L1B Visa Interview
First of all thanks a ton to this site for providing such a opportunity to read the experiences of others.
I and my wife got interviewed on 9th Jan in Chennai.
We reached there before 45 min. of the timing and immediately we were allowed to go inside.
After going insied we got our documents scanned in scanning counter.
Our company has the BEP membership so we need not to go in the next building for Consulate interview rather for BEP members they had 12 and 1 no. counter open for interview at the scanning area only.
We gave the interview there.
The questions he asked were:
How long you have been working in xxxxx
I told that I have been working in the company for 2 years and one month.
Then he asked which is your client .
I told I am going to our group company xxxxx.

That's it.
than he told my wife to put left hand thumb on the scanning machine, she did the same.
Consulate tells perfact.
and then he told the golden words that sometimes next week you will get your passports.

It was a very friendly interview.

Tips to everyont be confident and dont lose it.

Thanks everybody.

It was very friendly.

L1-B & L2 Approved on 9th Jan-Chennai Consulate
Hi,
Thanks to everyone who posted their exp in this forum. The following questions are asked.
1.Who is your client?
2.How long have you been working with this client?
3.What are you doing for your client?(This looks simple but needs to explain more)
4.What is your specialized skills to achive your client goals?

I answered all the questions and no questions for my spouse.
Finally he said, Your Visa has been approved and will get with in 7 working days.
FYI - Once you submit your 25,000 DD, next counter will be Visa interviewer counter. I explained what i did on 9th Jan.
I submitted DD to VFS counter and counter incharge asked me to go to 2nd counter. I was moving to 2nd counter but one VFS guy checked my I-129s form and directed to go to separate counter. Interviewer asked my docs. I thought this is also one of the VFS helpdesk to verify my documents. Suddenly he asked above two questions. I was wondering why he is asking this type of questions. But suddenly i have seen 221-G form next to him. That time only i came to know he is an visa interviewer and i am attending Visa interview. This is just for your info.

L1-B Approved !!!
Hi All,
Thanks everyone who posted their valuable experiences in this site, it really helped me to prepare well and go in the right frame of mind.
My Exp: I had my interview on 5-Jan-2009, 13:30; I reached the consulate well in advance by 12.30, by 13:40 I was inside the building,
At the entrance they check your Passport and Interview letter
After getting inside, there is security check and ask for any closed envelopes/covers, please do not carry any closed envelopes, they do not accept.
After the security check, you enter the main building, where in you are guided to stand in one of the queues at the various counters, here all your VISA documents are checked and then they take your finger prints,( I saw one person was asked to take a new photograph, since the photo (50x50) was not proper, I guess there is a photo studio inside the consulate itself, not sure). After your finger prints are taken, you are asked to go the other building for the VISA interview.
You need stand in the queue, The VFS staff will guide you any of the various counters.
(There are separate counters for interviews in different languages)
My interview:
VO: Hi, How are you doing?
Me: Hi, I am doing well. How about you?
VO: Great.
VO: took finger print again
<Looking into my Documents>
VO: What do you mean by YYYY Product?
Me: I gave him details about the Proprietary Product
VO: What is your role?
Me: explained in 2 sentences
VO: Who is your Client?
Me: informed him about the client
VO: what will you do after this project?
Me: Answered him that we have many projects in pipeline will be moving on to any one of those

That’s it. He said “Your VISA is issued, will be dispatched in 7 days time to your address. Have a great time in US. And have a wonderful new year”
Incidentally, there were no questions to my wife.
Points to be noted:
1. Be confident, keep a pleasant face and have a smile
2. Wear Formals, TIE is recommended
3. Check your documents properly, Carry the documents in transparent polythene
4. Make sure documents are proper and arranged well
5. Make sure that you mention the “Proprietary” tools/products.
6. Wear your company id
All the best!!

Before sharing my experience, i would like to thank this site , as it helped me to face the interview with confident. Thanks a ton.

My Experience:
The day: Visa interview by 13.30, Monday.I reached with my son (3yrs & 6 mths old) to chennai visa office by 12.30, as i was waiting for my turn, the vfs people helped me to go in first as i was alone with my son.

1) VFs (guides) they first ask for visa appointment letter with passport. after verifiying,
2) general checking( your bags, covers etc)
3) VFs guided me to stand in the queue for thumb impresion, same counter, they verified the documents like passport, appointment letter and other folders.they will give back the documents
4) again VFS guided me to stand in the particular Q for The Interview.
5) the interviewer checked all the docs, and v were very lucky, they didnt ask any questions, he asked me to put the right hand middle finger impression, and HE TOLD , " YOUR VISA WILL BE DESPATCHED WITH IN 7 DAYS, HAVE A GOOD US TRIP., " AND HE TOLD MY SON " YOUNG MAN, HAVE A GOOD TRIP". and i came back by 14.00hrs

so...all you need is confident and luck.
dont worry,,,visa is yours.

some points to be noted:
for L2, keep the marraige ceritificate ready and marrage snaps for proof. (they didnt ask me, but i saw another lady with 2 kids, whose visa got rejected as she didnt carry sufficient proof of her marraige. ) so.. keep sufficient proof ready.

you can carry covers with documents,

all the very best.
be confident and know the docs what you carry,
VFS people guide alot.
god bless.
