,000 employees.
Secondly, and more importantly, you should qualify as a PROFESSIONAL. In other words, you should belong to an elite society of professionals (such as engineers, doctors, etc.)...so be prepared to defend yourself as a professional (e.g. Engineer from XYZ college). There's a good possibility that your college might not be well-recognized by the VO. So don't feel afraid of bring up your membership of well-recognized societies like IEEE, CFA Institute, etc.
And yes, it's not as big a deal as many here have made of it. Keep your chill and sound very confident...after all, you're extraordinary! If I can prove my specialization with just 1 year in an organization, I'm sure everyone can! All the best! Go nail that interview of yours!

Again started explaining like âi am specialized in design and development of components and assembly....
she interrupted again , asked next question

Answer: My salary in India is YYYY rupees per Annum.
Visa Officer Comments:
Then, she stamped on I-129s and give it to me and told me that you visa approved and you will get your passport within 6 working days
My L1A blanket visa was approved @ chennai on 13th September. Few questions were only asked.
1) How old is your son?
2) How much experience do you have in your company?
3) Whats your designation in your company?
4) Whats your salary in the US?
5) Whats your specialization?
6) Where will you be staying in the US?
no questions asked to my wife and kid. The lady approved my Visa and said that my passport will be despatched and will reach me in 5 working days.
My L1B blanket approved at Chennai consulate. Questions asked :-
0- how many times have u been to usa before, have u applied for any visa before ?
1 - What is ur exp in company
2 - What is ur total exp ( total exp is same as company exp )
3- Why u going to usa ( told him abt it in 2-3 lines.)
4- How many in onsite ( incl my manager 3)
5- how u fit in ( explained him. he seemed to be satisfied with my answers )
6- ur indian salary ( told him in thousnads)
7- ur designation in company ( told him )
He was simultaneousl entering details on his system and also entered my purpose of visit. after about a minute he told me that my visa is approved and passport will be deilvered in a weeks time .
My Views :
1- be yourself . dont try to mug answers and speak to VO beacuse chances will be that you will fumble when answering as u may not recall some words.
2- maintain eyecontact and stand at ease Dont be tense.
3 - dont give VO any chance of rejecting a visa. one of my frnd got rejected because he didnt spoke correct name of the place whr he was going.
My interviwe was at 9:45 i had reached consulate around 9:15 and waited in queue for 30 mins and then entered in. It took 2 hours for me to face VO
